Not in the way the show portrays it, although I do have a little ritual with my gun where whenever I'm not busy with something else and my hands are idle I'll take it apart and reassemble it, operate all of the controls and stuff like that. I've never felt the urge to show it off or anything, and while I do want to buy more guns it's not such a strong temptation that I'd sacrifice money I need for something else to buy a new gun.

I fuckin bought my first gun (an AR) in march thinking that was it, I had my boogaloo rifle and won't realistically need much else.

Shortly after got a CZ75 and am now looking at a VZ58 even though I have to pay for school with everything I got left.

I've seen it with automatic weapons, people go into a zone. Doctrine is to count round for your rate of fire, I tell my gunners to count tracers. If you shoot one tracer per 3 seconds, your in rapid, 2 at sustain and 3 plus at cyclic. I have seen guys who were trying to count rounds get jumbled and losing rate of fire discipline.

So yeah, gun fever is a thing, just don't confuse it with obsession.

I've already got that covered, that's the problem. Got an AK, waiting on Arsenal to get some more in to get a nicer one. Got a long range bolt action (6.5x55 creedlets get out), got a 6.5 and 8mm mauser. Got all the pistols I want. Got a bundle of shotguns.

Maybe I need a Hakim, but that's about the only other gun I want. I'm thinking about an AR10 next though.

I think it's less gun fever, and just realizing what an amazing hobby firearms are. It's possible to support ownership and not like them though, my wife supports having guns, she likes when I carry, she feels safer with bedside weapons, she likes that guns let me fill a deep freezer with meat but, she hates shooting them herself and just can't enjoy them. I tried starting her easy on a little 22 rifle and teaching basic safety, she just isn't a fan of the hobby side of it, as a result most of the time I go shoot alone or with a buddy so she doesn't sit there bored with ear pro on.

In short, yes. My friends all decided to buy into the hobby almost exactly a year ago. Of the 4 of us I have bought the least at 2, and my other 2 friends have bought 5, 10, and 2 respectively. Mr. 10 is eying up another gun right now and I honestly don't know where he's getting the money

Yeah that works too, but I refrain from it because the guy that lost his count and almost got shot when he tried to return fire, case and point, the dude in my story was taught that method of Die Mother Fucker Die, pulling the trigger at each word for rapid fire. Taught that each syllable was 2-3 rounds and drilled until it was second nature, he just lost track of his belt count because he went into a zone and forgot how many times he said that phrase. I wasn't taught it, but I do remember hearing something about you saying 10-12 times and it means your belt is gone.

Fuck that number, just count if you shot 40 tracers, or guesstimate it, yank the rounds out of the box if you think you shot 30+ tracers and link the next box and continue to rock and roll.

one caviet of this gun is that it doesn't take standard mp40 magazines
instead it takes proprietary magazines
so if you were basing it on whether those would fit or latch in the magwell then no.
