Not so much entitled but I understand his argument. My boomer dad has inherited a bunch of family properties and rather than hold on to them and rent them out for income, before passing them on to his kids so they don't have to wageslave until they're sixty for a roof over their heads, he sold them and burned through the money, going on all sorts of cruises and trips to casinos and different vacation spots. Sure would be nice to not have to worry about being evicted so I could focus my time and energy on other things, and invest what I would have spent on a mortgage into building some generational wealth for my family. I personally am going to scrimp and save so my kids don't have to struggle for a home like me. The way I see it, we're soon approaching a post scarcity world anyway.

I never understood why people kick their kids out and leave them with college debt. I lived with my parents for a few years, got a minimum wage job and still had over $30,000 after a few years and a few small raises. My parents didn't consider it weird that I was in my early 20's and living with them still.
