This is a bit of a digression I believe. it was a riot in northwest SA that resulted in about 50 foreign businesses being burned. Something about immigration I think. Very LA Rodney King Korea Town.

Because foreign investment means chinese or americans opening a mine, factory or farm. Slaving the local population for no pay. Buy local farmers out of land so they can't feed themselves and then using armed security to keep tribes away from their land. And then they probably don't pay any taxes but that is the norm.

Kyrgyzstan is a lovely conflict. The riots in Bishkek were maximum clank and Hong Kong is beautiful, I enjoy the umbrellas, but i'll do whatever people want. If there is no audience for riot photography I won't post. I'm not going to bother other people with my interests if it doesn't interest them. Captioning seemed popular but I get lazy and don't want to contextualize every photo all the time.

That's the thing I like. The imagery. Capturing the brick versus the stick. The fire versus the automatic fire. There is some charm to that anger I just can't quite explain. Doesn't matter who wins, doesn't matter who loses. I have my own political opinions about this stuff but it doesn't matter in this situation. It's just armed struggle and confused anger on both sides, and I think there is something poignant about that worth noting.
