The Northern Alliance took Kabul with assistance from SF and ST. The could probably hold it indefinitely. The problem isn't holding Afghanistan, the problem is that we never took the Southern half of the country and the "government" there doesn't give a shit about what's essentially a giant lawless portion of it still run by Taliban.
