How usefull would shotguns really be in a conflict between 2 superpowers?

as useful as any other small arm: not very

Shotguns are highly effective against people but it wouldn’t be nearly as useful as a standard assault rifle for laying down suppressing fire

Railgun shotguns.

God this summer will never end

With the amount of protective vests distributed to frontline troops, I don't think it's really that useful. It is more useful as a crowd control weapon.

Bold of you to assume a conflict between two super powers will be fought with small arms.

Ask Germany in WWI and WWII

The average soldier wasn't equipped with body armor back then.

That's what they want you to think.

how would it fair agains the bullet proof stuff people wear?

What is pic related?

Not well excluding super boutique stuff not used by the military. Breaching, general harassment, and probably anti drone measures.

Wtf is wrong with his Megamind lookin head?

Breaching tends to be the main purpose, they're not impactful in open battlefields.

A more staged photo has never been made.

that slav doesn't need no fucking body armor, he can deflect bullets with his mind powers from his fetal alcohol syndrome

Too big brain for his standard soviet scull.
How come?

Oh wow one photo and no data of any kind, man I guess all troops wore that then

It's not the metal that stop the bullets.

>tfw Frag-12 is not available to the civilian market

Shotguns in modern wars, even against third worlders, are mostly used as tools not as weapons. Breach doors, shoot dogs around perimeters, shoot down drones, keep airfields free of birds, and If we ever perfect m12 gauge grenades, smokes, and tear gas they'll be used for that.

Only specialized units had these.

>a conflict between 2 superpowers
militaries wouldn't even have time to mobilize before the nukes kill everyone

Underneath his chin would be absolutely riddled with marks from spalling.

Those are certainly pistol caliber rounds and no one is shooting a group with a pistol that tight in combat situations before he or someone else in his squad managed to kill the pistol shooter, especially not back then

Fucking kek

battlefield 4

Solid lead doesn't have spalling like fmj does. Thomas Baker managed to kill 8 dudes with 8 rounds from a 1911. Just because you suck doesn't mean everyone else does.

the last good battlefield
what franchise hasn't been destroyed by now?

Did Germans stage a photo to show that their enemy's armor works?

That's clearly not a bullet impact. Have you never shot steel in your life?
