Attainable carry closer in NJ

>Respondents are thus left with nothing except their argument that this case is a “weak vehicle” because it comes to the Court on a motion to dismiss. The Heller and McDonald Courts would have been surprised to learn that this feature of the case makes it “a poor vehicle for addressing a constitutional question with far-reaching implications,” BIO.12, since both cases came to this Court in precisely the same posture: review of a district-court decision granting the government’s motion to dismiss. In neither case did the absence of a “record” hinder this Court’s review.

It also calls out the lower courts for their treatment of 2nd Amendment cases:
>Since Heller and McDonald were handed down, many lower courts have worked tirelessly to empty those opinions of any meaning.
>Since those decisions were handed down, the lower courts have flagrantly defied their instructions in case after case, rejecting Heller’s textual and historical analysis in favor of “a loose form of ‘interest-balancing’ in which the state always wins.”

On the circuit split:
>The nub of the matter is this: while the same Second Amendment formally applies in both the District of Columbia and New Jersey, ordinary citizens residing in the former jurisdiction may bear arms for the core purpose of self-protection, but those residing in the latter may not.

wtf is this towelhead?

In response to "Petitioners offered no data or even allegations on the percent of applications denied—whether 95 per-cent or 5 percent." in Grewal's brief:
>The number of denials is irrelevant for an independent reason: whether a citizen applies for a carry permit is obviously influenced by whether he thinks he is likely to obtain one. And after decades of insistence by New Jersey that ordinarily-situated citizens need not apply, most citizens who do not face specific, documented threats have likely gotten the message and will not waste their time and money submitting the requisite $50 application fee, three character references, evidence of familiarity with safe handling and use of handguns, two sets of fingerprints, four photographs, and a consent for a mental health records search, all to file a futile application.

Thank you OP. The Court has drastically changed for the better.

NJ attorney general. Short of it all.. Carry laws in NJ are impossible to get. ANJRPC (NJ's NRA branch) filed a lawsuit about the carry law being unconstitutional. It went to the SCOTUS. SCOTUS told NJ explain themselves. Towelhead pretty much said "ignore the lawsuit, we give carry permits to police and politicians.. so it's not like we 'banned' carry". Said someshit about the percentage of denials. This specifically pointed out that nobody even bothers applying because theyll never get it, waste $50, and be put on a watch list of people that were denied carry permits for reasons.

Absolutely. This may very well result in constitutional carry anywhere in the US.

is nj ccw in response to italian mafia stuff or jewish mafia stuff?

surprised they had 15 round mags for so long. the hollow point thing is weird though muct be jew judges.

If NJ is ever going to do anything positive for the country, it's this or gtfo.

Grats, you've still got a way to go, but this would be a huge cultural win in NJ, where guns are banished to the homestead. Hoping SCOTUS hears this one.

Trips of truth. Recently read an article on Thomas's time coming because he is the senior member of the court. I'm inclined to believe it, I've seen him give a talk and he is tired of much of what is coming out of lower courts. Giving his hatred of Wickard v. Filburn, his concurrence in Trump v. Hawaii and other oversteps of government power I have alot of hope. That and Barr is a complete savage. His Senate hearing was very entertaining.

1924 Ny Times bashed NJ for not having any gun laws to distract from their mafia alcohol bootlegging problem towards NJ's bootlegging problem

ahh okay jew york garbage.

Trips confirm. NJanon here desperately hoping for this to make it through.

Checked. Although i don't think it will go that far. At most we might get nationwide shall issue carry. If the court takes the case that is.

Wtf? I thought sikhs were based

towelheads were never based

>brown people
>based
>ever

Mance v Barr (ban on interstate handgun sales) and Pena v Horan (challenge to California Unsafe Handgun Act) have both been put on hold by the Supreme Court. They only put cases on hold when it's expected that there will be a major change in law from another case. Only active gun case they have right now is NYSRPA v City of New York which is about transporting handguns. It seems likely that the ruling they give in that case will probably establish handgun ownership and possession as a constitutional right that can't be banned or significantly regulated.
New York City told the supreme court the other day that if they dropped the case they would allow people to transport guns without having to get a permit. The supreme court rejected their request.

They're not Muslims. Kinda generally nice people. Add brown, add politician, add lives in NJ.

Sauce for shiposting purposes?

Exactly. The red ticket is strong

Yeah, that's probably more likely. Just in time for the CCW permit price to go up to $400 here. Everyone was wondering why the faggot governor was pushing for that, when literally only police and politicians get issued them. Maybe they seen this coming and realized they dont have a leg in the fight. There's already motions for suit prepared if that happens and they're using the "if you say requiring IDs to vote is discriminatory because minority cant afford a $5 ID, how is this not discriminatory? " argument

Awesome. Nj AG actually said SCOTUS should ignore this case and use the decision from the NYSRPA case. ANJRPC argued that has no fucking correlation to this

Just look the cases up on the supreme court's website. Last update for Mance v Barr and Pena v Horan was on April 12th when they were put on hold. And the last update for NYSRPA v City of New York was April 29th when New York City's request to drop the case was denied.

Based in the sense that once they outnumber you, they will take you as a slave.

>The supreme court rejected their request.
lol, well, you don't fight a case all the way to the SCOTUS and then pussy out after getting on the docket, guess NYC will have to eat that shit sandwich

Thank you.

NJ's request to drop the case was actually in early January. SCOTUS denied it. Gave nj a deadline to explain its position, nj waited until the deadline and requested an extension. It was granted and they responded with the "we do issue when we feel like it" and requested again they drop the case. ANJRPC responded Friday and tore the AG's position apart

Now New Jersey is going to eat some too. Best part is they took it to the NJ 3rd circus court and they pretty much ignored it. That opened the door for ANJRPC to take it to the supreme court

I concur, the Barr Senate hearing is one of the most salty deposits we've got yet.

William the Barrbarian. The man who told the Senate how it is and the House to frig off. Kamilia Harris's questions were disappointing. Too many layers of double speak and irrelevant babble about ethics committees which are ultimately redundant. I look forward to the gutting of the administrative state.

He's super matter of fact too. Its great

So... it's just a request for a writ? Yeah, let me know when its granted. Otherwise I'm going to assume SCOTUS sticks with their unofficial position of not taking gun cases.

JUST. CARRY. YOUR. GUNS. ANYWAY.
anyone saying you can't is being tyrannical and deserves to be shot.

Exactly. Thank you for pointing this out.

What a bunch of bastards.

>establish handgun ownership and possession as a constitutional right
But user, we already have that. It's called the Second Amendment, and Heller upheld it.

this desu

in their own land maybe
Here its a liberal politician from a big city so kinda defeats any credit.

Also literally not a sikh, since by their religion sikhs are required to be armed.
Thats why so many kept knives / swords in their turbans.

Before Heller, NJ's argument was "the constitution doesnt apply to new Jersey." They literally said that in court. Federal court said of course it does, and the pieces of njs gun ban have been falling. Slowly, but still..
