Unless there’s an economic collapse, Donald Trump will probable get re-elected. The 2018 midterm favored democrats (midterms almost always favor the opposing party), and even with that, Florida, Iowa, and Ohio voted for Republican senators/governors, and Wisconsin barely went blue. The 2020 elections will have a higher turnout for republicans. Trump can lose Michigan and Pennsylvania and still win the presidency with the other states he got in 2016.
Despite the Democrats losing their shit over everything, the country and economy are doing very well, and that’s all he needs, especially in the Midwest/rust belt. He will also probably legalize/reschedule weed before the election. That would give him such a large boost, it would be insanely stupid for him not to do that.
As for the senate, the map is not good for democrats, and at most, they’ll gain one or two seats. Democrats need 60 votes to pass gun control. But never underestimate the ability of the Republican Party to fuck this up.

If the Dems run a relatively right-leaning democrat like Biden, they'll capture most independents who just want an adult in charge again. Meanwhile, if someone radical like Bernie runs in the general, he may well scare moderates back into Trump's arms, due to the fact that, if nothing else, Donald doesn't want to make any fundemental changes to this country's economic system.
