There isn't one really, that's chinkshit range. The only semi-reputable stuff under $500 if going to be Primary Arms, Burris, or cheaper Vortex offerings. You'd be way better off doubling that budget and getting an ACOG or midrange LPVO.

They are experimental at best and the kinks haven't been found out yet, and the normal AR platform is damn near perfected at this point.

I had a KAC broomhandle on my first ever build and honestly I don't really care. Maybe it's the J-Comp but this rifle just doesn't move at all when I fire it. Not backwards, not up, not at all.

Primary Arms. Doesn't hold a candle to higher tier stuff but their Raptor 1-6 is definitely usable, and durable enough that you don't have to worry about dropping it into the dirt.

Should I snag a police trade in ar15? I was looking at a mag-pul Colt.

Not the same user, but I've broken a PA 4-14x FFP scope. I dropped the rifle it was on and it messed up the elevation adjustment somehow, it doesn't track properly or hold zero anymore. It's possible my scope was a lemon since it broke so easily but I wont be buying another one, It's unacceptable for it to break from a single drop onto a relatively soft surface.

If the price is right and it's in good shape there's no reason not to.
