How reliable is the luty? Is it worth building? Can it be built to accept glock magazines? Any other improvised arms to look into?
Luties and other improvised arms
>How reliable is the luty?
How good are you at metalworking and gunsmithing?
>Is it worth building?
How much is your time worth? Because tools, materials etc wont cost more than $200
>Can it be built to accept glock magazines?
See answer no 1
>Any other improvised arms to look into?
Why are you set on improvised guns? Buy a sten tube or 80% kits and let the pros handle making the pressure bearing parts that will maim/kill you when they fail (barrel, chamber, slide, bolt, etc)
>Any other improvised arms to look into?
OP is as always a faggot
Glock mags in a luty style weapon would be aesthetically displeasing. Perhaps $9 sa26 magazines would be a better choice.
glock mags are more abundant and are more utilitarian
I would think it's easy. The only problem is getting a 9mm AR barrel and bolt head. I would also suggest using wood for a lower receiver (refer to the MP41, easier material to work with), and a drop-in AR trigger group (for obvious legal reasons).
>Is it worth building?
No.
shut the fuck up ATF
if you know what you are doing, yes to all, and even better if you can do a Sten gun
Also, the Luty gun idea has the same modularity potential as an AR, but with blowback tailored cartridges. Think about that.
Full-powered cartridges require either a screw-in breech (like an RN-50) or a bolt action design.
>tall glock mags already wobble in subcompact frames
>but lets make the magwell even shorter like a fucking nak9
Oh and
>double stack single feed
>tfw no Suomi Mk.Benis :DDD
Just gonna dump some homemade an 3d printed shit cause fuck mods and jannies, fags and trannies, and especially the government
Just found this idea from plebbit

Here are blueprints to build different varieties of rolling block rifles/shotguns.

BOB HOPE GO HOME!
Luty designed his SMGs as a fuck you to the British government. He wanted to prove that anyone with some basic tools and a bunch of generic hardware store materials could produce a fully automatic weapon if they chose to do so, and there was nothing the government could do about it.
The guns are functional and they are certainly better than nothing, but there are a lot of other designs that are far more practical and reliable.
If someone wanted to make a practical gun it would make a lot more sense to produce a crude revolver or a shotgun simply because they aren't going to be prone to jamming like a single stack SMG.
If you're an American there is literally no reason to build a Luty unless you just want to do it as a project or something. If an American wanted an FA SMG they could easily just purchase a parts kit and fabricate the remaining parts that they need.
If you insist
That would be interesting if you can make another model into a chain gun.
>le le le atf!!!
The Luty's main objective was simply to work. The actual design is kinda shit, that is a long-established fact. It's also 20-odd years after the fact, and we now have access to a huge range of gunsmithing resources from which a much better gun can be made.
But garage gun threads have been shit for several years, so I don't know what more I expected.
>Any other improvised arms to look into?
why make a shitty SMG when you could make a fuckin' recoilless grenade launcher like the IRA used to blow up armored cars? hell, IED's are way more threatening in any kind of scenario than some shitty garage SMG.
What kind of designs were you wanting?

