For a strictly defensive engagement a 105mm gun will knock out any possible amphibious armor landed.

Slap on modern FCS and thermals and you're good.

*crack*
*Sipppp*
"Now that's a tank! Real american steel, don't need none of that uranium or ceramic in there. I tell you hwat they just dont make em like they use to."

Holy shit is that an actual su-100? It looks so small.

Its your mom.

>52 years and still going on in Malaysia.

AMERICA MADE QUALITY.

M48; You can see the hull is rounded.

Venezuela has a tall ship made in the 70's. I kinda want to see them battle it out as part of the ongoing kerfuffle.

>WW3
>Russia barely managed to make the Admiral Kuznetsov sea worthy again
>Total engine failure in the Atlantic, ship is abandoned
>The US sink the Kuznetsov out of shit and giggles with the USS Constitution
Post yfw.

You have to remember those things were made for literal manlets along with all the other russian armor during ww2.

M48A5 is cute!

Keep in mind that modern tanks, compared to even immediate post-war tanks, are quite large. The T-34 was a smaller tank to begin with, and the idea of the SU-85/100 was to make something of roughly the same size, of not smaller, with a beefy gun.

Compared to the alternatives, not too bad.

How well would that 100mm gun fare against modern tech?

Depends. Hitting the side of a modern MBT would probably kill it. It'd be enough to take out most other AFVs. The issue would be more a matter of range and concealment; even with a crew highly familiar with the cannon, getting accurate shots at distances even approaching the effective ranges of modern anti-tank munitions (of both the conventional and missile varieties) would be a challenge.

>American also still using 50+ years old helicopter.

Your point? Unlike great American, The Malaysian still using the SAME one since 1950s. All because Malaysian Armed Forces are THE WEAKEST AND SHITTIEST ARMED FORCES IN WHOLE ASIA. As POOREST country in whole South East Asia, Malaysian couldn't even match with Filipino or the MOST DANGEROUS IN SOUTH EAST ASIA, INDONESIA.

>MOST DANGEROUS IN SOUTH EAST ASIA, INDONESIA.
You load any country up with enough muslims and it's gonna become the most dangerous in the region. That doesn't mean they have a capable military though. In fact, probably quite the opposite.

Is Malaysia really poorer than Cambodia? I always assumed that either Cambodia or Laos were the rock bottom in that region. Only ever visited Singapore and saw Malaysia from a distance, though, so I can’t claim I’m an expert.

Not that it's the best metric, but Singapore, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, and Timor Leste all have lower GDPs than Malaysia, all of which are under $300,000. The Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia are all higher.

Yeah, but what’s the PPP? Singapore is probably the richest country in the region (per person) by far.

Attached: 1553950585874.gif (250x141, 1.4M)

Indonesia ($3,028), Thailand, Phillippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore ($487.90), Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, Timor Leste ($4.98)

To put this in a bit more perspective by GDP:
>Indonesia, $963,684, ranked 1st in the region, 16th globally
>Thailand, $409,824, ranked 2nd in the region, 27th globally
and by PPP:
>Indonesia, $3,028, ranked 1st in the region, 7th globally
>Thailand, $1032, ranked 2nd in the region, 19th globally

Interesting. Never knew that.

Actually those numbers aren't the best, as Thailand's positioning varies depending on the reporting party (GDP places them at 24th by the IMF, 25th by the World Bank, and 26th by the UN)
Point being that Indonesia has a substantial lead on its immediate southeast asian neighbors. Of course you have to remember that this is offset by their proximity to Australia, China, and India, all of which outrank them. It's like they have the nicest house in the poorest neighborhood of a wealthy city.
