Why dont more armies use it instead of dishing out shitty ratios?

Because people in the military are retarded and would burn down their camp. Look at Generation Kill, they were supposed to be high speed guys that had their ass on straight and Fruity Rudy's little espresso stove still blew up and injured Person.

You ve posted this in 2 threads so far, stop pushing your shitty forced meme on us.

Finnish Defence Forces use them. They are pretty handy for boiling water, since that's basically all you need to make rations edible.

What about that private who drank two liters of rubbing alcohol and poured kerosene into his tent stove?

Jow Forums yourself in the head Jeremy

Burning a tent or two per boot camp is pretty regular stuff. The wooden stoves are much more dangerous than these little Trangia burners.

because you have to stop to cook with that.

MREs don't require cooking, and so in an emergency you can eat them on the go. And when you're at the FOB or back in the rear there are actual kitchens which cook Actual Food

Son uses them for DoFE. Honestly its simple, get some cold rations in a packet, boil water and put the packet in, warming it up. Thats what he did atleast.

It was also in the book so

The response may have been tongue in cheek, but that shit is for real on some level. You do not fully appreciate how idiot proof things need to be to ensure no one goes with an empty belly, or worse, injured trying to use a tool.

If the MRE triples the cost but halves the chances of a missed meal or burned hand it still has requisite value. Your logistics planning must take into account operator error, medical expenditures and risks etc..

Not him but It’s better than the reposts

>in the rear there are actual kitchens which cook Actual Food
Speaking of the rear, in Desert Storm my dad said they were served chicken and his friend pointed out my dad's piece was a butthole. Apparently he dug around the meat, and it was in fact a butthole. Serves proof that the food is real, at least, but after that he just wanted MREs.

Aare you eating MRE while in combat?

they die so memes can live

MREs are meant to be eaten, not enjoyed.

No but I ate plenty in hummers on the way to see it.

Turns out shit made for camping in North America, esp. stuff that involves camping fuel, isn't designed to operate in 130F weather

soldiers are one step above prisoners. why would you wanna feed them good stuff when you can feed them shit and they can't do shit about it?

god bless america, land of the free

One has to wonder at the cost/benefit analysis of retaining and planning around the potential issues of soldiers that can be so stupid that they fuck up how to eat food. Is the monumental effort of bending over backwards to accommodate retards worth having a horde of retards?
