In the context of the "video game", this is a question about weapons research. The question being, "does a video game developer research how night vision/lasers and firearms work together?"

Asking /v/ wouldn't be appropriate.

...

...

the answer is obviously no.

...

>>>/l/

Reeeee

maybe they just haven't modeled the laser modules yet

This is what you find to bitch about. You know they are actually simulating night vision and not just adding a lense to the game? Look at the rest of the gear, it looks sharp, and the graphics are fucking tits. OP, you’re being a real fag on this one. Also,

its a fuckin video game lol. you want to really get triggered, go play rainbow six vegas and watch where p90 shells eject.

Honestly I don't care if they little things wrong, I just want to campaign to be as fun as Modern Warfare's was back in 07.

There isn't any more effort put into these things than the theatrical and visual effects necessary to convince tranny faggots to die for israel and the spicnig cycle.

The lighting looks really good.

i want her to hug me and tell me that everything will be okay

I don't understand, is there a reason why an IR laser shouldn't show in footage filmed with night vision?

The guy clearly has no PEQ box on the gun. The laser shines out of nowhere.

Is there a reason it couldn't be a smaller unit?

A lot of release trailers are made using WIP assets. If I remember correctly, the MW2 release trailer had the Shadow Company soldiers looking more like CIA spooks in suits using G3's instead of operator types. I'm guessing they just haven't modeled the laser module yet, as mentioned before.

call of tduty is the same exact thing as madden

do the least possible work every year to sell a new copy of the game

no weapons research, story line is hamstrung at best

minor texture improvements and lighting imrpvements to feign adcanving tech

I wonder how her hard muscular abs smells like...

sage

You can see the exposed rail section. Theres nothing there.

There's an angular object there.

What are they even trying to do with this game?

>r6 siege female strongfat spec ops
>that r6 siege ump reload
>what we let em do to rainbow six

>graphics are fucking tits
my man, shit looks cash, the fooocking britbong feel to it makes me fucking diamonds and quite frankly, for the first time in a decade i feel honest, down to earth hype for a rock solid looking operator fantasy game. Fucking real shit

Attached: 1535762809924.jpg (406x397, 11K)

That's probably because the model glitched out at the last second and the people arranging the footage montage for the trailer didn't notice it. It's quite common in Alfa builds and Beta builds for shit like this to happen. Take Call of Duty Black Ops 3 for instance, in the penultimate chapter, the main antagonist drives a knife to back of his neck but the blade itself it's simply not there, you can see the hilt in his hand, but for some unknown reason, the blade is a different model altogether and the game forgets to load it.

Hmm, now that you mention it, it sorta looks like it. I'll watch the trailer again to see if I can get a hi-res screenshot of it.

>game is literally set in Syria
cringe. The MW series worked because it was set between fictional factions in often fictional countries. Nobody cared about the invasion of Saudi Iraq in COD4 because it was abstract enough that it could have been anywhere. Setting it in a place where we are literally being told we should invade now with real factions (including literal white helmets) is just needless politicization. Also, this will be the second time in the MW games that London gets gassed, how bland.
>muh price!
he wasn't even that great, I cant believe this is really the singular thing to get people back into the series. Beyond the image of handlebars and a cigar, hes a nothing.

>The MW series worked because it was set between fictional factions in often fictional countries.
So suddenly the US, UK, France and Russian Federation are fictional?

Call of Duty got me into guns.

oh dont forget being able to carry huge barriers and breaching charges in a magic pocket and install them withing seconds.

Here you guys go

Attached: laser mounted on MCX Sig rifle.png (1920x1080, 1.94M)

No, pham, he's talking about that fictional non-Saudi Arabia nation invaded by the US at the beginning of the game.

more like faux-iraq

Don't be obtuse. There are no Russian ultra-nationalist/loyalist blocs, Czech resistance, no TF141, no Shadow company, Russian Illuminati, etc.

Yeah, but that was still heavily inspired by real Middle Eastern shitholes the US had invaded during the 2000's
Yeah, no 75th Ranger Regiment, no USMC, no GIGN, and no SAS existed either.

