I shot my model 70 SA 22-250. I was testing different grain bullets. 50 gr was the winner with .70" at 100 yds.

I went to work today, and afterward cleaned my apartment while watching a couple of online auctions. Tempted to buy a mis-matched Lebel in fair but not-bubba'ed condition, but there's other stuff coming up next weekend that I'm more excited about so I'll probably sit this one out.

I think I'll put pic related back in its sporter stock and take it to the range either tomorrow or Monday and see if it's actually worth restoring for a shooter.

And this was the last surplus I took pictures of while at the range.

What's the going price for a nice Russian SKS these days? I'm trying to decide between getting a matching 1960s Chinese SKS in cosmoline for $460 delivered, or ponying up for a Russian SKS at auction.

Attached: 1468444390659.png (500x617, 52K)

$200 more will absolutely get you a nice refurb matching Russian

Hello fellas. In the market for the following. Are my prices reasonable?
>M1917, Winchester or Eddystone, original finishes, matching, g-vg condition
$900
>Steyr Hahn, matching w/ holster, vg condition
$900
>K31 walnut stock (pre 1946) matching with mint bore
$600

Can you really get a nice Russian SKS for $660 delivered? I was kind of under the impression it was more like $650-$700 + shipping/fees.

>paying anything more than 200CAD for an SKS

>M1917, Winchester or Eddystone, original finishes, matching, g-vg condition
>$900
$900 should be able to get you one today.
>K31 walnut stock (pre 1946) matching with mint bore
>$600
I think that's doable if you're willing to compromise on external finish condition.

All the rifles in your picture have the same magazine capacity.

475 is a good price if you can find a good seller. Pic related.

Go after this one. He had it at $449 and didn’t get any bites.

Wood grain in the stock looks like Beech.

M14. Felt like I could unzip all of Southeast Asia.

Attached: 20190810_102140.jpg (4032x2268, 3.53M)

it is beech but thanks for link. walnut isn't a deal breaker but it would be nice

My interest is guns is more so in milsurp, but with how things are going lately, I'm wondering if I should be putting more money into stocking up more .223/9mm, finishing my AR build, and generally getting my modern guns and gear more readily equipped. What would you guys say? Proceed as usual with the surp, or finish getting kitted out for the big igloo asap?

these are nice guns but the ammo is way too expensive and hard to find.

Probably wouldn’t hurt to stock up on what you want for ammo, mags, and “assault rifles.” Not because I feel anything’s getting banned anytime soon, but since next year is an election year, prices will probably creep up and supply will probably start to dwindle as more people “panic buy.”

Get a Mosin.

>Range day edition. What did you shoot today?
Nothin'. Played D&D at a friend's house and packed some shit up to move for the semester. I'm going to try to have one last good range day before I head back up - I'm thinking pic related, my M1903A3, and Garand. I'd bring along my M96 and MAS 36 too if I had any ammo for them, but it's not worth the extra trip to overpay at the LGS and it wouldn't be shipped in time if I got it online.
It was a shitty CAI import that a friend-of-a-friend gloss-finished about a mile thick and nickeled all of the metal. He kept referring to it as "the Chinky," though, so that was amusing.

Attached: IMG_20190808_185044_01.jpg (4160x1215, 2.15M)

Nice ass deal user. What year?

>That M39

Wish I had gotten one those instead of the Swiss 96/11 I did get from my one and only Sweaty Ben purchase. The rifle I got was bubba'd by the former Swiss owner, pawned it and only kind of looked back. Now neither are 309

>on OfferUp
>ask guy if I can buy his new box for 40
>sure
>actually I’ll give you 4 boxes I have for 30
>go to sleep
>wake up
>”nvm someone wants them”
Fuck you I thought I had something to live for for once

Attached: EDA052E8-40E8-4F31-A162-6D9461014468.png (653x766, 580K)

Wait, did Sweaty Ben really sell you a bubba'd rifle advertised as an original milsurp piece?

Just bought No4 Mk1/2 for $450. No rust on metal whatsoever and bore is great. Did I do good msg? Sorry don't have pic on the computer yet.

Plus we in many US states can get an AK with 30 round magazines, which leafs cannot.

Granted, we shouldn't play the game of one upmanship, but recognize that gun laws suck wherever they are in this world.

What jacket is this?

