Everyone post group pictures and tell us what your favorite is. Mine is a toss up between my pre war MAS 36, CZ52 handgun, or the K11. Turkish Mauser is fun too, stabbing shit with the bayonet is neato. I sometimes carry the CZ52, don't worry I've fixed the firing pin and made sure the decocker isn't gonna take a chunk of my thigh off. Also I'm the user that was restoring the arisaka last thread, everything is supposed to be here Friday. I'll keep /MSG/ posted if anyone is interested and maybe trigger the arisaka autist that was in the last thread while I'm at it. One day they'll all be unbubba'd, I give my dad shit all the time for cutting the mosin

Fuck all you fags for buying up the sks’s
Norincos are like 450 now

What are some good ‘surp sites? All my local stores are hot garbage and it’s getting a bit mind numbing combing through armslist and gun broker all day

M1, no doubt

Attached: IMG_20190601_025052.jpg (2824x1939, 864K)

Idk why but I really want a short boi carcano

Bought my first sks the other day. I don’t live in a free state so you’ll laugh at the price I paid for it, but I figured I’d get one before they go up again....at least 7.62 is cheap...

Well post pics cocksucker

discord.gg/QcmABY, here;s the Discord link because someone forgot to post it again.

Group photos eh?
Not sure what my favorite would be, probably a tie between my 1895 Chilean and my SVT-40. It's hard to beat a super accurate cock-on-close Mauser in 7mm, but it's also hard to beat a semi-auto 7.62x54r WWII battle rifle.

Attached: Surp family rifles.jpg (3264x2367, 3.66M)

I love my K31 and coveted one for years before I got one; it's fun to shoot, it's accurate for milsurp, and it's fun to ring a smallish gong at 500 yards over open sights. That said, my favourite is still my 1942 Lithgow SMLE - it's in great shape, it's a lovely looking rifle, and it's what I always wanted in a SMLE - a Lithgow, with matching numbers, in the year that Australia was in the most peril we've ever been in, with naval losses, and at the time, a non-theoretical possibility of Japanese invasion. It's an implement of war built to protect my country in the most dangerous year we've faced.

I find it utterly remarkable that for a fairly modest outlay of money, you can buy a piece of history and set of explosions inside it.

My posts aren’t showing up for some reason

It's so hard to pick one....

Top 5 are Winchester 1895, Mas 36, 1898 Krag, Mosin M38, and Type 38 rifle.

Attached: received_336140730478049.jpg (640x463, 112K)

I saw 2 1895 Winchester's at Cabela's last year, one in 30-40 Krag and the other in 30-06, but didn't have 1800 dollars on me to buy one.

Not all my surp by far but some of my mausers. My fav is my K98k, i really need too do a family photo

Check armslist, literally yesterday i helped my buddy buy his first gun which was a Yugo SKS for 350

If I had to pick just one I'd say the M1 carbine

They're such nice rifles. Like a luxury sedan compared to other milsurp.

I recently acquired a Mauser and an M44 Mosin. Never owned MilSurp before, so i'm looking for some advice.

The Mauser:
Overall its in really good shape from what I can tell. The bore has strong rifling but seems to have some rust. All the other parts are pretty great looking.

The Mosin:
Same story as the Mauser. Overall in good shape, strong rifiling, just seems to be some rust down the bore. Slight amount of brownish crap (rust?) on the bolt handle.

Any advice? Will they still function as a shooters decently well?

$230 for a 7mm 1916 Spanish Mauser any good?

Not sure if this belongs in here or /akg/, is there anywhere online I can get a replacement retention strap and scabbard for a Romanian type 1 bayo? I don't care about it matching, I just want it complete

Pictures would be nice. What kind of mauser? Clean the bores well and wipe down the bolt handle. They'll probably shoot fine
That's about par for the course on those.
Ebay or ak files

This is now 5 rifles out-of-date, but I my favorite rifle is still my Vz.98. It's decently accurate and it's so cool looking down that trench of a rear sight.

What models of Mosin and Mauser?

Attached: surps_07-28-2018_A.jpg (2930x1024, 2.75M)

Radom 1935 is stamped on it, WZ.29.

So when cleaning the bore, just like anything else? Hoppes, a patch, and a copper brush?

