This. The M4 is outclassed by a few shotguns these days. If you buy, you buy for nostalgia. In keeping with the thread, I really want a DDM4V7 SLW in Deepwoods. Jesus they are sexual.

Within their own line, the M2 is arguably more pleasant to shoot and just as reliable while also being lighter and cleaner. Outside their line, the 1301 is all i said for the M2 but also cheaper. AK style shotguns, especially the vepr can be tuned to be as reliable or more so than the M4 and have the ability to carry more rounds on tap while also being cheaper.

most of the other italian auto's, and the versamax outclass the M4 easily.

Parent company Beretta took the gas system from the M4 and shoved it in th 1301, improved the feed geometry, then dropped the price. I wish I'd have gotten one instead of the M4.

I made that mistake about 5 years back my friend. I sold my M4 and rolled the dough into a Vepr for the lulz (which turned out to be a stellar buy) and almost popped on an M2 but got hung up on the 1301 so I bought neither. Now that the 1301 comp pro is on the horizon, I'm set on that. I've sold a total of 4 guns in my lifetime and I regret every one except the M4. It was a money pit and not nearly as fun as I imagined. I bought it for the wrong reasons and paid the piper.

Most probably unreliable compared to other guns today, be survival or sporting, but they're cool guns to me. Especially the Winchester 95

If you want a tube-loading gun, get a pre-64 winchester 94 if it's in 30-30 or some big game cartridge. If you want scope mounting easy (I'd advise against scopes on most lever guns) get a marlin 1895 or 336w

I remember my Franchi 48AL that I sold that had a fixed skeet choke. I regret selling that thing man blemishes and all it was just like an A5 but even lighter. I believe the Franchi Black Magic is the same thing, too.

But they're not, direct copies of it are still being made today.

I kinda want a Steyr GB just because I have an autist streak of fascination with firearms engineering and I think it's the best gas delay of the CCP and P7. Also a Walther P5 because it looks absolutely bitching.
