Best German capital ship of the war, and the most aesthetic.
Underrated choice.
Shame it never got to use it's torp tubes. Just imagine having to explain how a new cruiser was almost sunk by a sailing boat
Before Pearl Harbor
After Pearl Harbor
Always had a soft spot for the Alaskas despite them being far too expensive for what they ended up being and nearly useless in the war

Suck it George III
Damn son
>my hand is saluting on its own!
WW1 is taking place and your country is sucking balls and the morale is on the shitter, suddenly a middle aged poet takes the situation in his hands and single handle invents a segment of the special forces using touristic speed boats that he renames "MAS" memento auder semper.
They are usually piloted by suicidal fanatics and irredentists, they managed to sink the capital ship of austro Hungary and to create legends.
Best moment for being an Italian period
no just russians
If you get the chance you should go aboard and explore the ship, they let you go everywhere.
Barque Eagle.
If they weren't so loud I would want one.
Looks fun

The Mikasa on display in Yokosuka. Flagship of Admiral Tōgō Heihachirō. She is the last surviving example of a pre-dreadnought battleship.

Nice ship user, she has a very impressive record and a appropriately tragic end.

Too bad he suffered a reactor "accident" and never returned to service.
Yes. Also more force exerted at the hull. In the wrong wind or too harsh sea they had to be rolled up near instantly or the masts could be torn down by the next gust of wind. Not a nice moment to be climbing in the rig.
The rebuild standards are pretty damn aesthetic. Pig ugly in their original configurations though
I've been onboard multiple times. Never get tired of visiting.
>survives the fall of Russia twice and still serving.
I'm one of many who have visited this one. HMS Belfast is at permanent display in London. Interesting to see the tiny crew rooms and the dark gloomy machine rooms.
Less visited, but still kinda possible: one of Gneisenau's cannon towers were moved to Norway and rebuilt into a coastal battery, I've been there and the entire tower is complete and still fully intact - amd fireable, although it's been quite some years since it became a museum.
Not an option for visiting, but the little fjord she was hiding in for a period when not biting at the Murmansk convoys and got sunk in is about 20 miles from where I live. The main road passes right by it and I'm reminded of the big machine every time I drive past.
It seems my superiority has caused some controversy.
BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFPTTTT
I got the chance to get a sightseeing of Karlsruhe during a fleet visit to the local city. Ran into a bunch of German sailors the night before who were as determined as me to get plastered, and it was the perfect time for me to brush up on my school German. I also remember the galactic hangover and broken eye bloodvessel resulted from unknown quantities of tequila. I went on the sightseeing together with the bartender, which says something. Wonderful visit too; the officers on tourist duty were talkative and spoke perfect English where my German failed, and the lads from last night were all there. I've never learned so much about a ship so fast. Gute Reise, Leute.
