>Chinese made, German repro of a Russian toothpick
I bought one of these hunks of shit, but idk what to do with it, the handle is terrible.
>toothpick
It's not even truthful repro.
The flat head on that is nice and can be used as a makeshift shovel, but how do you baton with a sawback?
You don't baton with it. That straight edge below should be used as an axe.
I have the shit one with the garbo handles though.
I also made the mistake to buy it. Seems like the steel isn't even hardened. I recommend you to get the short Herbertz machete. That thing holds up well for years of chopping and batoning now.
They made actual high quality repros in Russia now. Cost around $120
Lads, is Tashi Prism worth it or just an overpriced fashion accessory?
Is carbon steel superior? Who makes a good CS knife?
spyderco spin
mein neger.
whats the other side look like? I got the very first ones that came out. awesome little knife.
q u a l i t y
I see you are also a man of culture
What model Lionsteel is this?!? That handle looks sweet, love the ambidextrous design... Would you mind posting a pic with blade deployed?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how retarded would it be to carry one of these around for everyday use, assuming it's legal in my state?
ohhhh boy what kind of dagger should I get that's good to keep tied to the leg for places where I can't CC a gun. I don't really know of any good brands
It's the Osoraku-Zukuri folder (OZF-01) by Williams Blade Design. Here's a somewhat blurry pic with my dinner last night. Will post better after work.
Another with my Hisshou.
Unsure if weeb or actual singaporian.
If you are not like this guy you're good.
Zero, its really easy to use one handed and much more useful for the stuff you’d use it for on a daily basis. Ironically, its not well suited for tactical and hard use
Thoughts on CRKT Fossil for cheap folder?
Send a link, for I've never seen one exept for shitty SARO versions.
>Is carbon steel superior?
It's nice. I prefer the way carbon steel cuts over stainless.
>who makes
Morakniv is the best of the bottom line manufacturers.
Nice and detailed.
I see you're familiar with my work in the EDC threads. They don't call me the Sheriff of Autism Town for nothing.
not really repros if you're talking about Kizlyar stuff, more of an update without the goofy things like hollow handle
I got a Benchmade Grip as a gift. Is this any good? if I had to stab some crackhead with it otw to class at night would it break?
finna get a kabar dozier as a cheap practical folder. torn between cold steel american lawman/recon 1 for practicality and zt0350 for the cool factor
>0303
NICE
Not quite a frame lock, but I actually prefer back locks and also like the compression lock on my spidie PM2.
Does anyone here know if case knives are worth it? Not sure if 60+ USD for such a small boomer outdoorsman LARPer knife is worth it?
>fucking JOHN DEERE Jesus Christ
All I want are those instagrambergs to start making CF clips for Sebenza's again, but they're too busy collecting a handful of likes for their own line of garbage knives nobody wants.
>60+ USD
How about a sodbuster for like $25-$30? knifecenter.com
It's still a small slipjoint without a pocket clip, but it's kinda nice if you like that sort of thing. I wouldn't buy it based solely on practicality, but then again I could say that about almost any knife.
My Frames
It's a Nishijin.
Very nice. I always liked the Hinderer, but could never justify the price after reading some reviews. What does the other side look like?
What is the Benchmade on top? I used to remember what that was...
My two Hinderer ZTs (561 and 566cf) and the Benchmade is the 928 Proxy
>always liked the Hinderer, but could never justify the price after reading some reviews
same tbqh, would love a full size xm24 made by zt
I mean, pretty stupid big and heavy, but who among us is entirely immune to the lure of tacticool?
I...kinda want one. Is it too mall commando?
It's definitely Mall Commando. But I think it's neat.
get a fuckin swiss army knife
What Spyderco knife is this?
Guys, have anyone here been using Martinez folding knives? What are your opinions on them? I plan on buying a navaja like picrelated so I would like to be sure I'm not buying something useless.
Yes it is.
i looks like they did all they could to make the balde snap off at first use
This is a Jim Wagner RBB by Boker.
Trapper lock seems cool. It’s a good size, and can get one with a pocket clip if you want it.
I cant whip mine at work but I have pic related. Bought it entirely due to the companies name. Actually a pretty nice knife.
>ebay.com
Well, it's an interesting redesign, more authentic than other variations, but still far from being a complete replica.
Vor traditional they are relatively inexpensive and good quality. If you have an issue with the price red Ryder is great also.
I'm not the one you're replying to. RBB would've been my first guess as well, but the Böker RBB is a backlock (this one definitely is a linerlock), and this one here seems to have a thumbstud instead of a thumb disk. Aside from that the grip shape is different, especially visible at the flat back part (the RBB has a hump there). It's definitely a different knife, possibly with a custom blade regrind to give it that RBB blade.
I have a Mora Kansbol and a Buck 110, is there anything I'm missing in terms of versatility?
I have 0 folding knifes but I want 1 for housework.
Is a swiss army knife good for this task?
How do you like your Spin?
I always thought they were neat but worried that they would be uncomfy to hold/open.
Depends on what you define as "housework"
>best lock
Oh you mean back lock it's okay
opening boxed, food and non hard objects.
I'm not an expert in the subject, but a swiss army knife could probably do that. though I am not a fan of the fiddly two handed opening with the nail nick. I prefer one handed openers. If you want the multitool aspect, Leatherman builds a bunch of good one-handed ones. I have the Skeletool, but haven't used it much yet because as a one-handed knife with locking mechanism it isn't legal to carry here in Germany. So most opening of packages is done with my carry knife.
