So they're gonna be subject to a 40% tariff by the end of the year?
As if Colts weren't overpriced already.

Colt Patterson

Attached: oct08_birth_of_a_breed_250.jpg (600x400, 113K)

true it will damage sales.
I wonder if Colt will invest in American steel and machining companies or if they'll migrate to other countries who don't have tariffs, or if they'll just stop selling guns at all.

what's Jow Forums's favorite speedloaders??

I prefer strips. I also tend to think that if you are worried about reloading with a revolver then you should just carry a semi auto.

The German ones that are basically unobtanium. You can get a few off of ebay now and then but that's it.

Anyone looking to start a small business could definitely make money copying these. This company I'm linking has not been able to get anything to market for years now.

I love my old Smith revolvers, wish I could find some original grips for the Model 29. Now I'm just looking for a 6" pre-lock model 586 and I'll have a nice little collection.

Does anyone else think that revolvers that don't have a full underlug look significantly better than revolvers with a full underlug with few exceptions? Most full underlug revolvers tend to leave the front half of the gun looking bulky, flat, and uninteresting.

No

yes

HKS, I like you don't have to push them down far enough to tap the ejector star, can be a problem depending on your grips.

can anyone bogpill me on redhawks?

Oh you mean like this one

I really want to make a stock for my Dan Wesson. Only 1 screw in the bottom of the grips to hold them on. Kinda wish I had a 15-2 just so I could do that and then have different barrels for it.

Attached: 7E3CFA90-FABB-431D-B4D3-6F5FBAA15EAF.jpg (1024x768, 203K)

A few people have done it before and it seems easy enough.

Attached: EE648D91-6DF0-4E76-B9A3-232CE7D5002C.jpg (960x720, 113K)

I like HKS because you only have to get the tips of the bullets in before you can release them, so they're a lot less sensitive to stocks that don't have an aggressive enough speedloader relief cut.
That said, in a perfect world all centerfire wheelguns would be cut for moon clips.

Attached: hks.jpg (1154x1154, 111K)

Half-underlug master race.
Full underlugs only look and feel okay-I-guess on 4" guns; any longer or shorter and they just look ridiculous and handle like shit.

Attached: wm_7435127.jpg (3752x2000, 678K)

What of them?
They're sturdier than an N-frame and have a longer cylinder to handle full retard 340+ grain .44 mags, but not as tough as a Super Blackhawk or Super Redhawk.
I don't see much point to them since the Super Redhawk is objectively better at everything you'd want a Ruger wheelgun for (shooting nuclear loads, mounting an optic, being a chunky pig to absorb more recoil, etc.)

I think grip blanks are still floating around to make it easier. One screw is all you need but the tightness of the top of the grip where it wraps around the receiver is important. Pic related was handmade from a blank by somebody and I ended up buying it on ebay, then sold it.

Nice collection user. Love my N frame.

I would say the HKS loaders are the most practical. Dade loaders are fun but I would not rely on them as the retention is performed only by a spring around the outside of the body. They are very fast to deploy and load with but they will lose cartridges if you drop them.

The Dade pouch is also very neat as they drop into your hand as you unsnap the cover.

Dash Two Master Race.

I will add my 29-2 to the lineup.

>will an American company either do the right thing and invest in America at a slight loss from prior profits, or just do the classic maneuver and swap to another nation to make an extra $1.50 annually
God I wish the former was more likely.

Some of my wheelie-bois, missing is my Hubert schmidt .22 single action and my Smith and wesson model 10.

Nice bodyguard; rare to see vintage airsweights with the finish in good condition.

Attached: rsz_img_20190110_212739037_hdr.jpg (2016x1512, 813K)

I don't have a preference, honestly. The only problem with full underlugs is they can make the gun muzzle heavy.

I picked up a 37 made in the 80's with the finish still in good shape. Don't know how it will hold up once I start carrying it frequently though.

Attached: pix745045837.jpg (638x425, 55K)

maybe Taurus can rent out some factory space to them

Thank you I actually wanted the airweight with the aluminum cylinder but this is nice, I even have the original box.

Too bad you could never shoot it. I think the only guns they made with the aluminum cylinder was the early pre model 12s and some of the .22lr guns.

I always preferred the 70s cop aesthetic.
But I wouldn't mind getting a nice 4 or 6" 586 one day

Attached: IMG_5005a.jpg (3000x1680, 2.47M)

My only other N-frame is this M1917.

what kind of finish is that?

That's really nice user. I saw a beautiful one just like that a gun show a few months ago but I didn't want to get another .357 before I'd gotten my Model 36. I love shooting my Model 19, try to shoot 100 of .38 through it every week and get nice tight groups on index cards at 10 meters. I can only imagine how accurate a nice 586 must be.
thanks user

Kind of a shit picture, but I saw these at a LGS yesterday. They also had some nice looking Colt detectives.

how much?
probably $2500?

looks like it would make a nice war hammer when you run out of bullets

Not true my buddy has a flat latch model 38 airweight with the aluminum cylinder, he only shoots wadcutters out of it but I've seen it in person.

Would it be dumb to get a revolver that's only used as a range toy/hiking gun/shoulder holster detective LARP gun cut for moonclips?

For reference, it's a 6" 41 Magnum N-frame.

Asking again for anybody that owns a newer production Charter Arms, and/or newer production Taurus. I have a hard time believing 350$ gets me a paperweight.

Seems like if I want a kit-gun 22 that won't kill me to trash or lose somewhere, and isn't a SAA Army clone, these two are the only options.

Other than buying out of production, like a High Standard or something.

