Rifles are rifles. Any bullet traveling faster then 2200 will tare flesh from the shock of wave and energy dump of the round.

It's not just nogunz kids. I've seen fudds claim shotgun slugs are wholly inadequate for even black bears, and nothing less than .300 winmag, or ideally safari magnums can be used to reliably kill bears. And not do so ironically, but completely seriously.

Any rifle round with 2k+ energy will kill a grizzly bear with decent shot placement. Any round with 1K+ energy will fuck it up bad if hit in the head.

Neither will work. To get through a bear's thick, steel plate hide and kevlar lined spall coating, you will need at a minimum a .50BMG high explosive armor piercing incindiary round. It will likely take a full magdump to take affect, so an automatic rifle is absolutely required. For better results I recommend a Lahti L-39 20mm cannon fired from a fortified position. As bears can close at a speed in excess of 80 MPH, do not take shots at under one mile or you risk being mauled.

That about covers it for primitive advice, to do it properly, without undue risk to yourself or cruelty to the bear, just use a surplus ATGM from a helicopter.

This. The point is to kill the nice bear before he returns the favor. That's if you want to kill him, anyway, but given the fact that bear spray is more effective in preventing any injury in bear encounters than firearms by a long shot, that should probably be your first option.

Of course it will, with the proper shot placement. However, I don't understand hy you would use a suboptimal round for the job, when there are so many other choices that are proven to stop a bear in its tracks, and still give you a little bit of margin of error for shot placement. If you already own a 6.5 creedmore, then you clearly don't have to worry about money. Consider .30-06 or .300 Win Mag. To be honest, within 50 yards I would prefer my Beretta 12ga with slugs to a 6.5 bolt gun.
