I don't have a chest rig. But I do have a MOLLE 2 salt pack that came with a few pouches, one of them being this teeny little grenade pouch. I eventually figured out it was just the right size to carry (a) a Snickers bar or (b) some tinder in a sandwich bag and a cigarette lighter.

I use grenade pouches to keep all of my shekels safe

I just put training grenades and flash bangs in them to simulate the weight of real grenades, the flashbangs are real but improvised and probably lethal I dunno.