Radom 1935 for the mauser, and m44 circle 11 for the mosin.

got em off some pollock

Attached: 1516828846612.jpg (640x587, 400K)

Hoppes, wait a minute, brush, hoppes, couple dry patches
Check how the bore looks, see if the rust goes away and leaves some pitting, otherwise it was probably just crud and might be discolored
Then do it again except going until clean dry patches come out

What do you mean wait a min?

I'm retarded dude i'm sorry.

>Radom 1935 for the mauser, and m44 circle 11 for the mosin.
Cool. Polish fit and finish is generally quite good. Do the serial-numbers still match?

He means that you give the solvent some time to react with the lead, copper, and powder residue in the bore before you try to scrub it out with a patch or a brush.

Attached: WW1_service_rifles_10-31-2018_A.jpg (1600x1039, 1.59M)

The mosin was re-stamped, floor plate was electro penciled.

Does this mean it was refurbished at the arsenal from an older mosin?

God those are beautiful.

Now that I have the mosin and wz29 I'm starting to get the milsurp bug

>Does this mean it was refurbished at the arsenal from an older mosin?
Just means that at some point those parts with electropenciling were replacements for the original parts during a repair/refurbishment. They themselves may have come from other rifles rather than being new-made replacement parts.

Gonna do this, will report back soon

Question regarding wood:

Iraqveteran8888 says cleaning the wood with Murphy's and warm water with a pot scrubber is fine. Then a coat of gunny paste. Thoughts? what do you guys do ?

>Iraqveteran8888 says cleaning the wood with Murphy's and warm water with a pot scrubber is fine. Then a coat of gunny paste.
Hard no.
>what do you guys do ?
Plain warm water, a soft cloth thoroughly wrung out, and elbow grease. I don't use any kind of cleaning product.

Attached: T30_T38_05-28-2019_D.jpg (1200x800, 887K)

I might be able to trade a M&P Shield 9mm I don't carry or like to shoot for a M95. The M95 is force matched, other than that it is in decent shape. What say you Jow Forums?

>I don't carry or like to shoot
>for a M95.
Rifle or carbine/stutzen?

Attached: M95_08-07-2017_rear_sight.jpg (960x1280, 1M)

I don't know a ton about M95s versus other surplus guns. barrel is 20 inches which I think is the stutzen. Sights go out to 24.

Probably an even trade then, IDK what used Shields go for but it's worth something to trade a gun you don't want for one you do.

I traded a Remington 710 and $50 for pic related.

just bought my first milsurp in a year
>1952 Tula SKS
couple questions
why is my bayonet blackened/blued?

this is very clearly a factory refurb (an extremely nice one), does that make it any less valuable?

and what's a fair price for this rifle? seller had a yugo m59 for the same price and i chose this

im very new to the sks world, i only have mausers and mosins before this.

fugg:DD forgot pic
she's a beauty no?

Attached: 20190605_180915.jpg (2560x1440, 1.17M)

Pic related is the picture on armslist. I know value wide its fairly even. I just can't stand the shield and would replace it with a centurion APX when Beretta runs another "please buy the APX pretty please" rebate.

Its in 8x56 so I assume that makes it a 95/30

Attached: 9890022_02_hungarian_m95_budapest_8x56_st_640.jpg (640x640, 148K)

I'm looking for some a good flecktarn parka, preferably the sympatex variant but kommandostore totally sold out of my size, anyone know of a good place to get it? I've found plenty of places that sell it but don't want to get some ratdick quality destroyed one

Attached: af4.jpg (1200x800, 120K)

show us more. blued bayonet is always nice

why's it nice? what do you wanna see

Attached: 20190605_185316.jpg (2560x1440, 1.08M)

cause it was refurbished by the arsenal and blued, looks aesthetic.

Was it re-stamped at all? Like on the stock?

re-stamped? there's the serial number on the stock

I'm pretty sure that the bayonet was blued while being refurbed.

I donno if this was intentional or not, or just happened cause Ivan had too much vodka and didn't give a shit.

Anyhow from what I understand the blued bayonet are slightly rarer and to some more desirable.

Take a look at the serial number on the stock.

Any struck out numbers or restamped?

Pic related.

Sometimes they did this to remove old numbers and issued new ones to match the receivers.

what do you think the gun is worth in 2019

nothing is struck out
what do you think she's worth

Emergency stock help please.
A 1916 spanish I've been saving from bubba has some nasty shit on it, the BLO some guy put on it looks burnt and smells burnt. Can I get this out?
How to remove BLO in the first place?
Also, the wood is warped on the for end, messing with the barrel. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Soaking it in Acetone should remove everything from the stock.

