Caliber war thread

I want all 9mm melvins off my board by sundown.

Your round is fine, good enough for most things. But the tacticool faggots who think that it's the perfect handgun caliber that makes all other pistol rounds useless are the most annoying

Nine milimeme fags can't just accept the truth that the bigger bullet is, the better will be stopping power. 10mm auto is a fine round, and .357 SIG is a sane person's 9x19.

Ignoring cost, is .357sig actually livable to practice with regularly in a mid-sized pistol?

Just curious.

Sure.

The Wondrous 9×19 will be abundantly available during the Big Igloo. Enjoy getting yeeted before I do because you ran out of the gucci meme round you so adamantly clung to, all because you're a special snowflake.

I don't care about your larping fantasies.

True, but it will be hard for you to find ones that use your favorite wildcat round.

So go and spend more neetbux on your preps! What's the problem?

> misses due to flinching during stress and poor marksmanship (due to time spent on meme bullets instead of training) and has slow follow up shots with his meme caliber
>gets hit with an accurate 9mm in the sternum
> dies

>implying I don't have a 9mm as well simply for ammo compatibility reasons
>implying long running gun-battles where you expend large amounts of pistol caliber ammo would occur

doubt

Nice mantras 9mm fanatic

>not training with the largest cal to build up strength and discipline.
you'll shit yourself when someone pulls a gun on you.

Shooting a big caliber does not increase your strength stupid, if you want to do that lift weights dumb söyboy. And as if your occasionally shot meme gun gives you "discipline" lmao. You pull a gun on me I'm going to return fire faster and more accurately than you. Honestly theres nothing to argue considering pretty much every military and special forces that matter use 9mm luger. No one important uses whatever shit round you have lol

cope harder 9fag

That's best mm you fruit.

I hate to break it to you but if you regularly shoot more powerful rounds it absolutely will strengthen your hand, especially if you're doing it with a DA revolver.

Some .38SPL+P (Rem UMC for instance) feels like cannon fire relative to a typical 9mm self-defense load.

9mm is way more powerful than 38 spcl retard

9x19mm is the best handgun round

My bullets are heavier, faster, and bigger in diameter. Also I get fuckin 15 of em.

"more powerful"

What is felt recoil and DA trigger pull?

your "no guns" is showing or just another Glawk baby I guess...

.44Mag out of a Deagle is actually more comfortable to shoot than a light framed 3in revolver firing a hot .38spl+P

A comment so vague it actually has no value at all.

Recoil is closely approximated by power factor, at least for handguns (where bullet mass >>> powder mass).
Typical .357 SIG loads have power factors between 9mm and .40, a little closer to .40.
Light turbobullets (i.e. 65gr Xtreme Defense) are down with typical 9mm loads.

Some people find it psychologically intimidating due to the substantially greater flash and report, but as far as actual recoil is concerned? If you're not already struggling with 9mm, it won't be a problem with practice.

Some more or less typical figures, just as a general idea:

.357 SIG:
65gr @ 2100 fps = 136
125gr @ 1450 fps = 181
147gr @ 1250 fps = 184

.40 S&W:
135gr @ 1400 fps = 189
150gr @ 1300 fps = 195
165gr @ 1200 fps = 198
180gr @ 1100 fps = 198

9mm +P:
115gr @ 1300 fps = 140
124gr @ 1200 fps = 149
147gr @ 1100 fps = 162

Based and 9pilled

This but hes right

Attached: 10mm_based.png (446x358, 158K)

You're comparing +p to standard rounds. Apples and oranges, why don't you put the real 9mm numbers up there?

Well if they'd just make a 10mm USP stock then we wouldnt have to abuse them. Now would we?
>stop crying, USP. You chose to put on that dress

If your going to carry a nine micrometer at least have the decency to get some magnum'd out meme version like 9 major or 960

Then you have the chad 10mm with heavy loads that match up with most intermediate rifle rounds.

60 at 2400 = 144

100 at 1850 = 185

135 at 1700 = 229

200 at 1325 = 265

220 at 1200 = 1264

(using a 4 inch barrel, you can push crazy numbers if you use a 6 or 7.5 inch barrel)

I love 9mm but the "you can only use 9mm ever at all full stop without exceptions bar none no substitutions in all situations every time of every day or you will literally die fifty times and be torn asunder and your molecular structure will disintegrate as the very matter which composed your being self-annihilates and becomes nonexistent, even the small and large nuclear forces binding your very subatomic particles together will be blinked from being at the exact moment you touch a handgun loaded in anything other that 9x19mm Luger Parabellum" fags piss me off to no end. "Uh 9mm is better than whatever round because modern bullets" NIGGER HORNADY MAKES CRITICAL DEFENSE IN FUCKING EVERYTHING, THEY ALL HAVE MODERN BULLETS. SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Just wait until some kommando figures out how to load 10mm slap.

You could chuck a 55 grain tungsten rod and 5 grain sabot at oh, I dont know. Probably 2600-2800 fps from a longslide handgun. You could use a MASSIVE charge of longshot (15+ grains) with a projectile that light.

Attached: b82.png (620x634, 233K)

Uhh. Is it normal for my dick to turn into a 91-30?

>not using 13.2mm AT bullets

Lol ok loser

Fuck "muh 9mm is just as good babies." .40 S&W and .45 are the best rounds from an all around standpoint. 10mm is pretty cool but it's probably a meme at this point. Cool potential though.

Thanks, I'm interested in picking up something for fun or occasional carry (have two other more rational carry choices already) and that's actually helpful information.

9mm is only a PITA when it's in something tiny so a full-size .357Sig is probably not a problem. I'm sure practice will be needed like anything else though.

After qualifying on a SAW and an M60 I think I'm okay with muzzle flash at this point. kek

What pistol can actually take max pressure 10mm?

All of them.
If you are asking about +p then it's a differnt thing entirely as there is no set standard.

There is a finite amount of gunpowder that can fit in a 10mm case and still allow for a bullet to be seated. I'm just asking what guns can handle a 10mm loaded to the brim.

9mm guys think bigger rounds cause flinching

Women

>posting a fucking Taurus
Get a second job

Filled to the brim with what though?
Big difference between fine ground blank powder and cannon powders.

I just want to know what the most solidly built handgun is, my man. That means which one can safely handle the highest pressure loads.

My wrists are fucked so I need the soft recoil of 9mm.

Taurus has some great revolvers, noguns.

So does korth.

Okay guys, so I did some research, and it turns out that Glocks can handle full power 10mm, like the kind sold by Underwood, Double Tap and Buffalo Bore. Colt Delta Elites CANNOT handle such rounds.

When it comes to hand loads, the glock 20 is still going to handle it, but you will have a lot of split cases if you reload because glock barrels have loose tolerances. You are better off installing an aftermarket barrel that fully supports handloaded 10mm, if you want to hand load 10mm.

>NOOOOOOO YOU CANT SHOOT BOTTLE NECK CARTRIDGES WHY? C-CAUSE YOU CANT. THATS WHY!

What's the best bullet weight for 10mm? I like speed so I get 135gr spear tips.

Honestly when it comes to 10mm handguns Glock 20 or Springfield Armory XD 10mm are the go to's cause of the price point $550-$599.
A freaking Colt Delta goes for $1000.

Yep 135 grain also .40 S&W should be loaded with 135 grain to get its true ballistics, but it's hard to find 135 grain its always sold out.

Pic related its crazy how people think 9mm trumps .40 and 10mm

Glock 40 mos with a 24lb recoil spring and a gucci aftermarket barrel.

I've got one and it feeds even swampfox loads with no problem.
