Apparently they sell very few Friday tickets so the place isn't overcrowded, which is gonna be great seeing as i bought the 3 day ticket.

>go to UK to look at nazi tanks
>get stabbed by people the tanks were designed to remove from the earth

>going to the largest tank museum with over 200 vehicles in its collection
>only seeing the WW2 German armor
Bruh

Either no one here is going or no one gives two shits lol. Oh well.

>get stabbed by people the tanks were designed to remove from the earth

Poles?

Nigel needed someone to unclog his toilet so he imported millions of p*les, now they roam the streets stabbing people for pocket change to buy smokes with

What gives? Poles don’t seem that bad here in America.

I wish I could go at least one year. Or at least visit Bovington and see the museum even if I couldn't specifically do Tankfest. Cool that World of Tanks / Wargaming sponsor it and let their community members interact but I've heard that often the actual historians get ignored in comparison, which is unfortunate.

Seeing a Churchill running around would be really nice. The Tank Museum also has a Black Prince but it's not running, they tried one year and ended up having to tow it.

just memeing honestly

I play, but I don't really care too much that they're sponsoring the event, I just want to see the tanks and rub shoulders with the historians and YouTube bigwigs

Then Nigel decided that he didn't like Poles so he traded them with more Pakis
Let's delve in the Bong's mind

One entire internet to the person that posts a pic of the chieftain with David fletcher

I went last year. It was alright. They purposefully didn't show the Tiger - there is a specific Tiger day and they only showed it then.

The parade ground thing where they drive them around has a "bunker" in the middle. First the WW1 british tanks advanced on it with some soldiers with blank firing guns. It was then repeated for WW2 with that more-PC cross flag.

Amazingly, the Iraqi army must have used German tactical advisors as the very same thing was done but with Desert Storm tanks and an Iraqi flag on the bunker. Strange how history repeats itself.

I recommend nosing through the storage warehouse and the neat stuff squirreled away in there. And leave plenty of time to get there - one of the main routes in is a single lane each way country road and it can get snarled up pretty bad.

>they purposefully didn't show the tiger
God that's shitty I understand it is very costly to maintain and is the only Tiger I running but it's the star of their collection and they've drummed it up to be just that in previous advertising too.
Hmm the reenactments I've seen at tankfest haven't ever been good despite having one of the best arenas and the most resources compared to other shows to make it happen.
It seems like big history shows in the UK are getting more and more commercialised, last year I visited Military Oddessy which was really good one of the best things being that reenactors and vehicle owners were enthusiastic to talk to public, it's refreshing even just to see young reenactmentors.

But it was the great mufti that suggested Final Solution to brainlet Austrian corporal.

>And leave plenty of time to get there - one of the main routes in is a single lane each way country road and it can get snarled up pretty bad.
how do you normally get there, by cab or bus or what?
i've never been to britain but would like to go in the future

>Someone owns a running StuG
God damn am I envious, though admittedly I would be happy with about any tank or assault gun.

Is that an Australian tank?

Probably because the barrier to entry in the US is much higher than in the UK.

In the area for holidays, should be good, if not a little crowded. Have a centurion while we're here.

Wierdest at Saumur was the E.German 'frame' T72. (And this is a French tank museum, so weird gets used a bit)
They didn't just make a cutaway training model, they welded up a T72-shaped frame and put in all the internals so you can see it all linked.

And heres the pic

I went in 2012, met quickybaby & his missus - she seemed to be very composed for someone who was bored out of her mind

Reenactments were pretty boring other than when the aircraft had a go
