"Its not our war," is the most retarded anti war argument. We own the planet and every war is our war. Theres nothing amazing accomplished by letting savages and warlords fight for the rest of eternity.

Interesting he has 4 nades and a grenades and a grease gun. I guess they where super cheap back then.

we would have won nam if USA just got rid of their bullshit ROE and "human rights" cuckery and just supplied weapons to the ROK and ARVN and just provided air support.

The 9th Division's send-off anthem.

>"Lt. Kim, The Americans keep telling us that we have to cool it on the war crimes."
>"What's a war crime?"
>"I don't know, but it sounds like some hippie bullshit."

The Grease gun was actually from a captured weapons cache. There's a video of him wielding an M2 carbine while looking over the rest of the captured stuff.

I don't have the link with me, unfortunately.

The guy on the right is wearing a plate carrier that was only issued to helicopter flight crews as far as I know. Any story on that?

I served in the Fierce Tiger Division tho. Generally a kino unit and probably the best army unit of ROK armed forces.

Reminder that the only reason nobody ‘remembers’ Korea is because modern allied forces got BTFO by fucking Chinese peasants

ARVN
>always bitched about the m1 garands issued to them
>too heavy, long, and cumbersome for their manlet statures
>used m1 and m2 carbines for a time as their main service weapon before getting m16s
ROK
>couldn't care less about what they had
>used it to good effect
>got m16s anyway and much earlier than the arvn did

Gotta love MACV's thinking and approach to things.

you get the shit hazed out of you?

Actually no. Only marine crayon eaters do that now. We are professional army unit.

RoK Marines are scary fucking dudes.

If I recall, they were given to their vehicle crews and I believe their medics? I'm not too sure, but it was for guys who needed more protection.

Well ya it entirely consists of gook criminals, lowest of low of society, and psychos.

Cool. I always wondered why there aren't more pictures of ground troops using them. Even with reduced mobility, the increased protection had to valuable to some people.

Clarification: ROK Uniform codes were super restrictive. This guy was an exception to the rule. The helmet he has in his hands was his old one and was struck, nearly killing him. For that, his superiors gave him lee-way to have a bunch of writing on his helmet.

Hard to believe that their entire civilization was founded on war (Literally, they gave Ancient China a middle finger in present-day Manchuria, and told them to fuck off ~2,000 years ago). Still awesome to see, though.
