Jow Forumsap or anyone else with a Modele 1935A:

Have you ever had the trigger out? Is the pin that the trigger rotates on supposed to be able to come out or is it peened in place?

Anyone got experience with milsurp revolvers? I was thinking of getting a Colt/S&W 1917. Having a revolver in 45acp seems cool.

Yeah.

I want a Pistolet M1935A so bad.

Attached: 1935A (top) vs 1935S (bottom).jpg (750x593, 172K)

I've got a problem with my PING. When I go to close the bolt after inserting the clip, it needs a pretty decent shove to make it close. It cycles perfectly when firing it though and has no other issues.

I don't own a Garand, but I hear most people like to shove the bolt back with the bottom of their hand, shoving the clip into the mag with their thumb and then just pulling back on the bolt with the aforementioned bottom of your hand and letting it fly forward.

What kind of slings do Type 99 longs take? Is it just the standard Type 38 sling or did they have a unique one? Also, did Nagoya match their rifles by serial numbers or by assembly numbers and did they fully chrome the bolt face or partially like the one on the left? I might have the oppurtunity to buy one and I want to figure out if it's matching or not.

Attached: IMG_0812.JPG.jpg (4000x3000, 2.26M)

My Nagoya 21st series has a fully chromed face.

Are you in yet for a French rifle book, lads?

I'm gonna be picking up my Type 44 tomorrow.

Money order for the unissued 1910 Mexican Carbine I won goes out tomorrow.

>What kind of slings do Type 99 longs take?
I kind of need to know myself.
>did Nagoya match their rifles by serial numbers or by assembly numbers
They should be assembly. They were to my knowledge made after the switch for number matching.
>did they fully chrome the bolt face or partially like the one on the left?
My Toyo Kogyo made is partial like left. who claims to have a Nagoya would know better.

SKS are nice.

Interesting that neither one of those became a huge success on their own, but that each served as the basis for an outstanding post-war 9mm.

Is it a terrible idea to refinish the stock of an original and verified PU sniper? It's already got import marks, but the stock itself is scratched to shit and I'd like to make it look good as new.

>is it worth it to ruin the collectability of a highly sought after item?
This must be subtle bait, but here's your (you)

what accuracy / groups can be expected from a russkie sks at 100 yds?

I'm not baiting. It's so ugly.

Does MSG stand for Metal Sear Golid?

Don't fucking do it. A legit matched PU sniper that's unfucked with is pretty special. If you really need to, buy another stock or a repro and bubba that one up.

No, monosodium glutamate

What is this thing called? Barrel extension? Barrel shank? Receiver ring?

how do i stop my nugget cleaning rod from coming out when i shoot it?

Attached: 1555289616729.jpg (800x450, 42K)

It's the receiver ring. The barrel shank is the threaded portion of the barrel that screws into the receiver ring.

Make sure the threads on the rod nut are clean, and try putting a little blue threadlocker on it.

I thought there was an user here that got one, could be miss remembering. Or at least someone here got one they needed to deep clean. All the reviews I've read said the wood can definitely have issues. Also its luck of the draw for what you get. I haven't read about any severe mechanical issues if I remember. I been considering getting one myself. My guess is the pick of the batch went to their "cleaned" section.

>Romanian Dong furniture
I see you are a man of culture as well.

I bought a mint condition No4 Long Branch, close to zero wear on parts / stock, but the Extractor spring is flat and just falls out so I'm going about replacing it.

Which made me think - are there any other parts on a No4 Enfield, or even K98, that just wear out from long term storage?

I also did a test with the firing spring on the Enfield where I put a cut out corner of an adhesive sticky note on the bolt face and fired to see if it would puncture through, but it only left a black dot. not sure if that indicates a worn firing pin or something else in the bolt, or if I'm just overestimating the travel/strength of the firing pin to begin with.

Attached: 1509158417027.png (612x491, 98K)

It's an older Century Arms import built off a Romanian parts kit, but yeah I love it.

I haven't, I haven't had a single issue with it since I bought it, and I put over 800 rounds through it at Nuggetfest 2019 without a single issue, other than almost catching the handguards on fire but that's my fault for bumpfiring 5 mags in a row with it.

Have you checked all your guns user? Do you know the fairy DIDN'T visit you?

It's a terrible idea, either trade up to one you can stand, buy a different stock and keep the original in original condition, or suck it up buttercup.

Good luck with that bro. Might be easier to buy it and find a repro.

Anyone know if Spanish M43 Mausers are decent? Found one (pic related) for what seems like a decent price on a Mauser-variant, at least in Ausland but I can’t find much about them online. It hasn’t been rechambered and still fires 8x57, all matching parts and made in 46’. Are they decent rifles? This’ll be my first Mauser, so I’d like to hear from any of you fellas who might know a bit or two about them. Cheers in advance

Thanks for the info but I'm thinking it's a no go. Seller sent 4 images with no details whatsoever. I asked for more last night but haven't gotten anything back from the guy. Then this morning, I get an email from Armslist saying the listing I replied is a scam. Who the fuck tries to scam surp owners and why?!

I've had two different scammers try to send me fake checks. Both times I figured out what was going on before they even sent them and passed the checks to my CU's fraud department.