Here's another one

Attached: laser mounted on MCX Sig rifle.png (1920x1080, 1.55M)

>Yeah, no 75th Ranger Regiment, no USMC, no GIGN, and no SAS existed either.
Why are you being such an obtuse pedant? Like, whats it prove to anyone?

Russian Illuminati?

More like what do you gain from pretending the COD franchise has never ever used real locations, units, and nations in its settings?
>needless politicization
>western nations good, Russian ultranationalists bad
How is that any different from what COD has always done

Makarovs group, "the Inner Circle"

its a soft reboot of Modern Warfare, not a sequel.

Oh, I don't remember this at all

because the writing went retarded after MW1

>More like what do you gain from pretending the COD franchise has never ever used real locations, units, and nations in its settings?
Literally never said that. I just think including White helmets (a real organization with huge overlap in membership with Isis, who seemingly orchestrated the whole chemical attack narrative) as apparent victim groups is more grossly politicized than anything they've done before, previously its all been "inspired by" or "similar to", rather than actual groups we have or are fighting currently.
>western nations good, Russian ultranationalists bad
Those are abstractions, essentially action movie villains. Its not literally the Russians, in the same way western games never portray the PLA as an outright villain, often renegade sects of it or mislead on bad intel.

i'll wait until the game is out before making any assumptions about the plot
the white helmets could very well be the bad guys, all we've seen so far is a short, out of context clip.
its not like the series hasn't done some twists with "good guy" characters after all.

what "western" games have ever had the PLA in them?

battlefield 4
battlefield 2, iirc
I think modern combat did, too

BF2 and BF4

Possibly, but that wouldn't be in keeping with the current media narrative about them. I just hope it has the increased map ranges of Ghosts, but that wasn't popular so I doubt it.

sweden is the west?

Blackops 2 had them as a non-hostile unfriendly faction that could be made an ally.
BF4 had them as an enemy due to a coup, they become friendly at the end when you save their Bernie Sanders
Mercenaries 2 had them as neutral, only an enemy if you killed a bunch of them

Mate, they are THE most progressive west. Why do you think they let so many refugees in?

Anyone know what the weapons and equipment will be?

I might just get it if they give us mod tools or at the very least uniform customization (DCU and BDU at the very least) and the M16A4 (actually an A2 given the heatshield but whatever, it looked cool) with the M203 so I can be a 1980s/1990s regular grunt while all you other faggots are LARPing as Tier One try-hards. Otherwise, I'm just spending my money on PC upgrades.

>because the writing went retarded after MW1

This

MW2 was when Call of Duty really started going down the shitter with the appallingly bad story and stupid meme shit like music videos and celebrity endorsements.

>save their bernie sanders
holy shit my sides. that game was an overall abortion so i forgot most of what happened.

>its a soft reboot of Modern Warfare, not a sequel.

How the fuck is that supposed to work?

>mod tools
LOL
User content doesn't sell units, faggot. They had to patch COD4 so that servers no longer work, because it was cutting into MWRs bottom line. If people can mod fresh levels or equipment, they dont buy map packs or DLC.

seems like fairly standard gear
>mods for current day CoDs
nice joke, bud

>Unlike BO4, the new Modern Warfare will indeed have a single-player campaign, and it’s the main focus for the reveal today. As you might guess from the name, it’s not a direct sequel to 2011’s Modern Warfare 3, but instead a soft reboot that kicks off a new storyline with a few familiar, returning characters. The campaign will be split into two halves: in one you’ll play as a Tier 1 operator, a special forces soldier, and in the second part you’ll take on the role of a rebel fighter in the Middle East.

>One of the goals of the game, and its dual-perspective storyline in particular, is to show various viewpoints of a conflict. “We are telling a story about modern war in the real world,” says Jacob Minkoff, the single-player design director on Modern Warfare. “If we whitewash it, if we backpedal from it, if we show a world where the heroes fight the terrorists and win, you never see the impact on the average person, the collateral damage, or the morally gray situations that soldiers themselves have to face.”

