There's plenty in here. I'll make sure I don't filter out non-combat ones, just for you.

>war
>good guys
War is a state of nature where people die whether they deserved it or not, it's the pinnacle of "shit happens". There's no need to point fingers. Odds are your side did something just as shitty to somebody else's family whose fingers are pointing at you.
Julian Ross
Thanks, even just plain (lel) old aviation is good too

I honestly like the down time and calm before and after the storm stuff myself.

If you're in those conditions, you don't really give a fuck about the wood furniture, within a few months it can look like that. It's not the soldiers could really keep clean, so all the oils, dirt, etc would transfer to the wood. It's the metal parts that tell you its been used, but not to used. Its scratched and shit, but the blu is still there.
Juan Williams
Lads, I gotta hit the hay. I'm barely an eigth of the way through my folder. I'll be back.

Top Hat Man is a Jow Forums original. An user scanned in his grampa's war photos for us a few years ago. Most are of the Ebensee concentration camp, and are frankly horrifying.

Nigger, my autism had the same thought at one time about this sbit, I pointed this out to both of my grandfathers, who both served in ww2 and that's what I was told. Also do some google about weapon maintenance, you'll actually find the same shit I'm claiming.
Mason Stewart
If they had operated in the South Pacific or Africa before its plausible. Be real fucking shit luck and you would basically have to want your weapon to be in shitty shape, but plausible.
Parker Cruz
Also, these guns were issued months before hand, they took them into shit fuck training were it was normal for them to be abused. You ever had an /out/ gun that you treated like that? I had a 10/22 wood take down that was holy fucked because of humidity (which the soldiers dealt with, it ficks the woods) like I sa said, just treating it like shit, it's a tool, toss the bitch down, if it cant handle you being a little rough, don't bother with it.

Allegedly there is a photo album of combat photos my great grandfather took during his time in the wehrmacht, like him standing next to a U.S tank he destroyed. Alas, I have not found it yet and only have some normal photos he took.

>my great grandfather took during his time in the wehrmacht, like him standing next to a U.S tank he destroyed
That, taken in historical context, would be pretty freaking cool and I encourage you to find it. And the rest of them. Something like that deserves its own thread.

Tom Cruise's company being vets from other campaigns is a valid possibility too. You see one soldier collecting sand from the beach, and putting the jar in his backpack with other jars from different places.
Jeremiah Cox
>If you're in those conditions, you don't really give a fuck about the wood furniture
you do once you have a stock split in two on you
Julian Myers
god what a awful map. The best gun in that map is the mg42 and you just run down the stairs Rambo style.
Andrew Ramirez
that's a big fucking hole in that sherman
Christopher Thompson
Don't fight wars then. War never benefits the average person. Only robs them of their belongings, loved ones, and even their lives.
>good guys
cute.
William Sanchez
Went down with all crew.
>Born September 4, 1916, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, Walter "Waddy" Young was, from the beginning, bound for great things. Throughout his high school years, Waddy was succesful both academically and on the field, and in 1938 he was chosen as an All-American in '38 by various papers and, more notable, Gartland Rice. Soon after, Waddy was picked up by the Brooklyn Dodgers and entered the professional scene.
>Though, he didn't remain in the spotlight for long; in his second professional season, Waddy enlisted in the Army Air Force. He was promptly sent east, serving as anti-submarine patrol in New York, Newfoundland, and Great Britain, accumulating more than nine thousand combat hours.
>Still, Waddy wasn't ready to give up the fight. He decided to volunteer for the B-29 Program, and ended up as a captain stationed on the Mariana Islands.
>One of "Waddy's Wagon's" most famous escapades occurred on January 9, 1945; "Waddy's Wagon" and 72 other B-29s were ordered to bomb the Nakajima Aircraft Engine Factory near Tokyo. The mission went awry when the Japanese resisted, and the plane to "Waddy's Wagon's" right was rammed by a kamikaze fighter. Waddy continued undeterred, bombed the target, and turned back to assist the stricken plane. They crew of "Waddy's Wagon" threw blocks down to signal where the downed plane landed.
>"Waddy's Wagon" and its crew disappeared without a trace 10 miles east of Choshi Point, Japan, while it was protecting B-29 Crew A-46. A search plane was dispatched, but after combing the area, there was no hint as to what might have happened.

I've been thinking up this alternate history scenario where one of the Allied Powers more aggressively pushes experiments aircraft through accelerated development and as a result prototype aircraft such as the A-1 Skyraider and P-80 Shooting Star are already in limited combat service by late 1944.
How realistic would it have been to arm early Sikorsky helicopters such as the R-4, R-5, and R-6 with light weapons such as the Browning M1919 or a Bazooka?
I already know that there were multiple instances of L-4 Grasshoppers being equipped with Bazookas and being used to surprisingly good effect, could the same have been done with helicopters?