P14 Enfield for $400.00 or a 37th Series TJK Type 99 with 'mum for $325.00? What say you, /msg/?

Eh, it was competent enough. Made obsolete rather fast by mag capacity, though.
The P210 is the obvious winner here.

Attached: SIG_P210_IMG_6829-30.jpg (5000x5000, 3.08M)

Assuming the same quality the P14 is the better deal.

Attached: ENG - SMLE.jpg (2560x1440, 1.07M)

Which one is in better condition? I’d say the Type 99 right now though.

The Type 99 looks a little better, but I don't know for sure until I get better photos from the sellers. I ask because both rifles are two hours away, but in opposite ends of the state.

Is it shameful to refinish a bayonet to match your stock?

Attached: 8b7ca932-eaf4-4499-bbe4-6ade9c23929a.jpg (540x720, 43K)

yes don't do it you filthy degenerate.

Attached: Gew 98 stabby.jpg (3499x1072, 940K)

Wasn't the Pa-15 also inspired by the 1935A/S?

Attached: 20190427_150743.jpg (3261x884, 2.64M)

I meant the grips, of course, not the blueing, because the bayonet has much more blueing left. What's wrong with doing that? I'd never consider doing it to a stock, but in my mind, the bayonet isn't matched to the rifle anyway, so it would not be a crime to do so. Is it a common thing for bayonets matched to rifles to have the same wood finish?

Well I’m not too sure about how available Type 99s & P14s are over in what im assuming is seppo-land, but P14s are fairly easy to get a hold of here so I’d say go the Type 99, especially if it’s in better condition AND cheaper.

Sometimes. The bayonet for my Persian is numbers matching the rifle and the grips match pretty close.
But refinishing any kind of surplus is absolutely disgusting so don't even think about doing it or I'll tell your mommy.

>Who the fuck tries to scam surp owners
It's just another avenue for scaming. Just looking for old people, and idiots. They do it because at some time in the past it worked on someone.
>and why?
Money

There's a listing on my local armslist I think is a scam or the guy is dumb. SVT 40, + ammo, matching, needs a good new home, no pic's. If your going to ask $1.3k you need at least 1 shitty pic.

Just got the notification then, god damn that was quick. A whole $10k American in an hour. I personally think the $350 is a bit underwhelming since it’s just a book box and a message from Ian as well as some extra copies, but that’s just me.

Okay, thanks, sorry. I won't ever do it. I already love the character of the rifu, now I'll just have to come to love the bayonet

I'm not overly familiar with that particular model, so I couldn't say. Thanks for giving me something to read about. :)

Well most of the books in that style are around a hundred dollars to start with. Add in a low production case and a personalized message and the time and cost adds up.

Also the whole point of something like that in KS is to provide a higher margin for people looking to provide more support. Lots of games get things like "Add your own custom headstone to the in-game graveyard" and it's a tier that's $500 more than the last one. It doesn't cost that much to put it in, it's just a little something to pay people back that have put out a large amount of money, and maybe entice one or two more people to pony up some extra cash.

Attached: DEN - 1889 Krag.jpg (2560x1440, 1.14M)

$86k now. I feel like since this is the day of the big public announcement that we're gonna easily cruise past $100k.

Attached: GRE - 1930 - crest.jpg (4032x2268, 880K)

You know. Looking at the top funded books on Kickstarter. Ian's book has a chance of getting into the top 20 or 30. To get into the top 10 it would have to break a half million though, which I doubt will happen.

Fair point, if the book has as much effort as he puts into his videos put into it and is as good quality as it looks to be that’d probably be a fair arm and a leg in costs, and I didn’t notice it was a personalised message. Makes a bit more sense now, cheers user

Hey mate, I’m the user who posted earlier asking about the quality of a La Coruna M43. I’m wondering if you’ve got any info you could share based on your experience with the FR 8? Just anything that might shed some light in what to expect with the rifle, etc.

That is actually a very reasonable price for a limited edition hardcover book.

Yeah, I think the thing had me whinging earlier is that it’s roughly $500 kangaroo dollars, so it seems a hell of a lot more pricier. Ah well, them’s the benefits of living in the land down under versus the land of freedom

Freshly unsporterized k98k. Bluing is fucked and the stock I got is dark and a little beat up but its definitely worth the 500 I put into it imo and it shoots great. The 10 shots I put thru it were dead on the money at 100yds

Now Im looking for the correct original sling, is this the proper one?

1944militaria.com/Original_German_WWII_k98_Leather_Rifle_Sling_p/ork98slng1.htm

Attached: IMG_8367.jpg (3024x668, 168K)

I can see scamming someone through money orders and out of state buyers but considering that Armslist is mostly for local, private sales, it just seems stupid trying to scam people who are armed and will probably shoot if they sense danger or bullshit.

>What kind of slings do Type 99 longs take?
They were of the same style as the Type 38 slings.
>Also, did Nagoya match their rifles by serial numbers or by assembly numbers
Always with the last 3 digits of the serial number.
>and did they fully chrome the bolt face or partially like the one on the left?
Toyo Kogyo only chromed the center of the bolt face(and that is something unique to just their Type 99 long rifles and maybe the early short rifles). Nagoya chromed the full face.

>posting muh pics