Attached: 1565222588818.jpg (842x1024, 169K)

Belgian jigsaw camouflage field jacket.

sportsmansguide.com/product/index/belgian-military-surplus-camo-field-jacket-used?a=504841

I was dead broke when Sweaty Ben had those. It was coming to this thread that got me back into surp, and seeing everyone buying them from Classic made me really want one.

nothing. went yesterday

1920s as far as I can tell

Finally got to shoot my Type 38 and my MAS 44 today. Had a fucking blast, even though it was hot as fuck.

I just found this name scratched into my p38

Any significance to it? Name of the ebil nazi that carried it? Name of the bubba that traded it into the lgs?

Enjoy.

I'd say do both if you can (the answer is always both), but get kitted out for Part II while you can.

Surp is surplus for a reason; the people who fight with stuff like K98s and MAS-36s in Middle Eastern and African shitholes would trade them for a Romanian md63 in a heartbeat, and trade said Romanian AK for a Gucci'd out AR in a heartbeat.

Surp is still way more interesting (imo) than modern guns though for its historical and collectible significance, but in a gunfight I'd much rather be putting lead down range with my Aero AR with Lancers than my Type 53 with stripper clips.

It's a Bog Pod. amazon.com/Bog-Pod-Rapid-Shooting-Rest/dp/B01NCZMAD2/ref=sr_1_3?gclid=Cj0KCQjw-b7qBRDPARIsADVbUbVFGqZ4Xq4cB9Am48gbFEzoT0cmc03EAp2KCi9pvGzUdm6ZusElm3YaAjT7EALw_wcB&hvadid=153699916759&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9023182&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t2&hvqmt=e&hvrand=13442349215348157869&hvtargid=kwd-5217606888&hydadcr=25889_9539958&keywords=bog-pod&qid=1565510044&s=gateway&sr=8-3

Zoom in and make a better quality pic. Can't read

Took my recently acquired P14 - - to the range. With PPU ammo it shot 2.5MOA groups at 100 and 200m all day, and was pretty steadily on the 500m 16in gong. I am fucking over the moon, it's comfortably better than every other surp rifle I own.

Help me anons, should I make this a repro trench gun? It would be period correct for WW2 except the markings are different.

Yeah, I don't have a normal SKS barrel yet. My other SKS is a Yugo 59/66A1.

Has it hold well? The reviews on it all praise it so I might get it.

If you want something lightweight and very compact than get it. If you want a rest for dedicated bench shooting, then I would get something more expensive. It's nice for it's price-range but there are better ones available.

I know that feel. Times like this, I feel like I wasted money on toys that I never fuckin play with. Life gets in the way. I need to go shoot.

That's real fuckin' purdy.

It was P marked, meaning someone bought it for their own personal use after their service; and while the configuration was normal, the stock had be BADLY sanded..rounded corners, metal proud over the wood..and there was lacquer unevenly applied to it after. Uglier than sin, for extra 20 dollars. Never ever again. It should have been sold as a reduced price gun

I have a Tula SKS with a tech rear sight on it, what should I list it for on Armslist?

The stock is considerably darker then the rest of the wood. Was made in 42 so is it correct to just assume they were pumping out as many rifles as they could for the war effort and used different wood? Looks like it could be walnut.

Anyone live in Northern Virginia? Gonna move there soon, close to DC and need a good outdoor range/gun club that I can frequent

Not factory or arsenal. Probably for either a collector or more likely a prop house.

I'm loving this M38. Now I just got to find some 7.35 RIP.

Attached: IMG_1216.jpg (1648x5072, 1.56M)

Why would either of them want to display the rifle's serial number like that?

Had a pal that bought a Yugo Tokarev from Sweaty Ben. Advertised that they had the crest and if you paid extra for handpick, you'd be more likely to get one with the crest. He got one without the crest and with rust on the slide and safety.

Fuck Sweaty Ben.

Is that a Sears roebuck J.C.Higgins model 102.20?

Agreed, fuck them. They ruined what was left of the bulk of the surplus gun market.

I also bought a handpick Yugo Toke from Sweaty Ben and it arrived with a barrel like a sewer pipe. Also bought a JRA AK74 from them and the thing was a jamo-matic that I had to send back.

Oddly, my non-handpick Makarov turned out fine.

The Cove is sorta close, but close is relative here. it's still at least an hour and a half away.

It's a Westernfield model 30 I paid $90 USD for it

So as someone who is both new to firearms and milsurp, what would probably be the best firearm quality wise for a 500$ price range?
