Mishaco was really impressed with the KR9. Kalashnikov USA copied the vityaz so closely they even replicated the dust cover cracking problems.

I'll be straight up and honest: I don't know what that means. All I can tell is that the one I'm looking at has the standard polymer stock and pistol grip setup and accepts 30 round magazines.

They altered it to have goofy features. Such as different magwell, different trigger position, different barrel configuration, etc. so it doesn't work like an AK.
The sporterized saigas need converting work done.

In this day and age, I'd recommend the vepr while they're still instock.
If you were alive back then, the sporterized saigas were 400$ guns with 400$ build quality. Better than wasrs, but not by much.

This is incorrect. Paradoxically, the VEPR receivers lead them to fail *before* a traditional AK.

I actually had one of their Hungarian kit builds with the fenocited barrel and finish years ago when they were the new item. I got it from the FFL, took it home, out it up for a free days and took it out of my closet to fiddle with it. Rust everywhere in the gas tube, bore and chamber, muzzle threads and muzzle device. The lever on the gas tube, the plunger on the front sight block, and the slant breaker were so stiff I had to take a flat head, hammer and wrench to get them loose/off. The mag well was very tight, and iirc, the sight was canted, but only very slightly. Was really bummed about it, didn't even shoot it and sold it to an older guy on arms list a few weeks later. Wish I had kept it for a beater.

hey /AKG/ I'm pretty new to the AK scene so forgive me if this is a dumb question.
I went all out and decided to get an slr107cr as my first AK variant rifle and I've decided to make a few modifications as I'm not a fan of the polymer. So far I've replaced the handgaurd and the pistol grip. Next I'm going to change the stock to a triangle side folder. So my question is: Is it gonna be hard to do it? Or will I be able to do it with ease
