Just found pic related in my base...

Just found pic related in my base. It looks like a jacket less bullet of some sort but I have no idea which caliber it is. Any help?
ps the bullet next to it is 5.56 just for comparison
(Would also like to know if it has any chance of blowing up my fucking house)

take a pic with the light coming from the front, not the back. Or use a flash. it's hard to see any kind of detail.

my guess is a US 37MM apcbc round

If you find the case for it, you put that 5.56 in it like in the pic user

How many mm is it?

Too small im thinking it's a 75mm

user how the fuck is it too small to be 37mm. Take the width of the 5.56 and try again.

That's quite a find. 75mm?

>tfw thought it was a 308
Yeah 37mm seems legit

No idea, that’s why I’m asking you guys

where are you stationed (aprox)

Agreed. Likely pretty old. WW2 saw a lot of use for these in M3/M5s as well as air dropped cannons.

Just from the bullet's shape, it looks like the bullet from a M230 30mm chain gun round. If you had the rest of the cartridge we'd be able to know for sure.

Also here's a direct comparison between M855 and M788

Near gaza

So AH-64 M230 makes sense

One more comparison with transparency

So I’m guessing I should get rid of it because it can blow the roof off my house, right?

put it in the microwave

I’m jewish so I’d rather put it in the oven.

Bruh even if it was 7.62 it wouldnt be 75mm.

Hit the end with a hammer to reveal the info about the shell inside

Hit it with a hammer

Was going to say hit it with a hammer.
But they beat me to it so I'm saying hit it hard with a hammer on the pointy end to release the golden bar that is inside.

Based on the oxidation and different colorings it could also be a vietnam era 30mm
