Just did a quick trip to some old abandoned dock with a half sunk barge. No artifacts really

Hopefully this doesn’t come out sideways, phone posting. It was a bit of a climb down a ladder, this was the more dry end with just a bit of water
Ofc it did come out sideways cause phoneposters get the bullet. Kinda wanted to climb down this hatch thingy but I don’t wanna get stuck and drown. Maybe I’ll come back
There was some neat ladders, don’t have any good pictures of the outside I didn’t wanna get caught by anyone driving down the access road. I’ve seen the cops go down to harass druggies who use down by the dead end and fence
I did get a little wet, what are the chances this water has aids?
Oshit, nice
100% you have AIDS now OP
Hell ya, love these threads. Thanks OP.
F. I’ll leave my guns in a geocache if I go.
Thanks, this trip was quick, I was kinda scared of having the police catch me trespassing and searching me. There’s a submerged portion I wanna get to if possible but I’ll have to drag along a friend for safety purposes.
I live in WA State, I had no idea about Hanford, I'll have to see if some fellow kommandos want to join me for a challenge.
What part of WA? B-ham here. If theres others maybe we could do one of those Jow Forums meetups
Lmao bruh. its an active government nuclear site. There are armed security patrols. There are also unmarked deposits of extremely radioactive materials.
Dont fuck around on the Hanford site property.
Op, you should be careful. People have died entering compartments of rusty barges or ships that were sealed for a long time. The rust consumes all the oxygen in the trapped atmosphere.
I have an Oxygen reader I use for occasions like this. That being said a lot of the compartments were opened to the air as the things full of holes.
I live in a very innawoods area and Im thinking if I should go to the nearby swamp where I might find artifacts and abandoned camps or the stream in my lake where I might find some old wooden boats and abandoned structures. Help me choose one, will post about it later
I looked it up and it appears they've put a fence around every structure now. Not exactly abandoned anymore.
Also I'm so sure that there are armed patrols around the abandoned high school. That's why you bring a geiger counter silly, it's the stalker challenge for a reason.
Pierce County.
Where at? How did you find somethin like this?
It’s an old wreck near me, I saw it when I was fishing with my dad one day and looked up the area on maps to find out if there was a road. There was so I scoped it out and it’s mainly abandoned, junkies use the road and cops drive down to catch the junkies so it’s kinds risky cause the cops here are fucking nerds.
Not sure what youre talking about with the abandoned high school and such. Its an active federal nuclear site. There is a DoE armed security patrol there 24/7. You dont wanna fuck around there.
There's the Hanford SITE, and there's the Hanford zone. The labs and cleanups and old reactor sites are obviously guarded and or in use, but there's old remnants from the town that still stand.
Ok. Thank you for clearing that up.
I have poked around some abandoned military housing before. Not a big deal. Doing so armed is always a little risky because it could turn a trespassing warning into a breaking an entering charge if the police are angry enough.
I used to live in Monterey California. In the 1990's Fort Ord closed and it was one of the largest military installations on the west coast. I got to explore some barracks before they were fenced off, and there are complete neighborhoods fenced off and out of sight of the police, but how interesting is a bunch of empty houses from the 1980's really.
I drove past a very abandoned and military looking complex in south eastern california a few years ago.
I just scanned sattelite maps near Edwards on the route i took till i found it.
Apparently i was right, it is an abandoned military complex that was then used as a prison and is now totally abandoned and empty.

Would make a really good urbex/stalker challenge location, except for california gun laws being terrible.
what's an artifact?
Having briefly read through that link, it appears it's still an active FAA radar site. It also mentions that the .gov is actively attempting to catch trespassers so be careful. I doubt they'd be delighted to see a group of armed men breaking into the site.
Basically any object that looks unique or is just cool to you.
How do I find a place to do this that isnt a felony?
There’s nothing there stopping you from driving up. Look on YouTube, lots of people have been there with no consequences. Don’t try to break into the FAA tower, and you’ll be fine.
That Federal Prisons notice is there to scare people like you.
