I know this dude can shoot pretty well but something about him just annoys me. Personally I dislike thumb over bore unless I'm trying to hit my PEQ, but I never cant my rifle like he is doing. He is right about support hand pulling in, and he is right about most of his other stuff. I teach my guys to stagger feet a little bit, like a wrestling stance where he is kinda doing a boxing stance. The video game analogy is actually pretty good, I might use that.

He's shooting a target from like 10 yards away with a rifle and RDS, shit's not even remotely impressive in the grand scheme of things.

Running around in skinny jeans and shooting targets 5 yards away with the speed of a 1000 Aderall babies isn't really gonna do much for you in "war" or something. I don't know. Maybe in some ultra rare situation where Lucas had to shoot a bunch of guys standing right next to him who suddenly became a deadly threat this would be applicable. Otherwise this is bullshit.

You get DQ'd for safety violations or being a giant enough dick that it qualifies as unsportsmanlike like conduct. You don't get DQ'd for "not being able to perform some action with weight separate from shooting" .

To be fair, between the camera work and shooting, it looks cool, and that's half of what marketing a product and youtube channel is. His vids are shooting porn. All that being said, his recoil control is great and you don't always have acres to LARP on and shoot random things. The drills he does putting shots in small circles is a great way to amplify your range, so even if you're only shooting at 5 yards, if you're shooting at something the size of an apple, you should be able to hit something much farther than that this is man sized. That's the principle. For what it's worth, I do this type of drill every time I go to the range. Draw a quarter sized dot, send target to three yards, try to put 5-10 shots in that quarter at 3 yards. If you can do that, you can hit the a zone of a human silhouette 10/10 times at 25 yards.

If it improves your results, and isn't endangering anyone, who am I to critique someone's method of training. I think that Lucas is an extremely proficient shooter, he's easily the quickest guy in the game if you discount cowboy action dudes.

And someone who doesn't. I'm not saying Lucas is a high end competitor I'm just sick of retards who spew this shit and inevitably cant do close range drills nearly as fast/accurately when the shot timer comes out.

Even if you don't like him you can't deny he has his fundamentals down pat. He's pretty quick and gives good advice on how to get quick. However he isn't military/le experienced so take any of his "tactical" advice with salt. Overall I'd say he's a great resource for drills, but go to someone with experience for tactics and whatnot.

Start by recording yourself, then do wrist curls for a few months, and strangle the gun like it's a hooker you don't want to pay.

Grip and forearm strength and locking your wrists is pretty much all there is to it.

I like the guy. I don't take everything he says as gospel but he has got me to realize and work on a couple things. I really liked his "Shoot to miss" video. When you're shooting well and feeling like a bad ass, change some things up. Try to shoot faster or with more range and slooowly ramp it up. Once you start missing take a step back and try to understand why and what you can do to improve.

Sure, it's basic shit but how he lays it all out helped me in a weird way. Flicked a switch somewhere in my brain. Made it so my misses weren't even frustrating anymore. Probably since I was distracted with trying to understand why and what I should do. Maybe I'm just a shitter but I thought it was a really neat little video.
