Veteran bring-backs

I have my CVC cover from when we had to xerox our memes and pass them around by hand. Also a protective mask that was dropped by a retreating soldier. Firearms, even those that were civilian legal, were collected but not permitted to ship to the US. I do have an RPG7 sight that is fairly neat.
The bayonet on pic related was a WWII bringback by some great uncle of mine. A the story goes, he ground off the tip to turn it into a toy for one of his kids/ nephews. No clue how it got into my dads hands
I have a Soviet belt buckle from the invasion of Afghanistan.
I have a sporterized G98/40 and a nugget from my late grandfather. No one knows where he got them from
I have some gold teeth and a couple of ears.
I have a drinking problem I brought back with me
>invasion
Never happened.
When I was wounded. all of our issued CIF/RFI equipment was listed as destroyed, along with our vehicle. None of us were wearing our IBAs or ACHs that day, (if the blast gets through a Bradley, personal protection equipment will do fuck all). Also the nice thing about COP life, no Sergeant Major's going autistic every GodDamn day. Our 1SG became a lot more relaxed once we were overseas, didn't care as long as we did our jobs.
Got to keep all my issued gear, outside of my ACH that was acquired by someone in my company. Still have the SAPIs for my IBA, another guy got my side-SAPIs.
Honestly the best thing I got to keep was my Woobie (Poncho Liner), that shit is fucking sorcery and magic. Over a decade later, I still sleep with it every night.
Also snagged a Hijab during a raid. Buddy of mine was able to mail home a entire AKM, by sending it in several parts. Same lunatic was able to mail to his home a full block of C-4 during OSUT (there was a drum full of C-4, he just grabbed two instead of one, no accountability whatsoever), he sent several letters that were flattened down to paper width. Doubt that guy is still alive, he was literally insane.
My grandfather brought this back from WWII
Single-shot M1874 Gras converted to .22lr
My thing was to bring back pocket knives/knives in general all my gear usually had to be turned in, it had no personal value, though I did bring back my P-38s. Brought back my winter issue undies but that shit wears-out fast, just like my jungle boots, fatigues, they wear-out and in the trash they go!
Are you fucking 90?
Beautiful!
Yes, yes I'm fukn '90'
So you raided Clinton's bedroom?
>I got to keep was my Woobie (Poncho Liner), that shit is fucking sorcery and magic.
Lucky fuker
Very jealous. They put the kibosh on that shit before my time; all I wanted was one of the camo’d VZ58s we picked up off dead talibs.
I got some shit, kinda hard to remember where I stashed it...maybe in pickle jars?
Just my units deployment flag
Any pics of them? Thought they only really used aks
>no shit from current or recent wars
I sear that nobody here as served (including me)
Kids don't know the real p38 wasnt made by walther
I would have been stripping captured guns for neat stock sets, sights, plum mags and basically anything that isn't ITAR or a gun personally. I'm sure they might have taken it if found, but if it's not an actual gun you probably wouldn't get in deep shit, right?
grandpa was a marine. tons of stuff from japan, his unit was the first to land there. an arisaka, a cool 12ga pistol shotgun ive shown here a few times. handful of nip teeth. coins, flags, some fancy chopsticks in a fancy box.
also US Steel (can openers)
How much do they inspect your shit? Could you just take apart an AK, work the receiver into some kind of 'coffee machine', throw the barrel into a hookah, take it back all disguised like that?
Yeah, buddy had a complete IJA officer's uniform w/Katanna. I owned the Katanna for a decade, it was a WW1 arsenal made NCO sword, I let it go for pennys
NO
My uncle brought back a prayer rug from one of saddam’s palaces. Maybe I’ll take a pic of it when I get home
Actually yes, you just don't report what you find. Put it in paper, it is absurdly accounted for. You don't, it is free and clear. The buddy I mentioned above just found a AKM while exploring one of our FOBs that was a previous IA base. He told no-one but us, and he was able to ship the whole rifle home without consequence.
Fuck off, Jow Forumsiddo
Unfortunately lost the pics
Taliban stole/were bribed/murdered them from afghan border forces was the rumor we heard
good, no more wars for juden
Gt home soonest, dude!
I brought back a USAF Survival Knife I traded for in Nam. Camulius 1968 Mfg. I wanted it badly because my Gerber sheath had rotted away to nothing and I needed a knife/sheath in the worst way. That knife had excellent steel and the leather sheath lasted an entire tour. much later, on a deer hunting trip some fukr stole that knife
Older guy who occupied Korea as field artillery and eventually flown helicopters gave me a few things, among them being a 105mm casing, a 40mm anti air casing, and a red handle used to arm Honest John missiles.
