I've never welded before in my life, what are the odds I fuck up pinning my J-Comp with a harbor freight welder and a few videos on how to do it? I'm mechanically inclined and pick these things up quickly. It's already pre drilled.

What do you guys feed your 5.56 SBRs? I know 55gr stuff suffers pretty badly from the short barrel so I'm looking for something 69-77 range. Is the magtech 77gr OTM any good? What about the IMI 77gr razorcore?

magtech 77gr otm is good stuff. never tried the razorcore stuff, but i've mixed reviews.

No, 14.5 will get you just about anywhere the 5.56 round can.

Anybody know if this mk262 clone batch is viable? I've never heard of RL17 being used in a 5.56 but Quickload seems to like it.

Most people recommend rl 15 for that, a guy has a good youtube series on cloning mk262 and goes through a lot of diffrent powders, it johnnys reloading bench

Tig welder? Not very if you run a few practice beads first, just be sure to get in and out of there quickly, don't want to overheat something

make the weld pretty hot because if not it will splatter and leave a big ball on top of the pin. you want it to flow out nicely over the pin. you wont overheat the barrel pinning it... its literally half a second of welding. practice on a shitty flash hider if u can

welding a bead is nothing like a tac weld. no need to practice "running a bead"

The real question is which one is heavier. I'd suspect LMT but LWRC are supposedly mighty THICC.

I think the LMT is heavier even as configured ...that monolithic upper just weighs a ton

It's a new revision of Aimpoint's own QD mount. They've gone to a locking lever instead of that knob which used to punch holes in your chest.

It's Aimpoint's optional QD mount and spacer that they offer for the micros.

You can make one upper. Get a 13" mcmr for your 14.5" barrel and throw the 15" mcmr in the trash.
