I’m moving to Florida in September, and want to ask you several questions about gun regulation.
1) I have not got US passport, but have SSN, green card. 2) I am over 21, never been convicted in crime, (even in motherland, lol)
Q: Am I right, that I can simply go to the gun shop / pawn shop and buy semi-auto pistol (9x19 for example) or semi-auto serbian/bulgarian/polish AK/SKS in 7,62x39?
2) Can I carry this crap on public, but in case (in holster or paper pox), or not?
3) Where I can shooting my guns? only on private shooting ranges, spending my money for rent of range? or there is any public places, such forests, deserts and other abandoned areas, where I can legally shoot?
you cannot get guns in florida unless you are a resident. you cannot get official residency until you have lived there for 6 months and one day.
also you should look this stuff up on google. same for getting a drivers license in FL.
Oliver Lee
I couldn't help you with Florida law specifically, but according to Federal law, if you have a green card then you can buy firearms just like a US citizen can.
Nathan Harris
You need to be a florida resident to buy a gun in Florida You can only conceal carry a firearm on your person. You need to have a concealex carry permit to do so. Ask your local gun store about the class >public shooting land >Florida Never ever. Find a decent range and practice there. The only outdoor one i even know about is outside Tampa and fuck that
Jack Robinson
Don't be surprised if you have trouble with certain ranges and gun shops who are paranoid about selling to non-citizens. You're legally allowed to purchase guns with a green card, but that doesn't mean they're legally obligated to sell them to you. Just take your business elsewhere.
Aaron Jackson
Wouldn't it be like refusing to sell to a Nigger or a Muslim? Pretty sure that discrimination based on national origin is a big no no at a federal level and you could take them to court over it.
Dylan Jackson
>unless you are a resident but if i own a fucking greencard, that i won, and SSN... I am legal resident of US, and if i’ll get FL driver license , it will be proof, that i am florida man :3 Am i right?
In Russia I just need to get temporary registration and get checked (drug, crime, psycho check, gun carrying courses (about 500$ at all and 1,5 months) to buy a smoothbore/shotguns and non lethal handguns (rifled weapons is more hard to get)
... i cant believe, that purchasing guns on Fl is harder than in Moscow.
Permanent Resident is a specific legal status. Once you've been here for more than 6 months, you're all clear. You get the idea. However, you should check websites like armslist. You'll be able to buy in private sale without having to deal with bureaucratic bullshit.
Liam Turner
>I can’t believe that purchasing guns in FL is harder than in Moscow It isn’t if you’re a citizen. I’m not from Florida, but you honestly shouldn’t have a problem. I’m not sure if there’s a certain amount of time you have to live in the US though.
Jeremiah James
Most ranges will let you rent one. You can try different types and fine one you like while you wait.
Gavin Young
This is false.
Again this is false.
Gun store owners have a very wide degree of freedom on who to sell to.
You can buy long guns in FL without being a resident of the state. You cannot purchase handguns unless you’re a permanent resident though.
Literally a 10 second google search proves those posters wrong but they still posted misinformation.
Justin Gomez
FLfag here. Not sure about the greencard but you need a concealed carry permit to carry here which is usually 80 for the class, 90 for the papwerwork and 15 for the fingerprints. Also you can open carry permitless if you are engaged in or going to/from: hunting fishing camping or gunrange. You can also open carry in your home and place of business. Some places will do classes for free.
There are a lot of ranges across the state. Usually state forests have a free outdoor range, ie ocala and lake city. You bring your own supplies of course.
Connor Peterson
>ranges Hold up, PA and FL are tied for 1st with the amount of concealed carry permits given up. I thought florida was based. What the fuck is this class you have to take. Thank god I live IN PA
Xavier Parker
>You can buy long guns in FL without being a resident of the state. I've had sales in other states denied because even gun stores don't know that you can buy long guns out of state. There's a lot of myths and half truths around guns here. Most of it is because if the contradictory state and federal laws. Of course our law makers do this in purpose.
Kayden Ross
Consider buying a black powder or air rifle because I believe in Florida, as most other states, air rifles and black powder are not legally considered firearms, even convicted criminals can own these weapons in Florida. You should easily be able to get a .22 air rifle that performs at same velocity as a regular .22 There are also many black powder repeating arms good for home defense or hunting.
Evan Murphy
>Am I right, that I can simply go to the gun shop / pawn shop and buy semi-auto pistol (9x19 for example) or semi-auto serbian/bulgarian/polish AK/SKS in 7,62x39?
yes.
Liam Lopez
Really? Fuck. I thought you had to be a US citizen to buy a firearms. Fuck's sake.
Parker Gray
They’re just retarded, there are no federal restrictions on buying long guns out of state.
Brody Nguyen
>asking native Americans about the laws affecting how foreign residents buy guns
All I know is that if you're a permanent resident here, you can buy a gun. I don't know if that's the same as "having a green card," but when I have worked in foreign countries, having a work visa was not the same thing as having permanent resident status. I can't help you with carry laws. As far as I know, the rights of non-Americans are not recognized by American law.
Gavin Parker
Welcome to America user! Now, enjoy the freedoms that you deserve as a goddamn human being. So to answer your question...
>you can buy guns with a green card just make sure you keep the card with you when filling out form >you can apply for a CC permit in your home state with your green card just check rules and regulations on the state of Florida
Other than that, it's pretty simple and straightforward. Welcome to America and move fast on your Citizenship!

I work at a FFL, ignore these idiots. What you need is proof they you are a resident alien to buy firearms, once you get your Florida state ID ( to prove residence ) you can buy hand guns, at the moment, you will only be able to buy rifles. As long as your green card is still valid and you're here as a resident alien or getting your citizenship, you're fine.
Cooper Taylor
Are you nogunz? There's a fucking spot on the 4473 where you list your citizenship, and if its not "US" then you have to list your alien ID number.
If you hold a green card or a non-tourist visa then you can legally buy a gun under Federal law. I don't claim to know if there are any state laws that differ from that, but federally it's no problem.
Luis James
Be careful carrying in public. It’s legal but some Karen’s may call the cops on you. If you are a Florida resident it’s very easy to get a concealed carry permit. I highly recommend doing that if you plan to carry everyday go that route. It’s easier not dealing with the occasional cop encounter in the first place.

>motherland fuck off, we're full, you russian piece of aids ridden shit
>Am I right, that I can simply go to the gun shop / pawn shop and buy semi-auto pistol (9x19 for example) or semi-auto serbian/bulgarian/polish AK/SKS in 7,62x39? It is legal for a green card holder to buy guns in the United States. >2) Can I carry this crap on public, but in case (in holster or paper pox), or not? Most states, including Florida, require you to have a license to carry a gun in public. >3) Where I can shooting my guns? only on private shooting ranges, spending my money for rent of range? or there is any public places, such forests, deserts and other abandoned areas, where I can legally shoot? You can find shooting ranges on public land in the wilderness as well as rental lanes and private clubs closer to town.
