I've had one for a few years. I'm not by any means an expert on firearms but I like it enough. I bought mine in .44 mag. In retrospect I'd have bought the 45/410. .44 is too expensive to shoot. I will say that almost everyone I show it to thinks its pretty neat so if that's what you care about its a win.
that rail kills the aesthetic
you can remove it
Blue Ruin/10
How much? Used is fine, too. I think it looks cool as hell. Cut the barrel down, hinge the stock. Sweet folding backpacker rig. Hollow stock for ammo/goodies.
I picked one up at a gun show and it felt cheap.
Id consider it only if its chambered in 45-70
I've got one in .45/.410. I live in a rural area on a few acres and it's my go-to for pest control.
The stocks are known to crack but that's a super easy fix so it didn't bother me.
what do you mean?
He means he picked it up and it felt no different than your mom, cheap, used, and easy
Revolving long guns are an interesting concept but I'd rather have pic-related tbqh.
I think they are cool as fuck but don't know enough about them to say if they are any good or not.
I love the aesthetic of revolver carbines but what's the point of front handguards when your arm will be deleted by cylinder gap blast
Somebody should make a shroud that mounts where the stupid rail does that guards one side from cylinder gap blast.
Or just wear long sleeves?
fell in love with it after seeing it in Blue Ruin
...that's not a terrible idea
Awesome gun should have been 454 capable
Or make a sealing system like the Nagant revolver. Surely it can't be that difficult.
You niggers notice there is in fact a piece that deflects the cylinder blast?
There would be crazy recalls and lawsuits if that wasn't there
Same. If they ever get off the ground.
Superior revolving shotgun coming through
IIRC that shield thingy deflects the blast back into the cylinder which can result in other rounds going off. At least that was what Samuel Colt (I think) found out when designing a mid 1800s revolving shotgun.
it tries to do what revolvers are good for, but falls short, the C. judge should be good for .45 colt, .45 acp, and .410 making it a nice rifle/shotgun or pistol/shotgun in the case of the judge. the problem is the rifling, it makes it bad for shot rounds because it makes a ring.
If I could improve the rifle, I would give it an interchangeable smooth bore or a partial rifle removable choke.
so my list of improvements would be:
>interchangeable barrel or smooth bore with a rifle choke
>develop a .410 full length rifle cartridge that the judge can handle, basically a .45-70 clone that is basically a .410 full brass shell
>make other caliber barrels and cylinders for other calibers that can fit the .410 frame, like .357/.38/9mm and a .22lr and magnum conversion.
>hell make a .223 cylinder and barrel.
this is what I would do with the C. judge to make it more viable and fun as a rifle/shotgun.
there are .410 lever actions but they have problems with loading short rounds like the .45 colt, in that the round can stove pipe easily even though the gun can fire it no issue.
you are right but the guard throws the blast up, not back, they actually studied that and it does work well in that regard.
Fair enough but I still prefer the gas seal solution from the Nagant. You could even silence the damn thing.

here is some video to analize
not saying you are wrong, but I think torus/rossi were looking for low cost solutions not mechanical complexity.

IV8888 demonstration shooting shot down a rifled barrel
Given a moment to think I would make it a Welby type frame with a take down pin in the leaver and sell barrels and cylinders so you can change them out and not have major issues.
I don't know if it's legal in MD.
Even though it's based off the Judge state police might rule it's a shotgun with a revolving cylinder thus breaking the Copycat weapon law.
>its a federal patent
>IIRC that shield thingy deflects the blast back into the cylinder which can result in other rounds going off.
How do you have internet access when you are clearly living in the 1850s?
he isn't wrong he just hasn't studied the rifle. it is a serious problem, that is resolved.
>shotgun
Rifled barrel means it's not a "shotgun".
Why are you silencing a nominally a .32 caliber revolver. To go hearing safe, which to the civilian is the point of a can...
>Sub-sonic .32
And in regards to gas sealing a wheel gun. Is it worth it when modern manufacturing makes the loss from cylinder gap nearly a moot point? Especially when there are far superior cartridges than Pieper or Nagant revolvers
Why was this among all things banhammered?
.45 cartridge that's 2" long...so .460 S&W magnum?
Not to be an absolute madlad but what if it came in a top break style...
It has a bore of larger than half an inch in diameter and due to the weight, size, bulk, designed magazine capacity and configuration indicate that it is in fact a military style shotgun and as such serves no sporting purpose.
>it is in fact a military style shotgun and as such serves no sporting purpose