SHINY AMD CHROME
>Can it be built to accept glock magazines?
if you have to ask this then you can't do it
>Any other improvised arms to look into?
slamfire shotgun
gopnik model for export
explosives aren't something to fuck around with, you can easily fuck up and die making IEDs
The slamfire pipe shotgun should not be as discredited as it is. For +/- $30 anyone can have a rock solid, simple boomstick. With a little effort you can add a comfy stock and get good at barrel flip reloads for a decent rate of fire. Will throw shot and slugs at an asshole just fine. Better than nothing and the one thing that can be scrapped together anywhere by almost anyone but is some kind of joke.
I don't want any particular design, I'm just trying to learn some basic mechanical engineering at the moment, to better understand various firearms designs.
I wish fully worked example engineering equations existed for some guns though, eg. for the H&K roller delay systems.
Whats the legality of making an improvised firearm? You need to register it? I know you cant sell it, but does anything go? It feels like a grey area which no one talks about but I never know anything about it.
They do though. You just need to spend the research time.
>Whats the legality of making an improvised firearm?
only a white person would ask this question
and a nigger would do the illegal thing. seriously its obviously fine when people make templates and youtube vids but are there like limits? I prob cant just make an SBR
Short version.
Register, serialize, and pay the tax for any Title II items. Except machine guns, SOL there.
Register and serialize any Title I items if the state requires, no federal requirement.
Sell if you are bored with it or need the money but do not make for the purposes of sale.
This is correct. You must conform to any existing firearms laws, both federal, state and local. You cannot produce a firearm for the purpose of selling it because it would make you an unregistered manufacture, but it can be sold otherwise.
>Making a batch of revolving shotguns to sell on the street = Prison
>Making yourself a revolving shotgun and selling it a reasonable amount of time later = OK
>But garage gun threads have been shit for several years, so I don't know what more I expected.
Because no one is making anything anymore. They're just asking for design plans and sharing pics. There haven't been any new design plans because of this (AK pistol user was the last) and if all you're looking for is pictures go here.
>fuck mods
are you not allowed to post your own home made 3d models?
user who cant into gun engineering, but meh at blender so i try. Seeing these gun design posts/blueprints made me want to make one of my own, even if ill never make it other than in blender and I don't have the best gun ideas in mind.
I'm having a hard time with trigger mechanisms with the stupid idea I had for a gun design. My biggest problem is how the trigger should work. Since i wanted it open bolt the original idea is when you pull the trigger it lets the bolt loose, picking up cartridge, firing, blowing back, and ejecting cartridge. I've had problems as in how to hold the bolt back if you're still holding onto the trigger, how to keep it not loose when say cocking it back for first round. I was thinking a spring to hold the trigger so it needs force to pull, but it leads me to how to stop the bolt when still holding trigger, as I'm retard with no gun knowledge. What should I do for this problem. Most likely this idea is retarded but corrections help make it better.
Color coded for easy on eye diagram. Orange was bolt/firing pin idea. Probably stupid idea.
Didn't you read the diagram? It launches cookies!
>engineering
>blender
that's a mega yikes my dude, why not learn a CAD program? they're not that hard and far FAR better suited to it.
never thought about that. I tried FreeCAD which felt super janky, and I've use blender for a while so id assume i could make a basic bitch idea and if i wanted to go further id use a CAD.
you're going to find it go far smoother using a CAD program. I use solidworks personally and if you're a uni student you can get it for free and if not you can get fusion 360 which is almost as good.
noice, post your stuff if you've made anything. this trigger thing is making my 300iq shrink
The ranger with the big iron on his hip
I've not made anything that Jow Forums related in CAD, though i do a shitload of it for my uni course, I've designed a nerf gun tho
They really don't.
>Can it be built to accept glock magazines?
If you're doing it as a project, this is gay as fuck. The whole point is to build something that doesn't use normal parts.
the original luty used sten mags faggot
Make them yourself you homo
making a reliable feeding smg mag is much harder than making an smg
>9.6 gigabyte zip file
Use cracked CAD or Inventor
If you are not pirate use Google SketchUp it's mod friendly and free
sketchup is better than nothing but sitll not great
So something similar to conventional gun designs, but simplified to where any idiot can understand and build it to somewhat professional quality?
That would make sense
How many inches of rifling do you need to impart spin on a bullet that would approximate off the shelf SMG ballistics? if it just an inch or so you could machine a reverse thread onto cut up X-inch long sections of sourced rifled barrel blanks and screw them onto DIY SMGs as muzzle attachments.
That looks cool as fuck
>csgo skins
I have the free PDF of a Treatise on Roller Locking Firearms. You might find it useful.
I've yet to get a mail from you, mate. :(
When did you email me?
where did you get it?
A kind loan from an user who enjoyed other books I had released. Shout buckshot.
Emails should be up to date now.
>to poor to afford irl skins for his favella made smg
Smelly dumb working class scum
I have the book itself, it doesn't have any real engineering information.
you were right fusion is pretty good
Under federal law, it's for your own personal possession only (with the exception of black powder weapons). And they have to be legal under all other gun laws (no SBS, no smoothbore pistols, no full auto, etc)
State law is different. Some states have zip gun laws, so be careful of that.
my states has no zip laws so thats cool.
Just needs some purity seals and skulls.
>tfw ill never gain the skill of metalworking.
convince me not to build this
Blenderfag with no gun building knowledge again, I've been learning 360 so I can measure my shit. Here's the bolt idea rough draft I have. Since it'll be open bolt i had the idea of a fixed firing pin, the whole thing works on blow back, and I added a slit for guidance on an outer wall idea, so criticism so far helps. I'm still trying to get a fucking trigger mechanism and ill make the spring system soon.
I have many questions
>loads 40mm with malicious intent
not necessarily true. the main thing you have to be afraid of is primary explosives (Mercury or Silver Fulminate, unstabilized TATP, picric acid, etc.). they can go off from basically anything from heat to static electricity to murphy's law, but since only a little bit is needed to detonate secondary explosives (which are much much more stable than primaries). pretty much anyone trained in explosive demolitions will tell you that you should only have a detonator set in your secondary explosive if you are ready to blow something the fuck up.
but yea in terms of actually making something at home, making explosives is not a good idea unless you're a crazy retard.
That's why you don't fuck up.
t. never fucked up
TATP is some spooky shit, I seem to recall someone from the old roguesci forums storing it improperly (Threaded container).
Crystals sublimated, reformed in the threads of the container. He went to unscrew the lid and that was the end of that.
Do you have any more pictures?
I'm trying to get as much information as possible on the PRIG.
Second time I've seen this. Where are the plans and reading material.
>I want to carry a Nerf Gun
For the bandwidth impaired:
Anything homemade which can handle rifle cartridges?
Homemade AK would be possibly since AK are over pressured but there would always the fear that it could explode.
Thank you Desu
>dad has amazing skills at metalworking
>he worked with metals for atleast 30 years
>i know he could pull off a mac 11 like pic related with ease
>wont do it because muh illegal guns
>still trying to convince him anyway
For context we live in a third world no funs shithole. I use the home defense card but it doesnt work
this
What about Deterrence Dispensed and Fosscad? They make some pretty cool stuff. Homeshop ECM rifling, Glock magazines, some lowers and they have the FGC9 in the making.
>making a reliable feeding smg mag is much harder than making an smg
Hence the revolving mag in this one
Much easier to have an integral revolving cylinder where you single load cartridges. Don't even need to eject. That's the v1.0.
v2.0 is you eject cartridges after firing.
v3.0 is the mag is detachable.
The wooden frame will break after like 2 shots.
You missed the next two books where he went over increasing the weight?