I know a guy who came back from a certain european NATO mission and brought back an officers pistol, not sure what it was though, cant remember. Also he said in the 90s people were bringing back hand grenades in their carry-on because no one checked the luggage back then
thumbs-up
also Thumbs-up
My senior rattled off a huge series of regs I could go to prison for violating so I left behind all the interesting stuff and stuffed my duffel bag w/ porn.
Only thing I got back was an empty bag/no porn!
Not much but still something. During my time in Syria I managed to get myself a YPG Flag, as well as a YPG & YPJ Patch. Also, two mags from a captured PSL. I also tried to take the scope off the PSL before we turned it over to the Army, but my CO wouldn't allow that.
Pic of the captured PSL
Just put a bunch of mine into storage unit today, I've got an AK Type 1 bayo, some AK mags, a rack system, an Iraqi flag beanie and scarf, few other things. Nothing special just personal souvenirs to remind me of the crazy life I lived once
Imagine fighting for anti-Christian commies...
that's no cigar
Fuk'n Classic!
3/4?
Yeah, thats been goin on for over 100 years
If I woulda known at the beginning of my tour we coulda kept AK mags, I woulda had duffel bags full. We got special permission at the end of the tour to bring back bayos/mags so I literally searched all of our trucks/around the COP and managed to scrounge up like 4 mags that were just randomly around. All that stuff had to be tagged and shipped in a special platoon tuff box and not in our regular gear
HA!
Also bonus pic of two captured AKs we also had. One on the right was a chinese made AK and had TDI manufactured furniture funnily enough. One on the left is a Hungarian made one.
Didn't have too much say on the matter either way. My time and interaction with them they seemed decent. Most just wanted a Kurdistan and really didn't care about much else. The entire middle east is a clusterfuck either way. I legitimately cannot think of a single militia or government over there that isn't without major flaws.
>...
couda, woulda, shouda!
gonna fight here
Yep
shieet!
I got a Naval Jack off a navy ship.
I know. They wouldn't even let us deactivate one of those dope Nickel Republican Guard AK pistols and bring back that would pop up from time to time. We were gonna mount it on a plaque in our company area in garrison. Lame ass red tape man
The thing to remember is that the 3/rd World is being imported here. Dudes with OS deployments know the score and gotta form neighborhood defense forces. Learn/Live 't!
Lame ass..Tru Dat
2 gud too be true!
My dad has the exact same one but waaaay better condition with the scabbard. Got it appraised for 600 bones but wont sell it. It's badass.
>NEIGHBORHOOD DEFENSE FORCES
you fucking pussy go out and form a real WN army to actively kill those shitskins, don't fucking come at me with that civnat defense bullshit. the future of white children depends on what real men do, not what pussies wait to happen faggot.
They're so fucking rare. God damnit.
My shit is mostly patches and a red beret with a hole from where I added a dude’s Third eye.
From my grandpa. He was in North Africa and Italy with the US.
Thank god it was you guys over there and not 2/7.
Under Fucking Rated
what did 2/7 do?
Swiped an M9 bayonet from my unit.
Brought back an AK bayonet from Ukraine.
Not pictured, but I've got a '72 Fairburn Sykes fighting dagger I got it Thailand.
Azov?
>le edgy contrarian poster
Stop responding to trolls.
Good stuff man. Lovely relic
>bring backs
I left my legs in afghanistan.
>some great uncle
Evidently you weren't close to him, but is there any more to the story? The fact that he decided to grind it down to turn it into a child's toy is badass, but if he was on the line it came from, I can imagine that fact being much more badass.
Rip your legs Lt. Dan
I got to keep my armor. I started having medical issues in Iraq and you needed your armor for travel in country. Got a Medical discharge from a WTU (warrior transition unit). I like to be on the up and up so I contacted my former unit about it. They told me "We don't have a hand receipt saying we gave it to you. So whatever you have is yours now".
>Woobie
I got enough of them from clothing sales to last me the rest of my days. But I still like me a OD wool blanket for the couch.
>How much do they inspect your shit?
To my experience think TSA getting on a plane (x ray machine, metal detector) but add going into a room for a few minutes with your luggage and a convenient amnesty barrel. If it's not metallic maybe you can get thru.
1994-2008
To young for the Soviets, career progressed to a desk when the big show kicked off.
It's Afrika Korps and holy shit is it in great condition.
>Dat old ass heavy IBA with DAPs
*Sippp*...yup those were the days boys
old
Hey, as I was led to believe the thing was valued at $1k+. I counted it as part of my severance package. Being a old fuck I wouldn't give a shit if I took the field with just BDU's and ALICE gear. Shit and get; shoot, move, communicate.
No more to the story, everyone that knows it is dead. but there is a very sunbaked leather fighter pilot helmet. It's been in poor condition for years, I may take it off my parents hands if I can.
