/MSG/ Military Surplus General

What's in the mail edition. Type 46 should be here in a week, and I'll pick up a bayonet within a month. What are you fuckers buying?

milsurp is gay

Have you ever thought maybe you're the gay one? Introspection is important.

Attached: 1475290235678.jpg (480x480, 24K)

You have no idea.

Attached: 20180814_174544-1470x3024.jpg (1470x3024, 1.61M)

Who made your M1?

>What was in the mail
1903A3 parts I got in a few days ago. Finally went about bringing this thing back from the bubba. At least, as best I could. Feels good man.
Overall it cost me ~$550 for this project, including initial rifle purchase.

First for Garands

>pic related

absolutely disgusting after pic.

Standard products receiver with an Underwood barrel. No guarantee it left the factory that way, but standard products did receive a large shipment of Underwood barrels mid 1943, which lines up with this one. You're doing God's work user. Pic related is my only current project.

Attached: 20190506_204218.jpg (4032x3024, 3.56M)

That looks incredibly painful. What went wrong?

Attached: jazz 1.jpg (540x720, 106K)

At the end of the day I dont know, and that's what concerns me. The stock is at least ~102 years old and has 4 different serial numbers stamped, so it's seen a lot. Throw in the fact that M95s, especially short bois, are hard as fuck on stocks and I guess she just went. I've got the glue setting and I'll shim the rear a bit, but beyond that im at a loss.

Attached: 20190506_210021.jpg (4032x3024, 2.86M)

Anyone have any experience with the K43/G43? My LGS just got one in and I'm trying to figure out the manufacturer and possibly month of production. Mostly trying to find what symbol/letter this is that follows the serial #.
>pic related

Attached: K43.jpg (977x819, 64K)

I suppose it's not completely unexpected that some of these old girls will just break at random times. They just need good homes.
Hopefully it stays put. How much would a replacement stock run you, if you could find one?

I'm eyeing a Bulgarian Mannlicher, but the crest is faded, so I probably won't get it. On the other hand I'm thinking about getting a couple more AR lowers before I-1639 kicks in.

Attached: GRE - 1930.jpg (2560x1440, 1.09M)

I don't know. Stock prices are wild, but probably $150. Worst case scenario I'll send it to that user that works magic on stocks. Then If I really want a shooter I'll buy a M95 long. This won't be the first surp I've sidelined for stock issues

Attached: 20190113_144806-3024x1470.jpg (3024x1470, 1.39M)

This was in the mail until about 10 hours ago.

Attached: 20190506_193039.jpg (3834x809, 2.21M)

But lowers aren't affected by 1639?
The only thing they're affected by is that separate stupid FBI directive about background checks, but that affects pretty much everything until Washington can get their shit together with a single-point contact background check system.
So why the lowers now?

Nice spaghetti gun. Is that a 91 TS?

...

How long will that last? That's the question. You know Ferguson is gonna start banging the drum sooner or later once he realizes that people are buying lowers still.

I'd rather get in before the rush.

Attached: YUG - M48B.jpg (2560x1440, 2.34M)

made in 45 but that receiver and bolt look off since most k43s have that unpolished look to them.

Aye. Wife has been asking for one for months, and I wanted it to be a WW1 correct TS, so that's the latest addition. Might pick up a cavalry carbine later this month if I'm lucky.

Attached: 20190324_094925.jpg (3123x941, 2.27M)

Nice. A cavalry carbine is on my list somewhere. I do enjoy foldy bayonets

Attached: 20190103_153145.jpg (4032x1960, 3.9M)

I like military surplus.

Should I sell my FR8 in 308?

Do you want to sell it?

Attached: SPA - FR 8.jpg (3521x926, 1.94M)

Fucking no. They are cool and a real rare odd construction.
Latest Mauser Evolution, cromed barrel, peep sights, .308, dat bayonet.

Not hurting for money. I do have the sling and bayonet but not a matching bolt which sucks.

It does kick like mule, and I'm getting into home built guns since I just finished my sten.

In the mail, fellow gentlemen, is:
Budapest M95 carbine
Swiss G96/11
Steyr M95 longboi Bulgaria

if autism strikes a long and a short berthier might join in.

i need another gun locker (again) btw.

