I couldn't agree more, the barrel looks horrendous. I feel like FN could have had more sales if they kept the short barrel, but welded a fake muzzle suppressor on the end to reach the minimum barrel length requirement

Yeh they look a bit rougher in regards to finish but functionally are in no way inferior to my MKEs.

im in the same boat. Totality was just shut down and i think it put people into a buying frenzy. not to mention half of the inventory on reputable sites were already sold out.
Super precision concepts sells "cut your own" tube material, but its very expensive at $25 per 4" (vs totality where it was a few dollars and already cut to various lengths).
MM has stainless caps in stock, if you dont mind that.
i wanted a very plain cap so i went with solventtrapdirect. its ok in the sense that it fits and is plain like i wanted but for $60 the knurling on the sides should have been decent, and they were kind of smushed. not a big deal, its not sharp but for that price it should have been better.
sdta also sells an endcap but its the same cap they use for their direct thread mounts. this means its thick as fuck.
i need some spacer material and cups.

How do you like the aimpoints on the Mp5? I just finished my parts kit and have an A3 stock. I feel like having the aimpoint on a traditional rail would have the dot right on the top of the front sight hood which would be distracting. I've experimented with putting my MRO that shits on a lower 1/3 mount on the rail and that feels like it sits too high on the gun (my chin barely touches the A3 Stock).

I've been thinking about an Eotech XPS for as low-profile as I can get with a holographic sight that will be more forgiving on cheekweld, or getting a low profile mount for a T1 and running it with absolute cowitness. The thing about absolute cowitness is that I've always found it to be too cluttered on an AR. I'm also considering copping the front sight hood to make it more like a Hk416 front sight.

How do you guys like your optics setups?

I love my setup. High enough that it almost totally clears the frontsight hood, but low enough that I don't have a chinweld.

Well mine is just a Vortex I snagged for $75, but it's ok. Doesn't clear front sight and can't co, but i like it. Still need to go run it for a bit.

Thanks, it shoots great. The SBR Form 1 took me 27 days and the can Form 1 was 28 days. No, I haven't bought parts yet. I'm planning on ordering from SPC but Totality going offline has me a little worried I won't be able to get parts.

thats up to you. personally, i disliked the cluttered (to me anyway) sight picture. that front sight hood is thick. i found it too distracting.
i just have to stick to irons for now

Sdta is 20pti I think. Diversified machine sells them too I think, though most of their end caps are their proprietary 24tpi.
For spacers, check out totality industries. They make a ton of stuff in many sizes.
You must not of looked honestly, the D cell is the most common tube size. That, or you’re a retard.

I don’t think anybody makes a wood stock. Definitely not a wood brace. I’ve seen some airsoft wood stocks before and it really wouldn’t be super difficult to do if you’re into woodworking, but no. There are gay AR adapters, and the original folding stock. That’s it.

Keep a look out on auction sites and forums and hope for the best.

in the us? find a transferable sear or gun and buy it. do a form 4 and get it in probably about a year.
the guns are about $30, sears are about $40+k bc they can be used in different guns.

How did you do that, and how much did it cost? I imagine all those different colors to be an absolute pain to do cerakote together.

pretty simple, there are stencils and vinyl wraps that you can do. You can buy an average spray gun and buy the cerakote for cheap too. then you can buy stencils on ebay for super cheap too. fairly simple and cheap to do. there are many tutorials out there and many vids of people who do it for their first time as well. have fun

I had a gunsmith do it for about 600 bucks for 4 colors and to disassemble and reassemble it. He also fixed some parts that were getting wobbly such as the castle nut. Process took 4 weeks.

Yeah, it was a long while and I believe it was because of how many layers and colors there were. If I had just gone with a single color, the wait and expense wouldn't have been that high. I just always wanted to have my gun camo'd and was going to make it happen. Someone said people might think I'm a cawadoody guy. Can't really argue there because I really liked Blue Tiger in MW2 where I first saw the vector. I saved up enough to make the dream happen.
