Then why did you do so terrible in the Iraq war and currently losing hard in Afghanistan?
Anthony Lewis
Non-Americanized Japs were so hardcore. They would have been in New York in 1943 if they had 1/4th of American resources.
Pic: The crew of the sinking Japanese air craft Zuikaku salutes as the flag is lowered for the last time on October 25, 1944. The ship would sink with the loss of 843 men.
In WWII, civilian casualties were a means to an end. Only a statistic. Now, it's heresy to even consider. Even accidents (or "accidents") are put under insane amounts of scrutiny. Because of that, the USA couldn't just level the entire nation like they did with japan.
Jonathan Bennett
>reached Baghdad within 3 weeks >toppled Sadam >still have permanent bases in the country today Wow what an absolute failure
But to answer your country about Afghanistan we have weak faggot leaders running the show there.
Brandon Howard
Japan would not have started the war if they had even close to the resources the US had.
Connor Bell
They had no choice but to start the war, the US started a blockade! Inconvenient facts that are kept out of most history books.
Luke Myers
>the US started a blockade! Embargo is not a blockade, Tojo.
Japanese tanks have a nice 1930s aesthetic to them. Shame all their modernized varients never left the home Islands as some were approaching the quality of Shermans.
Noah Cooper
History is not black and white, but you are treating it as it is. Japan had a choice not to start a war with the sole goal of expansion. Other nations were gladly doing trade with Japan until their expansionism threatened areas owned by those trading partners. Why would the US want to continue trade when Japan was threatening US territory in the Philippines, the UK's territory in Hong Kong and other holdings in the Pacific, and the ally of Nationalist China? That would have been working against the US's interests. It wasn't about Japan having lack of access to trade, it was about them wanting to conquer. The embargoes were a way to try to apply pressure to deter those hostile actions without it leading to war.
>had no choice but to start the war they had plenty of choices, they just mad we said no to giving them oil and they thought they could steamroll us like the did china
James Hall
As a result of Japan invading China for resources. Japan was afraid of being left behind and taken advantage of by the west and they took advantage of a weak mainland Asia to get more power.
Everyone else: We must protect the country from the enemy or it will be the end of the world! USA: Fuck japs lol buy war bonds
Julian Perez
The western powers threw away that chance when they denied Japan's bid to have Asian people treated as equals to Europeans at the Versailles conference.
James Brooks
To be fair the attack (or the reason for it at least) was pretty much orchestrated by the Kwantung Army who were more or less wiping their asses with any orders that they didn't like from the Imperial General Headquarters. Though of course the fact that the Japanese government just took it as fait accompli instead of stomping on the Kwantung assholes goes to show how badly led Japan was during this period.
John Turner
In what way? Japan didn't have much of a say at Versailles, true, but neither did Italy and other some European states. The treaty conference was mostly aimed at the UK and France punishing Germany. Japan did still walk away from WW1 with some of Germany's former colonies. The League of Nations was where Japan could have advocated for "equal" treatment but they withdrew in 1933 despite being a founding member. Mistreatment at Versailles (something all 3 major Axis nations would cite) can only excuse and justify so much. It does not excuse or justify invasions of multiple nations & territories and the slaughter of the people who were living there. Japan did not want to be equals to the Europeans, they wanted to force them out of Asia & the Pacific so they could rule it for themselves. Imperialism was nothing new and so I'm not saying Japan was evil for wanting to do it, but they tried it and they failed. You seem more as if you're trying to justify it as something with any shred of morality. Which I would totally disagree with.
How decentralized Japan was in some ways is truly astounding. How they could claim to revere the Emperor and his word (or someone speaking and claiming it was on his behalf) but then do things contrary to the government's wishes. Getting deeply involved in China being a big example, or at the end of the war where some generals wanted to arrest Hirohito for surrendering. Then there's the huge inter-service rivalry between the IJA and IJN, where I'm surprised there wasn't at least one battle where they fought each other. Even within the IJN there was a bitter dislike between differing mindsets.
I'm interested in Japan during WW2 because they were so blatantly going against common sense at times. They argued among themselves more than any other I can think of during the same time frame. Also their equipment on all fronts appeals to me because it was different to what the others were using.
>cherry picking the conflict where the enemy literally had no airforce reminder amerimutts lost literally 57 planes in '91 and are trying to pretend it never happened.
reminder that amerinsectoids only accomplishment in a war against sandniggers is bombing a convoy of civilian cars after signing a ceasefire with them never trust an amerimutt, they have nigger blood in them
Parker Carter
And we’d do it again sandnigger.
Aaron Roberts
57 planes in kuwait 10,000 in vietnam why do amerimutts suck at war? can you give me an insight on this matter? does sending racemixed goblin mutants to war make their performance drop?
F4 phantoms went 4:1 against the mig-21 the count also includes helicopters, which are the largest part of the aircraft losses, which is inevitable since helos are more vulnerable to ground fire and malfunctions so vietnam isnt a very good war to criticize air to air performance, since not only did they achieve favourable air kills, they also established air superiority for most of the war, the far more important aspect of air combat
Anthony Hall
>literally at the admission of amerimutt officers made up statistics ok mcmutt
Quite a number of carriers were lost because fuel fires, US ones included.
Jaxson Moore
That's probably the most embarrassing battle the Allies fought in WW2.
Matthew Walker
WW2 was just mutts ( pretty unaesthetic nation ) bombing some helpless gooks armed with outdated shit
John Carter
None in such a dramatic and easily avoidable way as Taiho, though.
Levi Morris
>wanting shitty tropical climate over glorious comfy european climate eat shit user

Not, if You include East Front: >sox million strong Red Army, with hundreds of heavy tanks, countless airforce, and having the defender's advantage >surrendering and deserting by milions all the way to Moscow until Stalin took their families hostage
Michael Brooks
Can we range ban all non Americans from this board please?
Christopher Cruz
Its wasnt a blockade it was just a trade embargo for unfair trade and stealing American IPs enforced by American military
Japan kept exploiting free trade to make profits thats unacceptable and not in the spirit of capitalism

fun fact about that pic, US pacific fleet had so much planes overfly the missouri on that day that the japanese thought the americans must have used some sort of trick to make their air fleet look larger, they must have had the squadrons circle back around for a 2nd run....but nope, it was just one pass, fast carrier task force was just THAT LARGE. us wartime production is insane
Joshua Cox
this pic man... that was a nat guard division (27th ID).... if they hadnt taken so long to capture the island uss liscome bay wouldnt have been torpedoed...not their fault though they had a tough job. advance straight into an island with no cover and MGs gunning them down all the way in
Hudson Diaz
i also forgot to add... that fight was so bad the regiment CO was KIA on the first day and his dead body was left in plain view for everyone to see.. makin was a brutal fight so imagine how bad it was for the marines hitting tarawa (which was even more heavily defended)... the gilberts invasion was not a good assignment for a marine
Dominic Barnes
I could have sworn this was Marines on Okinawa