Im carry the fixed knife and the locking mechanism is kind of hard and the multitool aspect is good. Possible a swiss army knife with a polished mechanism is a good way
Just bought a CRKT Provoke to see if I'd like it for EDC, pic related. I currently carry a tiny Kershaw knife. I like how future the Provoke looks, but honestly, I'm not sure if I like it. It's theoretically an acceptable EDC, but I can't think of too many situations where I could pull it out to use and not look like I'm drawing a weapon.
I like high concept knives and I like minimalist knives. I hate framelocks but I'll bend on that one. I really like the look of the WESN Allman, which ships in July. It's also like half the price of the Provoke. The WESN also comes with a lifetime warranty, which I find very appealing.
Do you guys know of any other minimalist knives with strong profiles?
Do you
cringle
Guide me in quality knifes senpai, I spent my autism points on computers
>Guide me in quality knifes senpai
For what? Killing muslims, outdoor or larping?
Here's my favorite frame lock I have
>It's my edc
(Aside from my Kershaw and my case sod buster )
It's massive but looks like a traditional folder best of both worlds
>frame lock
It's a liner lock.
Two very different slipjoints I have.
Looking for half LARP, half EDC. Also I live in Baltimore.
The Douk Douk remains my absolute favorite knife.
My favorite thing about it is the size, it's so damn fucking thin, it fits inconspicuously in my wallet, and I can hide it in the fold of a bag, in the middle of a book, in my butt crack... literally fits anywhere.
I don't see how I'll ever upgrade. I'd like a similar knife I can open with one hand, and an actual lock though the slipjoint is remarkably tough, but there's nothing I know of in this category. Please don't bother mentioning the Mercator K55K, the steel is shit, it's not worth it. The Boker Plus Urban Trapper is the closest I found, and it's way too fat, not to mention a shit knife based on countless feedback.
>using a knife at all
>worried about weapons
Better carry around a nice sturdy credit card to do all your cutting then
okay Okay OKAY OKAY
youtube.com
I did a little looking around; since you'll mostly use it to open packaging, the Leatherman Style CS might be good for you. It's very compact (7.6cm closed length, 42g weight). The blade is quite small at only 3.4cm, but that should suffice for cutting through packing material. Unlike other multitools, the Style CS unfolds not into pliers, but into scissors, which are bigger and thus way more usable than what you'd find on a swiss army knife. While it opens with a nail nick, the nick is way more accessible than on a victorinox, and due to it using a different locking mechanism should open smoothly and easily instead of requiring enough force to chip your nails off. Also has a bottle opener, nail file/screwdriver and pincers on it.
where is that image from?
Did you make the dumplings yourself? They look great!
End Of Watch starring Jake Gyllenhaal. He calls it a Spyderco.
Thanks, but I already found the answer. It's a Smith&Wesson SW911b
nigaa what does this even mean
Thank you user, Im getting that LM next month!
I have one but i never use it for 2 reason
>to big
>its a present from my dead grandpa
I wish you a nice weekend!
Are you that "Bang knife with stone to turn into fixed blade" retard?
Do any of you think of your folders as defensive tools? I feel like a knife could work as such, but there’s a chance you could really get your shit kicked in
my Esee Avispa
better pic
no, it is a last resort if anything. Unless it is designed around that role.
See what I would carry for personal defense, several options
This knifes should work . This gun is still better
Glad you like it! A nice weekend to you too!
Best edc under $100?
Ready, go!
Anyone got any info on a company called Mission Knives? My buddy is thinking of becoming part of the company.
Pic related, it's one of the companies "prototype" folders.
I have very specific requirements for folders, and blade length around 2.5 is one of them. SOG Spec Elite Mini and Sypyderco Ouroboros are two in my collection that I like. Both are discontinued but still available. Also, not sure what you're willing to spend, but Olamic Busker is probably the best right now in the "minimalist" EDC folder category
considering they hollowed out the fucking tang also?
Yes...yes they did.
looks fucking gay so he's probably all set with hipster sales and will also fit in if he's a giant faggot
Jow Forumsnifers, question for you
I inherited a German WW2 bayonet. No one in the family has taken care of it and I need help-
1) removing rust
2) sharpening
3) restoring the leather
How do I accomplish these things/with what? ty for the help
>SOG Escape
Any good as an EDC either in a admin pouch or in the pocket of a mechanic while sharing space with a gerber multiplier 600?
Check out Matt Easton's vids on Scholagladiatoria youtube
Shivworks clinch pick a meme or decent fixed blade edc?
I carry one every day, but it isn't a utility knife...You realize the edge is reversed relative to the handle profile, right?
Yep definitely considering it as a defensive edc, not utility edc
Then it's ironically one of the only non-meme options. It's quality enough, carries well, and the use of it is built on sound combatives principles. Might want to get a darkstar sheath though
I used Scarab as a daily driver for six years and it's still snappy as ever. It's stupid fast and handy, drop point though not double edge.
Looks like some flea market shit tho no lie.
Not sure who you're refering to, but that's what actually happened in French colonies: these knives were everywhere, locals hammered the handle to lock the blade, and used them as weapons against colonial forces. Then the FFL seized all Douk Douk on the market and did the same. Maybe whoever mentioned it knew about it, its presence in French colonial conflicts is a widely known fact, many massacres are owed to it, it carries quite a bad reputation because of it.
You could almost call it a feature: it turns an innocent slipjoint pocket knife which you can carry without running into any trouble with authorities, into a more capable weapon, that's not something to overlook.
Thank you! Both of those knives are right up my alley. I'm particularly interested in the Ouroboros. How do you feel about the compression lock vs the axis? I like the look of the Elite Mini, how is the build quality?
Unfortunately I don't have $700 for a Busker!