And make you eat it.
That will teach you to shut your whore mouth.

well done.
im currently working on a spanish cavalry carbine (like a swedish m94 but in 7x57) but i cant find no spanish parts like stock or handguard... and swedish carbine parts are crazy expensive.
any idea where to get such stuff?

Attached: img_0611.jpg (750x500, 53K)

Scored this 1898 Krag. Any one know where I can find a stock?

Attached: D72F3B70-C6FB-416B-8D94-0F5FF2E860FF.jpg (2551x1356, 1.09M)

Original? Good luck. Reproduction? There are a couple places that make them, but they aren’t cheap. And I think the nose caps aren’t easy to find either.

I'm not bad at woodworking so I'm thinking maybe of splicing in a new forearm. That looks to be the extent of the sporterizing.

Can anyone tell me the condition of this Swedish Mauser based on the stock plate? They want $650 for it.

Attached: 20190507_112013.jpg (4032x2268, 2.8M)

What's with all these people finding Bulgarian M95s lately?

No. Because that disc was probably put in more than half a century ago. So any information on it is probably no longer valid.

What bayonets can a m95 take? I assume alot of different countriesmade a few give how much they were passed around the balkans post great war

I just recently emailed starline about brass for 7.65 long and he replied they're still planning on it but don't have a lead time fyi

Add about 200 more neetbux pal

Attached: IMG_20190429_182826.jpg (2983x2160, 2.57M)

Good, more time for me to acquire the ugly 35S for cheap.

>What bayonets can a m95 take?
Those for the M86/88 and M95.
>I assume alot of different countriesmade a few
You'd be wrong. The Balkan countries that kept using them after WW1 were largely those that used them before. Otherwise (like in Jugoslavia) they were substitute-standard and reserve arms and not much effort was put into supplying such troops with bayonets, thus those that were already extant from the war sufficed.

Attached: KofSCS_soldier_M95M.jpg (760x768, 131K)

you can buy those disks.. and give the rile any sell-condition.

Your Wobbly Boi shaved like an American porn star?

Mine is

Sadly yes.

Here's the Kropatschek version.

Attached: Reloading 8x56mmR Kropatschek.png (1056x1632, 1.07M)

What do you shoot in it?

A. 455 Webley
B. downloaded .45 ACP
C. downloaded .45 auto rim?

Attached: IMG_0792.jpg (3648x2736, 1.6M)

Attached: BRA - M34.jpg (2560x1440, 1.02M)

>What do you shoot in it?
Nothing yet. Can you even fire .455 if the cylinder's been shaved?

Attached: Webley_MkVI_04-24-2019_D.jpg (1200x800, 960K)

What's the best way to tell if they've been shaved?

Look at the serial number on the cylinder of both and pic related. That will tell you pretty quick

Attached: Mk VI (7).jpg (3385x2317, 1.66M)

couldnt change the rear sight?

I'm told .455 will work if you use moon clips to make up the headspace. Though on yours, there might be enough cylinder meat left to work as-is

I found a small cartridge company that is willing to down-load .45 Auto Rim to .455 pressures, working out a deal now but it aint cheap.

Its a shame Evil Roy doesn't sell its LRN .45 ACP anymore, that worked just fine

Something to check for: Will full-moon clips sit flush with the cylinder face? Mine did not, but will with half-moon clips

Attached: IMG_0789.jpg (3648x2736, 1.57M)

I'm thinking of picking up a mauser pattern soon. Should I get just a normal M48, or a K98 rebuilt into a M48?

The M48/K98s are like $200 more than just the normal M48s. Is having Mod 98 stamped on the receiver worth the extra money?

That's up to you at the end of the day. The yugo built yugos are fine quality, but the added history is neat

Only you can decide that. My opinion though: If you're asking the question, get the cheaper one.

Attached: YUG - 1924.jpg (2560x1440, 1.01M)

Haven't people worked out loads using cut down .410 shotshells loaded with slugs at low pressure?

If I just want something to chew through cheap steelcase 7.62x39 is an SKS still a good option? I know an ak is better and only a few hundred more but I'm peak poorfag

SKS is fine. They aren't nearly as cheap as they used to be though.

