Post/Discuss/Masturbate to Tanks, Tank Destroyers, Self-propeled Guns, or anything with tracks (or even wheels!) that silly people might call a tank. These seem to be going pretty well, so let's have another!
Anyone know anything about Norwegian CV90s? I've seen a few pictures of Telemark battalion CV90s in camo. I know Norwegian CV90s come in plain green but these ones are more interesting.
It's a mark 1 so it's possible to build a model of it out of the box from the 1/35 Hobbyboss kit. I like the Finnish Mark 3 but it needs modification because there's no Mark 3 in model form
Well, it's on the Finnish model, not the Norwegian, but here's this: >youtu.be/ffq7ZrIzKIc

Hey does anyone have anything on amphibious M26/M46 Tanks? There's one with a snorkel at 0:07 of this webm and I've never heard of a M26 with a snorkel before.
Well i know a lot about them, but it kinda depends on what you are wondering about

Mostly about the camo. Why only some Telemark CV90s have it? How many of them have it? Was it a temporary thing or is the camo still used?

I don’t mean to be a negative Nancy, because I love /thg/ as much as everyone else, but I think OP is missing the point What separated /thg/ from your run of the mill tank porn thread was the dialogue that OP started. OP would always have a well thought out and amazingly well researched piece to go along with his photos This is just a tank porn thread with some anons trying to keep discussion relevant
OP here; I do agree this this is really an imitation of the og /thg/. Despite how much I love AFVs, I'm not nearly as well versed in the topic as the old tank thread guy, nor do I have the time to devote to the research on current events for every thread. What I do have is a fuchuge collection of images and available research sources on AFVs. So, yes, this is pretty much a rebranded tank porn thread. That being said, I very intentionally chose to call this /thg/ rather than simply tank porn in the hope that it would help create a more discussion-friendly environment. While a proper return to form would be nice for these threads, I haven't seen one in ages. Tank threads, to begin with, are not as frequent as I feel they should be, and so my intention was to get into the habit of keeping one of these alive at most, if not all times. My intention, in dumping images, is not only to provide high(ish) quality images for enthusiasts to enjoy, but also to spark curiosity; few things are more enjoyable for me than posting something obscure and having a fellow user reply "what the fuck is that?". >tldr; /thg/ is about education. Since I'm not an expert, I'd at least like to provide a place where we can teach each other.
>a well thought out reply >no criticism >no name calling What is this? On a serious note, I get it. I’m glad that you’re even taking the time to try to revitalize something that I held near and dear to my heart. I’m on board as long as discussion doesn’t take back seat.

These sort of threads are one of the only reasons I still come to Jow Forums. There's some good reference material being posted in them and I get inspiration when I see a vehicle I didn't know existed in the form it's pictured. Used to think that Abrams were boring but nowadays there are a bunch of pictures from different exercise of Abrams tanks done up in different camouflages.
Always glad to hear. Like I said; I want this to be a place where people come to learn. As incredibly fucking awful of a place as Jow Forums can be, I've learned tons of shit here, and I know there's more to learn and to pass on. I have a huge collection of reference that I've been collecting since I was a kid, and I'm damn proud of it. Call it selfish, but I want to share that shit, because it feels good.
Again, thanks for saying so. It's feedback like that that makes me want to keep this up. If we've got people on board to keep this thing afloat, I'm gonna keep making these threads. Like you said; there's stuff you find here that you might not ever know about. I post mundane shit that other people see and say "wow, I never knew they made that!", and that's awesome. As thanks, have you a sexy Abrams.
