The projectile misses and the gun crew spends 30 minutes to an hour replacing the now-ruined rails before they can fire again.

What's it like back in the 2000s?

Probably blows up there ears and penetrates the rest of mtb easily exiting on other side because projectal has no peylod or explosives you count on supersonic wave and kinetic energy to do job

they get sucked out of the pen hole by the overpressure

Nothing because a tank is real and that thing will never see combat.

They die.

More or less this. There's an old video floating around military schools of a few goats sealed inside of a combat vehicle that gets struck with a 90mm APFSDS projectile. The crew compartment essentially gets coated in gore with a stream of viscera outside in the general direction of the exit hole.

Sauce

Like I said, it's floating around military schools. I failed to mention that the copy I watched was on VHS, so I apologize.

The projectile might fragment inside the tank so it will be just like a HE Grenade going off inside.
If the prpojectile itaelf doesn't fragment, it doesn't matter because the tanks wall itself will do tht too, shooting debris all around it's inside.
Also guaranteed missions kill if it hits the ammo, gun, engine or tracks.

they get fried even faster than when they get his with this.

I think you're lying but I have a military friend who said a similar thing would happen, so I don't know what to think

Did he died?

There's a decent chance the crew compartment wasn't penetrated at all in that vid and the blow out panels are working as intended.

yeah. but not instantaneously which means they fried for a while.
>There's a decent chance the crew compartment wasn't penetrated
stfu retard

Iraqis weld the blast doors open so they're crispy critters

Calm down child.

You are right. This was as mission kill only and the crew survived.

it hits: everybody dies
it misses: the dirt dies.

Y'all need to learn about blowout panels.

you need to learn basic laws of physics. and learn about fucking incident itself. M1 was modified after this incident.
God damn jingoists.

Former 19K here
This is an accurate assessment
Fleshy things get sucked out and turned to spaghetti

>Hurr durr jingoist
It did exactly what it's supposed to do, as seen here: Stop being such a fucking child, there's no need to be so upset.

You ever see it happen or is that just what you were told by guys who did?

>the gun crew spends 30 minutes to an hour replacing the now-ruined rails
No, my friend, it is the rails that replace the crew:

That’s really fucking clever. Kinda surprised they’d put it in a public patent.

>WE FINALLY DID IT TWO FUCKING SHOTS IN A ROW

>a thing that never happen in any tank engagement ever in history will definitely happen
no

surely there is a simple engineering fix for this, like a shitload of tiny rupture pannels to simply make the tank unable to hold pressure once internal pressure gets over normal?

why has a railgun smoke and sounds like a gunpowder cannon ???? fake ?

some of it is evaporating barrel and projectile and the sabot (called an armature)
the flash is shock heating from the sheer speed of the projectile, it's going fast enough to set the air on fire, like a meteor

here's what that sort of speed looks like in slow motion

They laugh as they move to the side of it

why would they do that?

I don't know why you have to hate it so much, but don't lie to yourself

sister ray when?

They transcend into the next plane of existence in picoseconds.

Makes them grumpy

I could go on and on about the exact carnage applied to the flesh of the hapless crew but the result is basically the same.

They ded. Could be the spalling, could be the shrapnel, could be the overpressure, could even be just getting their heads smashed against the inside of the tank at Mach1. They're dead, jim.

they're arabs, do you really need to ask?

Life insurance payouts?

There’s also talk of libeling the berrel with plasma before each shot to act as a lubricant.

*lining

>we're having barrel erosion issues, what do
>I know, let's convert the top layer of the barrel into plasma!

>chinkposters not knowing what their leaked reports actually mean

Oh I'm laffin

it would be extremely painful

Our (U.S.) railguns are steerable now.
We ain't missing.

>he doesn't know all railgun rounds are guided

GPS/INS + datalink for AA and shore bombardment

plus MMW for anti-ship/anti-vehicle.

>lubricating
>convert the top layer
Why are you straw manning so hard?
I mean you have to be aware that you completely changed the words right? You made it mean something totally different.

Why?

>all are guided
Uh not really dude, for starters the one I made in my garage isn't.

It's what people are forced to do when they REALLY want to argue but have no rebuttal or any idea what they're talking about.

You simply change what the other guy said and then argue against that.

Having lots of friction in my dry handgun.

I better convert the top layer of the slide rails into gun lube.

well excuse me.

"all USN railgun projos designed for operational use are guided."

happy now?

It’s gonna look like pic related exploded inside.

Everybody get their hair lifted

they cease to exist

Of courshe

any plasma between those rails is going to act as a connection between the rails, because plasma is conductive
you can use this connection to push the projectile down the rails, but it's going to be incredibly destructive to them.