Unfortunately now days, the cheapest original condition SKS’s are like $400, which would be Yugos and Chinese. You can find deals for under $400 but $400 is the going rate. Bubba’d ones can be had around $300 or less.

Attached: A206307F-7AE8-44BA-94F5-701769E4695E.jpg (3264x2448, 2.98M)

Right, I know it's expensive compared to the days of old but a $400 Yugo is cheaper than a $650 wasr-10

Got a TTC from Aimsurplus in the mail. Was going to go to Sweaty Ben at first, but his prices for shipping are fucking retarded. I've been wanting a TT-33 for a while, but wrote it off after seeing the prices on Gunbroker for even a basic bitch TTC.
I was done with milsurp after getting my obligatory slavshit gun but I really want a TT-33 so I took the milsurp plunge again
.

>done with milsurp

Boomerposting.

armslist.com/posts/9808895/corvallis-oregon-rifles-for-sale-trade--mas-36-collector-special-

Another slurp thread I see.

Attached: British No.4 Mk.1 stabby.jpg (3000x954, 710K)

I like Garands in general and mine specifically a whole lot, but boomers really do have a slavish devotion to them. I went into my LGS last Thursday, and I saw a nice looking Steyr M95 carbine on the rack. Couldn't see the tag, so I asked the counter boomer how much it was:
"$499.99!"
I told him that that was a bit higher than what I was hoping to pay. He puffed up his chest and said, and I quote directly,
"Well, if it was mine, it'd be fifty bucks! Ain't none a those foreign rifles worth nuthin' to me! Now Guh-rands ... I like those. Betcha never shot one, have ya son?"

Attached: IMG_20181222_161016_02.jpg (4156x1870, 3.1M)

Did it have a Bulgarian crest by any chance?

Also yeah, boomers are something else. I'm nationalist as fuck, but that doesn't mean I don't understand the utter obsession with Garands.

Attached: USA - Mossberg M44 US.jpg (3578x728, 1.72M)

Nope. Just a standard, force-matched and converted carbine. It was pretty though, but not pretty enough to warrant dropping twice what I want to pay for one. I go to that shop maybe once every four months, I usually just make a regular circuit of the pawn shops, but they're starting to really go downhill:

>$529.50 for a chopped up Spanish Mauser
>$800.00 for an SKS with a shitty AK mag mod

One has had a spam can of Romanian 7.92 LPS ammo for $200.00 for eight months, I'll see if I can get it for $125.00 next time I'm up there.

Hmm, well fuck. Just checked my local classifieds, an a guy has a 380 round can for $100.00.

Yeah, pawn shops are pretty bad in general, but you never know what you're going to find.

Attached: JAP - Type 99 Last Ditch.jpg (3779x777, 2.03M)

Obligatory mention of pic related, a Finn Capture '37 Tula that I got at one of those pawn shops for $200.00 last July because they thought it was a Type 99 Arisaka.

R8 my current Slavaboo wishlist

>WASR
>Mosin (been eyeing the Ukranian ones sweaty Ben has, but I'm waffling)
>Yugo Tokarev
>VEPR-12

If you're thinking about Sweaty Ben's raifus you best hurry.

Get a real Tokarev instead of a Yugo knockoff. Sweaty Ben and AIMSurplus have Romanian ones at the moment.

Those Ukie ones are fucking shit

Yeah, just waiting for the next paycheck. Are you referring to the Mosin specifically?

Ok thanks. Will check that out.

Yes, an user the other day said they're "basically bubbad" but what else? Details plox

Yeah. There's no way to know when he's gonna run out of stock.

They threaded the barrel and driled the reciever for a more modern scope mount, plus stamped the fuck out of ever part with Ukrainian shit. There isnt a lot of information on them, but more than likely the modifications were done within the last 30 years and were only done to try and make it more appealing for civilian purchase. So it basically a Bubba, which really takes away from the historical value, but tbf they are apperently "mosin snipers" and you can actually mount scopes on it for use for like hunting and shit

Pretty sure you're in the wrong thread, but what did you buy that you're so autistic about?

I havent bought any surp in about 6 months since I hit my last surp milestone
I dunno where i should start up again. Perhaps another countries worth of standar issues? weirdo carbine length guns? blackpowder cartridges? Not sure where to start from again
