en.wikipedia.org/wiki/September_2012_raid_on_Camp_Bastion

>The September 2012 raid on Camp Bastion was a Taliban raid on Camp Bastion in Afghanistan's Helmand province on the night of 14 September 2012.[1] The base hosted British, American and Tongan military personnel at the time of the attack. The Taliban fighters killed two U.S. Marines and destroyed or severely damaged eight U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harriers before the entire raiding force was killed or captured.

combat outposts are nothing like fobs

Just at a one second glance at the second outpost I can already tell what killed them.

Fuck you, pussy

You know what he meant damnit. Guerilla attack. Insurgent attack. Basically an asymmetric infiltration attack by small numbers of infantry not part of any kind of regular army with ordinary front lines.

>those two random Latvians at Kamdesh
The fuck were they doing there?

Those don't really count as FOBs

The Baltics have to do NATO shit so that they can be sure the US will bail them out if Russia swings on them.

The Afghan war had wide support across NATO and even the world. Lots of countries sent troops, observers, trainers, etc. Even countries with otherwise fairly insignificant militaries.

>Oof

Army

>9 killed
>8 killed

Woah, totally wrecked! Those single digits must be devastating!

>8 us dead
>150 hajis dead

America might as well just surrender

Oh yeah? What is that?

The. Army. Is. Shit.

Me

It's not anything confined to Afghanistan any more. Whenever USA wants a new war they are perfectly capable of doing it on their own, but for every additional flag they can add to the 'coalition' the attack increases its legitimity. If say Ireland sends four officers and a tea cooking secretary then Coalition = Coalition+1 and 'a valuable NATO country sending a strategically highly appreciated resource'. The word coalition has never stunk more than torday.
