BUILD YOUR OWN TECHNI/K/AL

>It's 2012, the Arab Spring is beginning to turn violent
>In the Democratic People's Republic of Wakadakastan, a moderate rebel group calling itself "Al-Qaeda in Islamic Wakadakastan" has taken control over many cities formerly held by the Wakadakastani government, implementing Sharia law and abducting and killing journalists and foreigners.
>You and a group of fellow operators have been hired by a private military contracting company (think Executive Outcomes or Blackwater) that is being paid by the US government to suppress the actions of "Al-Qaeda in Islamic Wakadakastan"

You specifically have been tasked with choosing weaponry to mount onto a Toyota Hilux truck to create the perfect technical vehicle for fighting the terrorists across the sandy desert dunes and sprawling concrete cities of Wakadakastan. Due to the massive arsenals full of heavy and light weapons held by the Wakadakastani government, you have a lot of options on the table, especially Soviet and East Bloc weaponry.

so... what kind of toys will you mount to your technical vehicle?

A gun probably

Like a big gun

A server full of Hillary Clinton's emails.

Drive that bitch into the middle of the target city, and run like hell.

I’m open to whatever the Clowns are currently supplying.

Another smaller truck.

>M1 Browning mounted in the back
>BGM 71 in the front
>one dude coming along on the truck has an RPG with plenty of thermobaric, fragmentation, and 93mm HEAT warheads
>each man has his own beat to shit underfolder AK outfitted with fancy new rails, accessories, and red dot scopes

gamer time.

Huehuehuehue.

In the rear end I'd probably want a KPV for repelling pursuit vehicles and aircraft, preferably loaded with either APFSDS or HE rounds depending on targets. This rear weapon could also be used to damage structures and fortifications or destroy other cover. On the roof facing the front end I'd want a GPMG like a PK(M). Weight is much less of an issue for weapons mounted to vehicles, so the extra range and penetration provided by using a fullsize rifle cartridge would be worth it. This weapon, like its rear-facing brother, would be mounted on a swivel to provide a wide field of fire, and would be the primary antipersonnel weapon on the vehicle. It should be readily able to move from this mount to other mounts on the sides of the truck bed, avoiding wasting space and cost on more individual guns whilst still being able to cover all angles. It is also ideal to have a handheld grenade launcher in the possession of one of the gunners. The windows should be refitted with ballistic glass, and the front and doors of the vehicle armored with steel. The doors should also be fitted with tamper-resistant locks. The tires should be replaced with spike-strip resistant versions and the suspension strengthened to withstand the extra weight and rough handling. The driver should be given a Skorpion or similar machine pistol, and his passenger equipped with a submachine gun or a carbine. The glove compartment should contain a full medical kit. Gunners and weapons in the truck bed should be strapped in to avoid falling out, preferably with quick-release buckles for quick getaways to ensure crew survival, as competent crewmen are more valuable than their vehicle. Sidearms for gunners and passenger should be service pistols such as Tokarevs, Glocks or 1911s, so long as they take a readily available round.

not built by a shitskin so it works

Crew survivability is paramount. Islamic terror groups conduct psychological warfare through executions, torture, and sheer, absolute brutality. Not giving them extra bodies to perform these acts with saps their greatest strength, which is the fear they strike into people's hearts. If crews consistently survive their encounters intact it shows that the enemy can be fought. These technical vehicles should be used for harassment, flanking maneuvers, escorting evacuees/VIPs/APCs/logistics vehicles, patrols/scouting, and engagement with enemy technichals.

However, using them to charge and break lines is inadvisable, as their armor is still light and they are susceptible to dedicated anti-armor weapons such as anti-tank rifles, rocket launchers, or mines. This role should be left to purpose-built IFVs and tanks.