Attached: Mw19.jpg (1920x1080, 292K)

apparently its a different engine too. hopefully it will be as long as all 3 modern warfare games and with all the co-op and spec ops mode. if not im not going to buy.

MP5s and MCXs obviously confirmed. They've said in articles that every gun is 3D scanned rather than traditionally hand modeled, so presumably no unobtainable or prototype guns like FADs and Type 95s.

man, imagine if they actually had the stones to make you play a durkadurka beheading dudes on camera and detonating carbombs on american troops

>Thunderous applause

>nordic countries aren't western countries
based retard

>nothern europe commie countries
>the west

based retard

Europe is generally considered the West user.

what about the MAC-11 that can somehow magically have 16+1 despite being open bolt?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Flashpoint:_Dragon_Rising

Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield (and its expansions) are peak Rainbow Six. Siege makes Clancy spin in his grave.

>and in the second part you’ll take on the role of a rebel fighter in the Middle East.
Well that certainly got my attention, gonna have to look into this now.

Attached: You have my attention.gif (245x140, 983K)

I hope this "edgy reboot" thing means they put in some actual impact with the shooting mechanics, and by that I mean some real gibbing and soft body deformation. Hell, even simple decals for GSWs would be nice. All the IW CODs have always been weirdly light with the impact of firearms despite the massive amounts of casualties. Treyarch CODs had some decent gore if I remember.

>play a durkadurka beheading dudes on camera and detonating carbombs on american troops
You're going to play as a peaceful moderate Muslim forces to fight against an oppressive dictator who is backed by Russia.

No modding etc in AAA titles in the foreseeable future. They make more money selling dlc etc. Besides its for the best, wouldn't want to bother modders with the super duper hyper advanced engines they use today. No one wants that.
tldr: modding is done for in big titles sadly.

metal gear solid, and call of duty for me

i wanted the famas and psg-1 IRL

yeah i get i
>All the IW CODs have always been weirdly light with the impact of firearms despite the massive amounts of casualties. Treyarch CODs had some decent gore if I remember.
IW always built newer version of their engine with each game and treyarch used and tweaked older IW quake builds for their games. also like i said previously, they are using a different engine now, probably unreal or maybe even cryengine.

aside from bethesda games (mostly because the modders do all the real work in making their shitheaps playable), and GTA (although I heard R* tried cracking down on modders)

the humans looks so real though, i doubt it will look THIS good at home

>probably unreal or maybe even cryengine.
yeah nah, both of those have a distinct "look" to them and i'm not seeing it here
apparently its an all in house engine

They have to add at least 1 new shooting mode, the above head shooting over the wall but still hitting it. While squatting.

Yup, as the other guy said, some kind of Kurdish or same type fighting the oppressive Isis.

>I heard R* tried cracking down on modders
oh yeah they did
IW can into graphics so the "look" engines have could be easily fixed. still curious though. quake engine had a good run but the shit is outdated. maybe hitscan bs will even get canned.

To add, Europe was the west before America was included.

yup, activision confirmed to be fucking with us

only the night vision scens look real rest of the game looks that that typical space shooter infinity war or w/e it was a few years back

Attached: cod mw.jpg (1920x1080, 219K)

is it going to be like those warleaks videos where it's non stop alu ackbar shouting

charlieintel.com/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-campaign-missions-walkthrough-overview/54423/

>russian drone kills civs in syria
ironically, that is what usa doing in syria

Siege is basically CS 2.0. At launch, they tried to adhere to the spirit of the old games in a dedicated to game, but player metas and the flood of casuals and their money quickly put an end to that.

the russians aren't exactly innocent of collateral damage either
looks like a standard 2019 london cop to me

Kek was going to say this.
Accurate depiction of a modern london cop.

Attached: 1555359184138.png (510x596, 467K)

>TIME TO PAY WHITE BOI LOOK AT ME I'M THE ENGLISH NOW

London has had a sizable Nigerian population for like 40 years, so a black cop is realistic. The problem bongs face is that while the Nigerians and poos integrated to the best of their abilities, the current wave of shitskins over the last 2 decades dont even try to.
