BOOBS

This is a good idea. Very cool OP

whats the best CCW insurance?

WHO

there's like 8 people on all of Jow Forums who own guns and maybe 2 of them who carry

us law shield is certainly the broadest, but for the most part the majority of your defense is knowing when to shoot and when not to

no amount of insurance will protect you from brandishing at a car because they're driving not to your liking

another op falling for the oldest rule. Never post a pic more interesting than the topic, Who is she?

>tits are more interesting than carrying advice
Please jerk off before posting.

>another op falling for the oldest rule. Never post a pic more interesting than the topic, Who is she?

I know very well about that rule. A thread with qts and good info is never a bad thing.

Handgun terminal ballistics. I made a post about this in another thread but will just make it here too

youtu.be/T6kUvi72s0Y

A reliable, concealable and easy to shoot handgun perferably chambered in 9mm is your best bet. Buy either 124 or 147GR Speer Gold Dot or Federal HST ammunition for carry. Vet your ammo in your actual carry gun to verify reliability. There is no magic number but 50-200 rounds is a good amount depending on your budget.

Some things to consider with duty ammo
>visualy inspect every round you carry
>inspect the rim for any burrs or cracks that may interfere with reliable ejection
>inspect the primer to see if they are properly seated, are not broken or upside down
>inspect the bullet and see if it is properly seated into the casing
>use a sharpie on the rim to keep track of how many times it has been cycled

There is no concrete number of times a round can be loaded and unloaded. I have personally never had troubles firing Gold Dots or HST that have been chambered 20 times but it’s your life you are potentially betting on.

It’s an eye opening experience if force on force scenario based training is conducted by a competent instructor lest it turns into a paintball match. It’s even better when combatives or shock blades are used.

>why competitive shooting (IDPA & USPSA/IPSC) is beneficial for defensive minded shooters

youtu.be/FlITX5fHZmM

Competition shooting, specifically USPSA is an isolation of shooting skill. There is measurement of tactics which is a good thing; it looks at how well you can efficiently shoot a multitude of drills. A high level competitive shooter is able to take his mind off the technical process of shooting a gun. For a defensive minded shooter, this is incredibly beneficial because you will be able to free up the “RAM” in your brain and put your attention on tactics in a real situation.

Plenty of BTDT instructors like Chuck Pressburg, Ernest Langdon, Mike Pannone, Kyle Lamb and Pat MacNamara are all advocates of competitive shooting.

A few of the main takeaways I got from this book include:
1. Buy self-defense insurance. ACLDN is a good company and provides a lot of resources.
2. After a self-defense situation, call 911 and say someone has been shot, along with the location. Don't say anything else.
3. When the police arrive, make a complaint against your attacker.
4. Point out the evidence before it gets lost or tampered with. Point out your attacker's weapon, shell casings, etc. Note, criminals frequently throw their weapons as they go down.
5. Point out all the witnesses. Otherwise, new witnesses will magically appear; these are often times your attacker's friends.
6. Don't say anything else. You need a few days to fully digest what happened before you can accurately tell your story.
7. Contact an attorney that specializes in self-defense. Most attorneys are not good at real self-defense cases. ACLDN has a list of attorneys that specialize.

It’s also a good idea to train under professional, well established instructors who teach a well thought out cirriculum.

Taking a class from somebody like Tom Givens (who is a member of ACLDN) that has +60 students that have trained with him successfully defend themselves with a firearm and being able to report this will have a better look than if you prove you have recieved training from somebody who has published a video on the internet saying they would start shooting people if X did X on the internet or someone who is a convicted felon and nearly showed up to their workplace with an AK to kill a bunch of cops.

This is why I make a point to only train with reputable instructors.

This is a good thread. I have no idea what we’re talking about, but I really like it

yeah at least everyone hasnt reduced to calling each other faggots.. yet

legal defense costs real money and jamal and miguel's family will have lawyers lining up to take their case against you, pro bono just for the opportunity to push your shit in.
if you ever have to draw and shoot, you had better have something better to say than "i feared for my life" because that aint good enough in a court room.

I personally like both JM Custom Kydex and Dark Star Gear holsters for AIWB. JM’s Wing Claw 2.0 and 2.5 are the two best designs with the George and regular AIWB for people who don’t prefer belt claws. Dark Star Gear’s Hitchhiker and Orion holsters are the ones that I use the most for carrying Glocks.

AIWB isn’t for everyone. Some people may feel uncomfortable with the idea of it despite the knowledge and that’s fine. Others may want to do it but have a body shape that isn’t conducive to AIWB carry which is also okay. IWB is still a very relevant and viable way to carry a pistol despite how many IG oper8rs say otherwise.