Personally I think they're cool, but too much money for a sholdered revolver. I have a rifle and a revolver in .44 so ammo sharing is good for me.
I know user. Especially now you can get semi auto 12 gauges with detachable drum magazines and a shitton of picatinny rail accesories.

In regards to crazy caliber conversions, I wouldn't go too far. Otherwise you get this.

Personally I'd want it simple, one cylinder, two barrels.
.460S&W, 3"mag .410
>If the customer wants an overpressure wildcat cartridge, that's on them.
They're pretty fun, but I don't need to own one. The comb on them is absurdly high and makes using the irons difficult, and the actions on the ones I've shoot have been gritty. A buddy of mine owns one and it's pleasant enough, but just not a keeper for me.
my dad owns one and enjoys it a lot out in the country. he stuck a flashlight on it and uses it to blast raccoons getting into his shit.
I've owned mine in .45 colt/410 for several years now. It's light enough and reasonably accurate, but a bitch to keep clean. Also, no matter how much you clean it, 410 rounds will have problems ejecting and you'll have to use something to manually eject them, but 45 colt runs flawlessly. Personally, I wouldn't recommend the purchase to anyone because there are much better new/used guns in the same price range, and I will probably be looking at selling it or trading it for another gun soon.

Not a problem with the Circuit Judge.
I figure the goal was to keep it to standard "cowboy," ammo, with a little modern. I was just pointing the benefit of the revolver rifle/shotgun.
>.357supermag/.357/.38/9mm
>".460S&W"/.410/.45Colt/.45ACP
since it seem they are selling a "carbine rifle," play it up.
I really do want them to make interchangeable barrels and no one will do welby style in spite of its benefits.
>it is a serious problem
Not with cartridge firearms you fucking goober.
>muh cylinder gap.
>I wouldn't recommend the purchase to anyone because there are much better new/used guns
WHere else would I get my revolver rifle
The circuit judge is a bit gassy but it's not like you get annihalated by the gap on every shot. That would be retarded.
> verdict
Its alright. Tbh I wanted to hate it as a holdover for my deep hatred of edgy .410 handguns but it was fun to shoot .45 lc out of. Its really small, light, and handy. I'm not sure if it has a niche beyond being a curiosity gun, but it's ok for that.
>not posting the most aesthetic version
God what I would do for one. It's so silly its badass
What happens when you shoot a .410 slug down a rifled barrel? Any accuracy improvements over smooth bore?
Could you take a deer with a really hot .410 slug? A small, light 4x scope on something so short would make a helluva dense brush gun, no?
>At least that was what Samuel Colt (I think) found out when designing a mid 1800s revolving shotgun.
That was with black powder muzzleloaders you fucktard. Chainfires aren't a problem with cartridges.
>What happens when you shoot a .410 slug down a rifled barrel?
It's more accurate.
>Could you take a deer with a really hot .410 slug?
I've done it with Brenneke .410 slugs.
>A small, light 4x scope on something so short would make a helluva dense brush gun, no?
Yep. Or just leave iron sights on it. It's not like you need a scope at "brush gun" ranges.
shiiet
It looks cool

Meh. Interesting piece to have but a levergun is better.
You know of any lever .410 shottys which take 3" shells?
It is too much of a revolver and not enough of a rifle for my own taste.
>3” .410 bore
why not just get a 20gauge or 12gauge?
Nothing wrong with those either. But I like .410's, and I'd love to own a 3" .410 levergun if such a thing existed, so I was hoping you might know of one.