Attached: index.jpg (275x183, 4K)

Yeah either would be fine for .22 but you can probably find used ruger or S&W .22s for the same amount. I would stay away from charter arms for their higher caliber guns though because they can't handle +p.

>they can't handle +p

Bitch about more carry-able phones having small batteries. Literally smaller and lighter than a J-Frame, using some aluminum parts.

You do realize they make a 357 magnum?

I did not because I'm not poor. I don't follow charter arms. Looks like their 357 is relatively new.

> I don't own one, or know anything, and am not familiar with
> nor did I even check what used Ruger and S&W tend to go for, but assumed you didn't either
> and I still think the comeback of "I have no concept of money management" is hot
> but if I don't comment on shit I don't know about to people who specifically asked for someone that isn't me, my pp will shrink

Attached: Pathfinder.jpg (1250x1400, 134K)

Just buy one if you're this salty about being poor and stop shitting up the thread.

I got a used sp101 for $400 a few weeks back. Learn how to look for good deals poorfag.

I shouldn't spoonfeed you but here you go

My S&W Model 28-2 Highway Patrolman.
It is my favorite thing.

Attached: 20180511_033705.jpg (540x720, 560K)

Is this entire board just bots?

Sick, I always that the Model 28 had the best proportions of any wheelgun
fuck off charterfag

Attached: 20180511_034142.jpg (2016x2688, 2.75M)

>fuck off charterfag
Bud(s), I asked for someone that owns one of these to comment on recent production quality, and/or OOP shit like High Standard, under 350$ or lower to minimize when lost. Replies are wrong caliber, wrong price range, involve waiting/luck, and you say you're doing me a favor.

I'm not here to validate your fetishes.

Does anybody have an older pin-pull H&R, or experience with the out of production German imports? There's a glut of these still around, but I've never seen them talked about.

Attached: floortiles.png (81x81, 21K)

I want one. N frame is the only one I’m missing (other than X frame which is retarded and M frame which is impossibly rare)

>I'm not here to validate your fetishes.
This board sexualized fighter jets and now I have boners when I go to air shows.

It would be dumb to ruin a collectible .41mag.

This Get a model 10 or a 64. There are millions of those out there. Go nuts on one of those: clip cut cylinder, shortened barrel, hammer bob and DOA conversion, custom grips.

Found this s&w mod. 36 at a local gun store. I think it's from the mid 50's from looking up the serial number.

Is this a good price? I've been wanting a snubnose 38 for a while.

Attached: 0D146CB0-BD78-45E8-9050-70AC4A603130.jpg (4032x3024, 1.96M)

It's not a collectible one though. It's a nu-Smith from the "Classic" line.

Where can I get some grips for my model 10?

Oh then have at it. Engrave dicks all over it.

At that price? Sounds like a steal, but I'm no expert.

Ebay, Gunbroker, Altamont, about a jillion other places.

It's in the ballpark. Kinda high if you were willing to spend more time looking but not terrible if you just got to have it now.

Here's the current "buy it now" sales on GB.
gunbroker.com/Revolvers/search?PageSize=24&Sort=4&View=1&BuyNowOnly=1&mfg=1000259&mo=3001894&Condition=4

Looking at a ruger wrangler for a cheap truck 22. Has anybody shot one of these yet? I own a single six and absolutely love it but I want something cheaper and not as nice to keep in my truck and probably never clean.

I love the old H&R 999’s
I need to just bite the bullet and buy one of my own!

Sweet thanks.

I'll think about it. Cool gun for sure I'm just not sure if I'd carry it a whole lot, and not sure how fun it would be as a range toy.

It's okay to shoot commies

Get a model 10 for a range toy.

this is it chief
's special
Can I post plastic boys if they comfy?

Me too user. Me too. Nice collection btw. I'm always looking/buying/trading old SWs. I never manage to have more than 1 or 2 at a time. After shooting for 20 years, I find tactical stuff boring/mundane and am passionate about the old Smith's and Colt's, it's all I browse at gunshows

The Model 36, or any J-Frame, isn't meant to be a range toy.

Buy it to collect or carry, but buy something bigger if you want something just for fun on the range.

Big fan of the Safariland ALS retention holster for my autoloaders, open top but has a thumb lever that deactivates the retention, super simple and smooth
is there anything Kydex like this for the Ruger GP100? Or what are good brands for leather w/ thumb-snap retention strap?

Attached: 2017_7378.jpg (600x600, 33K)

Fair price for the shape. Doubt it's mid 50s judging by the grips unless they've been swapped. I'd buy it

shopruger.com/GP100/products/3120/

Nice grips, they aren't original are they? If not what are they?

I know this is a noob question, but how come revolvers weren't phased by the advent of semi-automatic pistols and are still manufactured to this day? Is it a matter of reliability or aesthetics?

When it comes to defensive use, semi autos used to be a lot more ammo sensitive and ammo used to vary a lot more, to the point where 20 years ago it was still recommended to buy a large lot of whatever ammunition you planned to user for defensive purposes (as in all of the ammo you planned to carry for years) because the manufacturer could change the loading in the future and make it stop running well in your gun with no notice. Also, the thin lightweight single stack 9mm pistols you see today are a very recent trend and even the compact polymer frame .380 pistols you see on the market today didn't start coming out until the early-mid 2000s with Ruger releasing not their LCP until 2008.

Modern polyners are boring. It's like asking why doesn't everyone but Honda civics. Because sometimes you want to appreciate the mechanical art/engineering of something like a GTO or Corvette...if that makes sense? Plus modern aluminium ones are great concealed pieces, only recently has 9mm subcompact caught up on size/weight while outdoing capacity of a J frame