Seconding ACLDN. Good price and a ton of resources. Their legal fund just broke 2 million, meaning you have access to up to 1 million for your legal fund (every member is entitled to use to half the current legal funds' amount at any time). They even let you use their funds in conjunction with other insurance. Personally, I went with ACLDN and US Law Shield since they both have good prices.

Tom Givens puts out a monthly newsletter about CCW related topics, strongly recommend listening to this man

Howdy friends, mind if I ask the hivemind about pros and cons of different carry styles. How do you carry? I just picked up a taurus 605 for cc and I'm getting my permit very soon, luckily I don't need to attend a training course because I've got a dd214 however I feel this puts me at somewhat of a loss for actual training in concealed carrying, I plan on attending a training course soon but it's out of the budget for the month. How do you feel about pocket carry? Or carrying in a fanny pack? I'm in the southeast so the summers are hot and humid and a fanny pack seems like the best option to carry in light attire and I could carry at the gym.

Personally I carry chambered hammer down for my semis, and for my snub nose revolver the same. For both types I use clipdraw as it's the smallest carrying footprint and least likely to show.

Clipdraw seems nice and low profile but aren't you worried about the trigger?

You can get trigger coverings from them, but since I carry DA/SA and don't carry locked I'm not no. The amount of weight to pull is non trivial and I practice a lot and make sure I'm comfortable with the trigger before it goes on my waist. I also require 1000 rounds through a gun before she's carry eligible

Lol listen to this elite operator.

Does this information apply to nogs and skinwalkers alike?

Trigger guard is what many use. They slip over the firearm just covering the trigger; a string attached to a carabiner that you clip onto your pants.
When you draw, at the end of the strings slack the guard pops off allowing you to fire.

You need to think of how fast you can get your gun out and get an initial shot off. A fanny pack isn’t as fast as AIWB or IWB and pocket carry is slow unless you have your hand in your pocket.

Something small yet shootable such as a 9mm Glock 43, S&W Shield or Walther PPS or a good .380 like a Glock 42 in a belt holster is a very good choice.

Violent encounters happen very quickly so you will want to be able to get a gun out asap and from different positions. fwiw, I live in hot weather year round and carry a G19 AIWB. Some days I carry an M&P Shield 9mm AIWB and my draws are roughly in the 1.10-1.3 seconds.

Where are you located? I can point you to some good trainers around the area

Attached: 2DF27A2C-67A0-4A4E-8992-F61FD28CEA64.png (600x520, 672K)

I know most states more or less greenlight deadly force if someone hurts or makes a threat "no matter how slight" but you bet your ass the court is going to try and find a way that you didn't have to kill a dindu so you best be sure your life is objectively in danger

i.e. don't go looking for fights because you think your gun is your literal get out of jail free card
i.e. if you foresee any harm coming your way it's a lot smarter in every category to avoid that situation instead of voluntarily staying in a bad situation and going straight to what should be your last resort

holy fuck are you blind

Understandable, I think I'll look into iwb holsters and just use the fanny pack when at the gym or running. I'm in northwest FL

I have this kit bag, thought about carrying my G19 in it when I go for runs but I think it screams “gun” so I never used it. I would use the shit out of it if I ever went innawoods or did trail running but I live in the suburbs. I too live in FL btw.

hillpeoplegear.com/Products/CategoryID/1/ProductID/6

For running, I use a S&W 442 in a Dark Star Gear J Frame holster and since it’s so lightweight with most of the weight being in the cylinder which is at the belt line, the gun doesn’t bounce around as much as a heavier pistol but snubbies are fucking miserable to shoot so I’ve been meaning to sell it and get a Glock 42 instead.

As for trainers, you’re in for a treat. Jared Reston is an experienced LEO who has good classes in the St. Augustine and Jacksonville area. There is also Green Line Tactical in that area. Varg Freeborn also teaches in the Florida area but doesn’t have too much classes set up around here as of now. Tom Givens tends to teach local classes in FL at times, especially the beginning of the year and a local company EDC Pistol Training puts on decent classes.

Jared Reston is known for being in a shootout with a shoplifter and the story is pretty incredible.

You should get CCW permits in more states than just the one you live in. I have a PA permit and am planning on applying for the Florida out of state permit to add like, 5 additional states to those that I can concealed carry in.

I’d split her in half like a piece of lumber if you know what I mean

>When the police arrive, make a complaint against your attacker.
This is actually a big thing. Even if the guy is clearly dead, you demand he is placed under arrest, that you want to press charges. It saying how you're the good guy in this.

She can holster my pistole, if you know what i mean

I mean it's simple testing. All machines break 1k down the pipe is 4 leisurely range trips. By that time I know the trigger pull, recoil impulse and how she feels in my hands. If you're going to plan on fighting know the tools. It's just training
