I always save these type of images to wave in the face of the rabid part of the scale modelling crowd that will always claim that every condition except factory new is "over weathered" and unrealistic. (Except if it's a Russian aircraft ofc, then it should have mud pilled up in the intakes and moss growing on it)

Not only that, out of 3 launched by the US only one actually fired, the two others never even got the engine going and just dropped like a rock.
Of course that is still preferable to the other alternative that could have happened with improperly stored and handled rockets, which would have been explosion on ignition.

While entirely possible considering the large warhead the story as told doesn't add up.
