Yeah. It has these special spring-loaded detents on the extractor star to let them grab onto rimless cartridges, and those are pretty fragile.
If you were to get one as just a collectible, I would recommend using a stick for carefully poking out empties.

I've seen people say that Smith & Wesson bought this company out because they felt threatened by the product, but that's not true, the Medusa just failed to sell on the market and the company went out of business.
It's a neat idea on paper, but if I wanted a multi caliber revolver I'd get a Ruger Blackhawk Convertible in .357/9mm, and that would already cover some of the widest bases for handgun cartridges.

Sometimes prototypes look much sexier than final products.

Yeah, it was their solution for their multi-caliber not using moonclips right? Didn't know they went under, that sucks

Attached: 1551337408789.jpg (1600x900, 1021K)

Attached: 1517703242558.jpg (3072x1728, 2.36M)

Moon clips would probably have been a better idea, then that would make it a bit easier to deal with undersized cartridges (which can still be fired), and it would have made the gun cheaper and more reliable (not to talk about the whole SHTF notion, where cutting out a clip from a sheet of metal would be exponentially easier than replacing those extractor fingers).

I recall it was a pretty damn expensive gun, at like $2500 or so, they used like a lot of vanadium steel in making it or something, which made it pretty heavy too.
It's a really unusual and interesting gun though.

Yeah, the more I hear about it, the more unusual it gets. Guess they just kinda went overboard with the special snowflake stuff on it. Is S&W really doing anything with the company or is it just like a subsidiary that just machines more parts for them or something?

Smith & Wesson didn't buy them at all as far as I know.

Makes more sense, would be weird for them to buy a dying company. Oh well, such is life, time for more guns.

I don't own any handguns. Is $250 a good deal for something like this?
