They have different roles.
The T-72 line of Male Thief Bugs are for when quantity is a quality of its own. Very cheap.
The T-80 line has been revived for Arctic duty.
The T-90 is mostly for command and control units, probably will be replaced by T-14 and will be relegated to export duties.
The T-14 is currently very expensive for Russia, ($3.7M compared to $2.5M for T-90MS and $6M for Abrams) but it will be given to units/officers that should be more heavily defended than others, like the grandson of an oligarch who needs military medals so he can be promoted to general one day.