>Attach steel armor plates to the cab, enough to cover both doors, the front, and the rear, with small vision slits to see through, an openable hatch in front of the driver so he can see better
>Mount a forward facing PKM in the passenger side
>Give driver and PKM gunner plate carriers
>Put lighter Kevlar armor panels around inside of truck bed, and on the front of the vehicle to make the engine harder to take out
>Mount a DSHK in the back high enough to shoot over the cab, throw a few of the most modern RPGs available in there that the gunner can use against heavier vehicles
>Have DSHK gunner covered in body armor, give him level IV plate carrier/flak jacket with neck, arm, and dick protection, Russian visor helmet, and thigh protection so he doesn't get instantly killed by every dude with an AK
>Give DSHK gunner a child soldier assistant with a PSS-43

Use the technical money for an MRAP. Technicals are for suicidal retards with a budget under $20k.

>glorious 12.7mm DShK mounted at the center of the pickup bed so it can actually spin 360 degrees
>pkm mounted in front of the passenger seat though I'm tempted to not do this just so the front window can be there to protect us all from dust and let the passenger either shoot out his side window instead if he wants to do something
>some armor under the body panels for survivability
>cd full of slavic meme songs

>a Toyota Hilux truck to create the perfect technical vehicle
yikes

>Not another larger truck..
You had one job user.

A single 1911 in .45 ACP

Armor up the cab and back a bit
Give the driver a Polish KLV drivers vest
Give a level iv plate carrier, one of those ruski visor helmets and shit to the gunner
Give the gunner a mounted PKM
have fun

I'd rather up armor a Ram, tear out and replace the stock suspension and stick a remote turret on top with a 20mm, grenade launcher and and an H2 like Mexico does. The best technicals are full sized and have I6s making 1000 torques.

>Ram Heavy-Duty (HD) models are produced at Saltillo Truck Assembly in Saltillo, Mexico.. [6]

The assistant better also have a cooler full of freezer pops to maintain optimal gunner temperatures, otherwise he'd be dead of heatstroke halfway through a patrol.

This is fucking amazing.

The fast and the furious 28: Somali Coast

>hilux
No. I'll take a Gen 2 Ram 2500 with the 12v Cummins and a M45 Quadmount in the back.

A 20-40 mm auto-cannon, the best multi-purpose weapon.

>high rate of fire
>HE and AP rounds
>turreted
>high ammo capacity
>can shred low flying helos, drones, and lightly armored APCs.

Best option for maximum flexibility while maintaining high ammo capacity and light weight.

Put poles in the corners of the truck bed to hold up a tarp to give him shade, have him wear nothing under the armor but a t-shirt and shorts, occasionally pour water on him, he'll be fine.

>muh bazzilion torque engine
> will shit the bed if you pump crap fuel into it
>now you're stuck with an overweight truck you have no chance of getting parts for

God fuck the yellow and orange ones, give me blue or give me death.

"jack of all trades" build:
KORD machine gun
IR tracers (yes, those exist)
Huuuuge holosight for it, NVG compatible
Electrical plugs for powering Kornet ATGMs (saves the really expensive and hard to get batteries for the)
Obviously a rack for said missiles
Run-flat tires
Intercomm for all "crew" members, because fuck screaming at each all day.
Comms gear. The best the budget allows.
A surveilance drone and control station for it in the cab

Heavy build:
WOMBAT 120mm recoilless rifle as its primary weapon
Balistic computer with range finder
Proximity fused ammo?

>Cummins will crap out if you put bad fuel in it

You realize a lot of military trucks use Cummins plants specifically because they don't have that problem?

Also Cummins engines are all over the middle east. Hell this weird Canadian MRAP made in the UAE has the same engine.

>Rip off unnecessary bodywork cut off the roof and strip as much unneeded parts as you possibly can
>Take cues from armored car in history, get some half inch thick steel or hardened steel to weld up a construction like a Sdf. 222
>Get a HMG in the turret or Autocannon LMG combo with either a basket for the gunner/loader or enough room on the floor to move around in
That or
>Strip most shit of the back
>Get some grad or helicopter rocketpods
>Get some nerd to make estimation and make shift sight and elevation+directional control
>Have a GLA rocket buddy to drive up, unleash a barrage and fuck off again.
Maximum shock assault

Man first world technicals are so soulless and lacking in character nor masculine energy.

Like you know that thing was built for a gimmick and will never be actually used in a fight.

Opel Calibra

I'll take 1 Motherfucker and just file that DD stamp form right now, thank you