Thanks man, any ideas on that warped stock?

Can’t help you there. Sorry, dude.

Darn, hope someone with some knowledge chimes in.

*on that particular issue chimes in.
The way I said it made it sound passive aggressive.

I've heard a soak in boiling water being recommended for a warped stock. Last thread I think. Good luck

Thanks.

Obviously its a Russian?

Assuming all matching numbers you would at least get 500 easily.

Did Jow Forumsweekendgunnit unironically post their faces again?

Praise, my brother

I’d fuck that picture...

Page 9 bump.
Got a job at an auction house two weeks ago. My goal for this summer is to walk out of there with at least one nice surp as a deal by the beginning of September. Maybe the dream of getting a nice Gewehr 43 or Luger or WWI 1903 Springfield will finally come true.

Attached: DWM Factory Cutout and 1918 DWM P08s.jpg (1846x2150, 1.79M)

Meant factory cutaway on the file name

hey nice. what else have you seen ?

Based and Christpilled

As of what I've handled, a good amount of P08s (all WW1), two P38s, a Steyr Mannlicher 1905 pistol, three K98ks, a BM59, a Gewehr 1871/84, a genuine No5 Mk1, a C96 red 9, and some Czech Mausers. There's also the display MG34 that has a dummy receiver but real everything else that I moved today. They're bringing in more guns tomorrow though so that'll be nice to see what they have. Not entirely Jow Forums but they have me describing and handling a massive Nazi memorobilia collection as well.

Why is this arisaka retarded? Am I actually retarded instead?
Apologies for being a noguns faggot but I just got this arisaka as an inheritance from gramps. The problem is, the bolt is completely stuck upright and won’t cycle no matter what. Also when I try to disassemble the bolt, the safety “knob” comes out attachted to the firing pin and I can’t separate them at all. All videos of disassembling the bolt that I’ve seen show it being trivial to do. What am I doing wrong? How do I fix this?

Attached: 1D2CE459-5FA9-4E0A-A5D1-D810F6C9CDE1.jpg (3256x2444, 1.88M)

Shhhh be quiet everyone, /MSG/ is sleeping! I wonder what it’s dreaming about?

Give the entire assembly a thorough cleaning. There's probably a ton of gunk in the action

Am new, should mineral spirits do?

That would work. Don't get it on the wood

Thanks /msg/ you guys have some really neat funs. I will now fuck off with my questions unless I really ruin things.

Low prices on surplus

Attached: IMG_20180309_045056.jpg (2627x3967, 2.12M)

Post your whole arisaka you fuck

You all need to buy GEW88s while they are cheap. Its the gun of the eastern front in ww1, the polish-soviet war, also boxer rebellion, Ireland, turk all sorts of weird small wars. It sits right into a mauser collection beside a 71,71/84 and 98s and exports

original brown besses,Sniders, martinis and swiss vetterlis

Nicely said.

Shut the fuck up I don't have one yet

>the polish-soviet war, also boxer rebellion
Nah.

I have debated buying one. how much fun are they to shoot?

How much are MAS-36 running? Are they worth it?

>local guy is getting old and wants to sell his stuff
>bunch of guns, surprisingly not bubba'd
>has a Luger from pre-WW1
>all matched and in really clean condition (even has a rich dark blue finish instead of being worn out to a silver gray)
>wants $1000 for it
Should I do it? I've got the spare cash such that I wouldn't be digging into any sort of savings or necessities. I just feel a bit bad putting that much money down on a gun as if it's irresponsible or something.

>Should I do it?
Yes, but go on the Luger forum and examine other examples of pre-WW1 P.08s to make sure the markings are correct for the time, the parts are matching, and it hasn't been refinished.

Attached: Webley_MkVI_04-24-2019_A.jpg (1200x800, 881K)

400-600 for post-war refurbs, 900+ for pre-armistice ones is standard. They're the best rifle in their class IMO so yes, worth it

Attached: 20190227_103929.jpg (3942x1190, 2.7M)

As you wish. I can post the numbers as well too

It seems kinda of worse for wear after being left in a humid Floridian closet for forty years. Also this may be a retarded question but i’m going to be cutting up a nice walnut tree later today. Should I save some timber and make my own repro arisaka stock just for funsies?

No, bubba. Keep the original
