Big iron's more fun to shoot, plastic fantastic's arguably more practical.

I own several big irons. Go for the 10mm.

I'd go with the .44 Magnum, since I'm a hunter and a cowboy LARPer.
Really depends on what you can shoot better, though. In any case, 6 rounds should serve you very well.
The 10mm brings more capacity to the table, but in my experience, more capacity just increases confidence since firepower can never replace shock power.
That is, of course, talking bears. If your jungle is made of concrete, it's 10mm all day long since you can conceal it better, courts will hassle you less and .44 can't play out it's ballistical advantage.
I'd suggest you track both down, shoot them and then decide. 1000$ are a lot of money.

44 is cool but depends on what for.
if you are innawoods a lot I would recommend
but at the same time.. 10mm could also do the job for innawoods stuff. and the ammo is cheaper so I would go with the g40

>.44 can't play out it's ballistical advantage
Even moderate .44 Mag loads like Speer's short barrel Gold Dot and Winchester's 210 gr Silvertip are .45 Super-tier, compared to most 10mm Auto basically being reheated .40 S&W.

marty memes are a good meme

Hot take: the modern Big Iron is a Deagle. Ostentatious, pointlessly large, impractical, ridiculously powerful.

This is of course hypothetical and highly dependant on the court, but it's not hard to see how someone could spin the "Dirty Harry" or "Taxi Driver" connection.
Not to say that someone won't try to paint you as a killer with a 10mm. I guess that's unavoidable, but I'd rather have a "normal" carry gun than a big iron in that case.
You can only kill a person so dead and I don't see any necessary advantage of the .44 over something like a .357 Magnum or a 10mm when shooting a two legged predator.
I'd want a .44 when I need penetration and that's basically everything deer and up.

get a revolver in .45-70, and fairly rip

Is the TALO Edition 629 Deluxe 6.5" Model # 150714 a *limited* edition (no longer made)? If so, I might want it for collectibility.

Does anyone know how many have been made, and if more are still being produced?

Attached: 1550832746050.jpg (1280x1024, 664K)

It wouldn't be collectible even if they were to stop making it.

Why not? MIM trigger & hammer trigger me a bit, as does the barrel being inscribed with the word "CLASSIC" and not "DELUXE" instead.

Attached: 1549946898342.jpg (5042x2953, 2.04M)

Because there's nothing particularly special about it, and while it is a distributor exclusive variant produced in smaller quantities than normal models, it's not actually rare as such.

But is it cool?

There Is a plethora of hot 10mm self defense ammo. It's better then 45 super.

This is the one mildly full power load he used and it didnt even expand because luckygunner is too stupid and poor to use actual ballistics gel.

Good review of the g40

The .44 will be far more exciting and fun to shoot than combat tupperware in a meme caliber.

With the right technique, .44 is pretty easy to shoot, and being able to weild that power properly feels mighty.

Whole bunch of fudd nonsense.

>With the right technique, .44 is pretty easy to shoot, and being able to weild that power properly feels mighty.
can confirm

you never know when you will need to be able to take 6 hits of 338 Lapua Magnum while patrolling the mall

>With the right technique, .44 is pretty easy to shoot, and being able to weild that power properly feels mighty.
There in his blue eyes was sadness
That comes from the need of a friend
And though he tried, he still couldn't hide
The loneliness there deep within

Nah, autoloading magnums are more fun then revolvers.

I like shooting my glock 40 more then I like shooting my .44 ruger blackhawk

If you want to feel like your wielding a powerful tool, get an X-frame handgun. If you want to have fun shooting, get a 10mm.

10mm Auto isn't a Magnum cartridge by any capacity (and isn't comparable to .44 Magnum), you want a Magnum automatic then Glock is not what you're looking for.

X-Frames are under-engineered, I prefer a Magnum Research revolver.

Attached: 99RrVVV.jpg (2176x1632, 450K)

Its slightly more powerful autoloading .357 magnum. Fuck you.

Go choke on your faggot 45 winmag.

Cope with weaksauce pretend-Magnum, caliberlet.

The original .357 magnum load was a 158 grain bullet with an advertised muzzle velocity of 1510 fps. This was from an 8 inch barrel.

From a 6 inch barrel, 10mm can throw 155 grains at well over 1600 fps. Hell, Underwoods 155 grain XTP's chrono at 1550 from a 5.2 inch barrel.

The original .44 magnum was 240 grains at 1200 fps. Modern 10mm is capable of chucking 220 grains at 1275 fps. Several commercially available loads throw 220 grains at 1200 fps.

Nobody says that 10mm is the most powerful round there is, but it is clearly a magnum caliber.

Attached: 1429736175283-1.png (487x422, 292K)

Yeah it bites with +p+ loads

>The original .44 magnum was 240 grains at 1200 fps
Oh, was it?

Attached: SW44magadvertisement.jpg (724x955, 170K)

$135? I'll buy as many as they can make.

Yes it was, regardless of whatever pissin hot loads have been developed for it since.

>whatever pissin' hot loads have been developed in between Remington standardizing the cartridge in the mid 1950s and the printing of that mid 1950s advertisement for S&W's new .44 Magnum

G40 with a red dot

The thing is, 1500 fps 240grs is achievable from a 6" revolver with standard pressure ammo.
Underwood meme loads are not standard pressure.

And you can take the .44 far further than you can the 10mm, all without having it be a boring plastic Block.

God, what an amazing cartridge.
I love .44 Magnum so much.

Elmer Keith's defining loads will always be the one he mentioned. You wanna say that .44 isnt a real magnum unless you push it to the absoloute maximum of the cartridge?

That's the baseline for the caliber, much like how .45 ACP will always be seen as 230 grains at 835 fps, since that was the original adopted milspec.

We all know that. 44 is more powerful.

It's also inherently lower velocity, lower capacity, and higher recoil for the power that you get because it's a revolver.

10mm is better for anything under 1000 lbs. An X-frame Smith would be better for anything over 1000 lbs.

I dont get the role of .44

Because have you tried carrying an X-Frame?

Yep

Because it's plausible to even CC a .44 Magnum

Concealed or open?
