What's that on the ground, in the middle?

Attached: HongKong3.jpg (2048x1365, 719K)

Portable PA system. Speakers to tell the populace to stay in line.

Sorry this was for you

This was the HK protesters busting into the legistlative council building. They wrecked the place

Also it seems that in mainland China people don't even know what's happening in HK. Apparently HK and Macau are on the otherside of the great firewall of china.

You have to hand it to the asians, they know how to have a good old fashioned chimpout when they are fed up with things

Attached: HongKong15.jpg (1600x1067, 350K)

it doesn't look too chimped out though, they kinda seem to behave.

Although I would disagree with the phrasing I'd say you are more or less right. Thailand, India, Japan, Burma, China. They have a knack for civil unrest.

Attached: HongKong16.jpg (1600x1067, 341K)

There is a gradient to behaving. HK has to walk the line between the one country:two systems rule and Tienanmen. China generally doesn't flinch from excessive force but HK has a chance to skirt a crackdown and they are taking advantage of it.

Attached: HongKong17.jpg (1600x1067, 350K)

Hong Kong rioted like a dozen times between 1900 and 1997. I'm glad the Chinks are finding out how tricky the place is to manage.

All rights derive from freedom of speech. It's a dangerous thing. The communist manifesto was pamphlet that took less than an hour to read and it set the world on fire and killed millions. When people can talk freely there is a significant chance of things going sideways.

Are you Chinese? Or are these just the most recent riots? Either way thanks for posting, I enjoy these threads

Attached: HongKong27.jpg (1600x1066, 204K)

Not Chinese, just like the conflict. Hong Kong is what I am posting because it's recent and well photographed. I like older conflicts too. I know a couple of folks who are pretty active about the situation so it feels relevant. Also thanks for the props.

Quick poll:

Who here has actually been in a riot?

What would be the best way to stay safe during a riot? Say you are with your girlfriend downtown amd get caught in the middle of it? What do you do?

I like the umbrellas. Idk if its to keep from being identified by but it looks very effective at it.

>tfw a half naked sweaty man with swimming googles is flipping you the bird

I've been in two I suppose but I wasn't exactly a participant in either, right time right place I guess. One was a protest that got dispersed when something got violent a great distance from us. Since we really didn't know what was happening we just kinda bounced. Most pictures of riots are taken from the very front lines of it where people are in direct contact with police or of the property destruction that sometimes comes with it.

Looks like a speaker, probably hooked up to a microphone in the back for cease and desist et cetera

Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun. This is what happens when you let commies take your weapons away. Every. Single. Time.

The other was a sports riot after my cities team won, there was a spate of riotry in multiple parts of the city. At the time I was coming back home from work and wandered through a cloud of smoke and decided to walk a block down and see what was happening. Ended up standing in the street between a police shield wall and a bunch of dudes trying to set a pile of trash on fire and throwing shit at the cops. I left because a bunch of dirt-bike cops showed up and in my city those guys do not fuck around and I didn't want to get caught up in it.

Attached: HongKong35.jpg (1600x1066, 237K)

Where's is this? Kai Tack airport?

Shelter in place or leave. Lots of people just enter businesses and ride it out. That's what happened alot in the Battle for Seattle. Leaving usually works unless the cops are fucking idiots. Police actually have well thought out riot tactics since they are usually heavily outnumbered. Most rioters are trying to get somewhere specific or make a scene in the place they are, police almost always leave an exit route for people to flee. Cornering a massive group of people bent on violence is pretty stupid if you are outnumbered 10 to 1. Usually people can just walk away from the whole affair by going in the opposite direction of the cops.

The umbrella is a symbol of resistance for them now. It's for preventing identification but it also helps in alot of other situations. Sometimes these protests have happened in the rain. Also helps against pepper spray. I think the imagery is beautiful.

Attached: HongKong37.jpg (1600x1067, 202K)

There is mild irony in the fact that is a Mao Zedong quote.

Attached: HongKong38.jpg (1600x1067, 261K)

The latest skirmish was pretty epic. The cops funneled the protesters into a shopping mall and blocked all exits with patrons still inside and proceeded to duke it out inside the multi level mall. A cop got his finger bit off for trying to finger stab the eyes but ended in the mouth.

The original caption didn't mention HK's airport. It sure looks like an airport but I couldnt tell you that is what it is for certain.

Attached: HongKong39.jpg (1600x1067, 335K)

That's metal as fuck. The umbrella movement originally petered out and died but has come back with a vengeance and the anger seems to not be going away. They got away with sticking it to the man and they are hungry for more.

Attached: HongKong40.jpg (1600x1067, 247K)

Kinda makes me wonder what China will do to squeeze them next without going full Tienanmen. They could just blockade the city. It can't survive on it's own. Maybe internal sanctioning? They are tried to handle Hong Kong with kid gloves but the CCP will have a breaking point.

Attached: HongKong41.jpg (1600x1067, 331K)

Really bad planning as it was suppose to be a morale booster for the cops to do a mass arrest but ended up being a dungeon. They even had female riot cops in the mix and they were bullied hard and almost got carried away sorta like goblins in Goblin Slayer.

Rumor has it that this HK ordeal is a trap set up by the previous CCP leadership under Jiang whatshisface to fuck Xi's shit up. But ignoring the small protesters is the best course of action as any PLA deployment gives Uncle Sam and the Bongs an excuse to act. Not that they would, but at least sanctions or w.e.

It's interesting, from the Hong Kongers I have met they really basically agree that they are Chinese and apart of China, they just do not want to surrender any of the freedoms that they have been living with.

It also comes from the right to use the gun. If you shoot a government agent in america you automatically get a significantly harsher sentence and are 90% likely to go to prison for the rest of your life, if the other feds let you live that is. Thanks to the co-operation of police+courts and the almost country-within-a-country shadowy powers of the ABC agencies, you having a gun does absolutely nothing to protect your position or society.

It does however let you shoot rogue nigs and other robbers/mentalcases who threaten your home. But politically....beyond useless unless you go postal or theres a boogaloo.

That guy looks anorexic.

Okay. I'm moving on from HK to Indonesian election riots in Jakarta.

Attached: Jakarta1.jpg (1360x907, 249K)

This was totally govt targeted. A chimpout is looting the big and small businesses setting fire to civilian cars in your own neighborhood then crying about how poor and shitty things are compared to all white places

Do the Hong Kong rioters have an organization page? I would like to donate to help them buy supplies.

Attached: Jakarta4.jpg (1356x668, 105K)

fuckin' what. There probably is some organization fundraising but you probably aren't going to find an easy way to help. People over there have their faces covered for a reason. Big brother is taking notes.

I'm sure they aren't all technologically illiterate.
They have got to have some sort of organization online, how else would they coordinate protests?
Bitcoin is not untraceable but there are ways to make it less traceable, such as just making a new wallet upon each transaction, that way it's hard to figure out who's who. It's likely they would use such a platform to manage their funding.
But at any rate there are ways of conducting online activity which makes it less easy to spot. Just wondering if anyone knew of their page.

I know there used to be a hacker collective called the Hong Kong Blondes in the late 2000's that spent a lot of time trying to bring down the great firewall of China and bring unfettered material to the mainland but I don't know if they are still around.

Apparently lately the dissidents have been using iphone airdrop to dump files packaged as free money that contain images and information about the protests in mainland China.

Attached: Jakarta12.jpg (1200x800, 211K)

>iPhone airdrop
if it works, it works
I was expecting something more sophisticated honestly, but if you want to round up the masses, then you need to appeal to them. iPhones tend to do that lol.
