You know I bet you they take them off to sleep at night. I lived in Florida my whole life until about a month ago. Moved to Colorado. ever since I was 13, I've worn nothing except leather steel toed boots. I'll tell you what, I would unlace them sometimes. Some. Times. Like when I'm stuck in a car for hours and it's cloustraphobic. Not every single second I could possibly get away with. And I'm just some dumbass faggot. These are supposed to be SEALs, who are supposed to be ready to kill at a moment's notice, not trip over their damn feet because they wanna walk around the base with their shoes unlaced because "it's hot out here in the desert!"

So the SEALs who are in some base in the middle of the desert who are subject to terrorist attack at pretty much any moment get a free pass to be lazy. SOF guys look for every possible way to stand out from the rest of the grunts in the chow hall. I know the whole Seals and biographies thing has been a mainstream meme for decades, but lets be realistic here; that pic was only ever supposed to be seen by other seals and maybe by the friends and families of the guys in it. No non-autist goes through life fixating on "what if this pic ends up being my mugshot/wikipedia pic?".
