>futuristic
Great, I didn't realize war was about looks. Go lose to some emus cunt.

They should wear fashion scarves and better hats too. And usgi boots are SOOOOO 2007

Why didnt your mother abort you.

The M4 platform is (arguably) better. It's more modular and modifiable, is easier to operate due to its conventional layout, and is one of the lightest service rifles ever fielded. While you can argue various points of why the AUG is allegedly the superior platform, there's not enough of a justification for it to be worth it to the US to replace all of its rifles with a completely different system.

>Why doesn’t US military use Steyr Aug?
cost and investment in the shifest of ARdom. Stoner really fucked the USA good and proper and they are still thanking him for the reaming

You've never shot either gun, refrain from voicing your worthless opinion.
because the AR platform is superior to the AUG.

I love the AUG, but the AR platform is just flat out better in just about every respect.
t. owns both

Too much cost for very little gain. All rifles would need to be replaced, same goes for all the replacement parts. But it wouldn‘t stop there, all your weapon specialists need retraining, as well as everyone who actually needs to use one of those guns. All so you can replace an old platform with another old one (remember that the AUG has been around for decades as well at this point).

OP is obviously some 12yo retard, and so are you for replying.

This is why 2019 Jow Forums is utter garbage.

Australia chose the AUG because it came with a license to produce it locally, Colt didn't give that option. If they did then we would be using M16's and M4's.

Have to live up to the tittle of most retarded board.

Shut the fuck up, moron.

>2019 Jow Forums
Back in my day it was said Jow Forums is the easiest board to troll. If you were not a 2018fag, you would know this saying.

This thread is nothing new.

I know it's not. But I still remember times when we could have interesting & informative discussions here. Right now valuable people don't even bother making good threads because they get killed by shit like this.

I think some are even dumber and easiest to troll, like /lgtb/
But unlike on Jow Forums they have mods there.

I own AR and AUG.

Aug is fantastic for in car usage, its very compact.
It is very easy to maintain and clean.
It is reliable and very ergonomic.
Arguably better accuracy/velocity due to longer barrel than AR platform of similar length.
Lowest recoil of any rifle I shot.
Still the best magazines I've ever used. Nothing comes close. Everyone who handled it thinks the same.

Its faults:
Not enough mounting space like AR can have.
Mounting stuff on it dis-balances the rifle, which is otherwise really well balanced compared to AR. It feels just right.
You cannot use drum mags (civilian shit, I know) on bullpups comfortably.
Safety is good, but not custom-AR good.
You'll never be as fast with reloads as you will on AR.

Trigger on AUG, although smooth - its 12lbs by default. My AR trigger is 3.5. You can modify but its hard to get those parts.

All that said, it is my GTFO weapon. I love it because its so fucking pleasant and natural to handle compared to AR. Its short.
But don't fool yourself, its nowhere as versatile as AR.

Because they already adopted the M16 and its derivatives, the cost of switching isn't worth the marginal gains. That's almost always the reason why x, y, z hasn't been adopted. Infantry rifles in general don't really matter that much, until your supply is completely dog ass fucked there's no point in replacing it if it works.

>marginal gains
>cost
>they're lazy
The bulfag/auscuck cope. Every go fast fuckboy in NATO and even plenty of non-NATO countries who can pick and choose what they carry from the armory almost UNIVERSALLY choose variants of AR15s. That, and Glocks. That's the reality.

>facts are "coping"
If the US was going to replace the M4 they'd probably do it with the SCAR, not the AUG, retard. Unfuck yourself.

What the fuck even is your argument and against who, tard?

>more modular and modifiable

Name one modification the US puts on the M4 that you couldn't put on an AUG.

There’s still time

The AUG is just as modular if not more so. Barrel switches are easy af, it can be converted to an LMG on the fly. You can switch ejection side easy. The AUG is ambidextrous by default, most stock AR's need mods to be ambi.

Everythimg else you said is correct though

>bullpups suck ass
>Ausfailian military isnt a standard to hold things to

Because us infantry is incompetent and would not be able to use the superior masterrace AUG rifle properly.

Steel trigger groups, modifiable stock length

Ya got me on the stock, but if they were contracted for the US, steel trigger groups would not be hard to implement.

>bullpup
>Says should switch of aesthetic reasons

Pick one

Yeah, Aussies also use knock off glocks as standard issue. Point?

maybe aug is stupid i guess

Because we have a deficit of A E S T H E T I C

In order for you to even ask a such a stupid question, you obviously have never seven shot AUG before.

>muh quick change barrel tho
Yeah it’s cool but realistically when is that ever gonna be useful

>muh longer barrel
It’s been proven that any barrel longer 16” is kind of redundant because there is no measurable difference accuracy and power

>shooting in full auto is like trying to finger a rabid pitbull, the gun shakes all over the place
>it’s like a 4 MOA gun at best
>trigger feels like dragging a piano across gravel

It’s garbage because of the rich zoomer commies who don’t own guns.
