Assuming match ammo and good gun/barrel, 600 yards effective all day. 700 doable if atmospherics cooperate. 800 rolling dice if conditions are very calm and velocity on impact is unimportant.

200 yards is quite a bit.

He specified 16 inch barrel. If you go for a thicc 24" match barrel and hand-rolled 5.56 you can get some stupid long shots. Still required atmosphere to cooperate when you're stretching out with such a light bullet.

Be totally honest, is LMT worth it quality wise? Is any of the cost just for the name or do you reasonably think that every dollar goes into performance?
Looking into a few LMT rifles as my first higher grade AR.

With a 16" barrel 262 mod 1 will stay super past 1000yd and still is moving at a decent speed around 900yd so its not outside the realm of reality nor is it hard to find people doing that

LMT makes a solid rifle. Haven't had any real time with the 308 but the MRP I had was rock solid as well. You don't earn a reputation like theirs by selling snake oil or partnering with snake oil suppliers. Value is determined by the end-user.

I've got experience pushing 262 out at the 1000 yard line out of a mk12. Possible and effective are not the same thing. Wind absolutely shreks 77gr OTM past 600 yards.

Fair enough. I’ve had a bad taste in my mouth about them after the jewing stocks thing. I really just want something ultra reliable overall with good accuracy and long barrel life.

My guns tend to take a lot of wear and tear and I want something to survive it along side me.

Charging $200 for a stock that costs next to nothing to make. They were jewing the Navy (who actually owns the design) for a while until they caught on.

That’s why B5 makes a near identical stock for $50. Technically the B5 performs a little better but it’s such a minuscule difference it doesn’t matter.

Fun fact, wholesellers take the stocks off and sell them separate.

Poverty Ponies are OK. Aero Precision is probably the best bet towards the bottom of the barrel. They are not much more money.

Their FAL quality went up and down. I believe their AR quality to be shit at this moment.

F sight all the way to the front. R sight all the way to the rear. RDS just forward of rear sight unless you are doing night vision stuff - which you probably are not.

My fav offering from them right now is the XPS3-2 or EXPS3-2 depending on how you like your co-witness. Get the side controls so they are not blocked by the magnifier or NVD if you ever weapons mount. Seriously, though - I would never touch an EOTech if I were not using in tandem with an NVD.

Newest build of mine. PSA .223 Wylde 18" 1:7 Twist. So far I've installed a 2.5lb trigger group & some anti-walk pins. All made from Nickel-Boron. I also plan on getting a NB bolt carrier. Haven't shot it yet, but I assume with some heavier grain 5.56 I can get 1-2" groups at 100 yards.

I got the HK trigger for my new 417.

Forgot pic. It was the only thing throwing my groups off. Right now I don't need a scope. I can shoot within the hole at 100 yards with irons alone. It's nuts how great these sights are.
