I just moved to eastern TN (about an hour in each direction from the Tri-Cities, Pigeon Forge, and Asheville). Where are some good places to go shooting around here?
Also, Tennessee general, I guess.

There's a hole pretty neat trap range in White Pine, Tennessee called Hog Heaven Gun club. Not sure about their public rules but they have a couple big ATA shoots every year.
Cherokee National Forest has several free shooting ranges. It's a beautiful place too.

A trap range, you say?
ORSA is in Oak Ridge. They have a 1000yd range for long range stuff as well as idpa, steel challenge and 3gun
SWVAfag here. You guys ready to take refugees like me?
Don't forget that our lord lives here too.
Welcome to the hills, user. I live in the tri-cities, and is absolutely right. lots of good places to shoot and go innawoods.
Dude dont go to jacobs creek. Get a membership at kettlefoot or watauga and stop being poor.
t. chad bristolian
I don't, I go to Pond Mountain. It's literally all I need, a hundred-yard range with typically very low traffic.
Kettlefoot is 300 yards with a 1,000 yard in the works, rimfire ranges, plinking stalls, trap and skeet ranges as well. 24/7 365, all at the low low price of ~ $160 a year. I dont remember the price because it's worth not getting domed by randos or robbed on the mountain
Same user, I love being a member at kettle foot because there is a waiting list to join now. I am so proud to be a member of a stuck up club that no one can join ATM. It's like being a part of Corba Kai dojo
Stay butt blasted nonmembers
That'd almost be worth it, if I had the time to go shooting regularly, had anything to shoot past 100 yards, had a shotgun that isn't an untrustworthy piece of shit, and... well, lived ten minutes away. But, if my circumstances do change (god willing they will) I'll join you and your shooting club. Or maybe Unaka.
any anons a member of cherokee or unaka wanna give a rundown on either? I'm trying to decide which would be better for me
I might be interested in moving to Chattanooga. Anyone know how the culture is there? That super fast internet got me drooling, boys.
Id say move to outside Knoxville or Murfreesboro
blin
Why though? From what I've heard Chattanooga is a nice place. Quite a few more, ahem ..."urban youths" than where I'm from
I thought he was on the other side of the mountain?
Bubbling Springs in the middle of bum fuck no where north east tn is effectively a free range, open area reaches like 125+ yards? 5 dollars "parking", not too many know about it, so it's often empty, have had a lot fun days with friends of just blastin and fucking around
Another one is Wind Rock in Oak Ridge is pretty good, 2 pistol ranges, a 22 plinker range, and a pretty damn great 125+ yard main range, has a roof over the bench, really nice for when it's raining, and a lot of steel targets to go between on each course/range.
Also welcome to East Tennessee partner :D
Don't go to Chattanooga, I visited for maybe like, 2 hours? Immediately sketched out by the localsDo this, a lot more tame.
Can you elaborate what made them seem off to you? or was it just old fashioned hoodlum behavior?
Classic hoodlum behavior, and was sketched out mostly by how they always seemed camped outside of pawn shops
Damn. That's shame. I obviously wouldn't move anywhere sight-unseen, and I still plan to do so. I guess it's going to be knocked down a spot or two on my list. :/ I was thinking about Knoxville area too, but it was originally much lower on my list.
Bristol is a hellhole
Go make nice and hang out with Lucas I hear he’s got a nice range.
Lmao you're thinking of Kingsport. Bristol is decent

OP here. I looked around for a town to settle in for a while. At first I was thinking of Newport because it’s location is convenient, but apparently it’s pretty sketchy so I passed. Finally I settled on Greeneville - not in downtown, but kinda on the edge of town, with stacks of hay bales facing me when I look out my front door. Seems pretty nice to me. But I still have to figure out where the best places to go have fun within a reasonable distance are.
